GLADYS REYES was put on a spot when her husband Christopher Roxas revealed some intimate details about their marriage at the presscon of “Pyra, Babaeng Apoy”. Since she plays a villain role most of the time, is she also a villain when she’s at home? “Siempre, sasabihin ko hindi,” she says.
And what can Christopher say about this? “May mga desisyon akong gustong gawin, pero siya pa rin ang nasusunod, lalo na pag ayaw niyang maglabas ng pera,” he says.
“Teka, naiiyak ako sa tawa,” says Gladys laughing. “Hindi ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko. Masyado kang honest, Bhe!”
“Mabunganga lang siya, pero mabait at maasikaso naman,” adds Christopher.
“Grabe ka naman, bunganga talaga, ha!” says Gladys.
They were on for 11 years before they got married and they’ve been living as husband and wife for 9 years now. Did GMA-7 get them for “Pyra” on a package deal?
“Hoy, hindi, a,” says Gladys. “Nagulat na nga lang ako, magkasama pala kami rito. Si Direk Dick Lindayag ang kumuha sa kanya. Siya ang totoong father ni Thea Tolentino as Pyra. Siya ang original na may pyrokinetic powers na minana ng anak niya. Si Roxanne Guinoo ang mother ni Thea, na inagaw ni Ryan Eigenmann from Christopher. Ako naman yung kontrabidang kapatid ni Ryan na magpapagulo sa buhay ni Thea.”

Irma Adlawan Didn't Expect To Win Cinemalaya Best Actress Award For 'Transit'
IRMA ADLAWAN won best actress in Cinemalaya’s New Wave category for her performance as an OFW with a half-breed daughter in “Transit”. Did she expect to win?
“Not at all, pareho kami ni Jasmine Curtis Smith who played my daughter,” she says. “She also didn’t expect to win as best supporting actress. Ilang beses na kong nominated pero laging talo so hindi na ko nage-expect. Ang maganda nito, nakuha ang ‘Transit’ as official entry sa Busan Filmfest in Korea and our producer, Paul Soriano, told us na isasama niya raw kaming buong cast doon.”
And now, she has an entry in another filmfest, Maryo J. de los Reyes’ “Bamboo Flowers” in the FDCP All Masters Sineng Pambansa to be shown at all SM Cinemas from September 11 to 17. “I was in Israel filming ‘Transit’ nang tawagan ako ni Direk Maryo for this movie, filmed naman in Bohol. Inabot ako ng two weeks doon, pero okay lang kasi maganda naman ang Bohol. I play the tourist guide mother of Ruru Madrid. Tatay ko si Spanky Manikan na may sakit. Ruru wants to stop going to school to help me in our family expenses. I’m against it but he still goes to the city to work so nagka-conflict kami.”
How would she assess Ruru, a newcomer? “First time ko with him and he’s good, okay siya kasi very open, nakikinig. He handled all our dramatic scenes well.”
She’s thankful to GMA-7 for congratulating her on the air for her Cinemalaya win. “Nakakatuwang they give importance sa mga artista nila. I’m now seen with Lovi Poe in ‘Titser’ and I’m also in ‘Genesis’ with Dingdong Dantes.”
Irma is married to writer-director Dennis Marasigan. They’re now grandparents. Their eldest daughter (one of twins), Ira Patricia, who’s a singer, has given them a grandson and a granddaughter who now live with them after Ira split from their dad.

ABS-CBN has released the teaser trailer of upcoming primetime fantaserye “Galema: Anak ni Zuma” topbilled by Andi Eigenmann where she plays the titular character “Galema,” the daughter of the Pinoy Komiks character “Zuma.”
Andi Eigenmann will be joined by her “Agua Bendita” leading man Matteo Guidicelli. Completing the cast are Sunshine Cruz, Sheryl Cruz and Lito Legaspi.

The famous Janet Lim Napoles wanted to earn extra as she filed a P40-million worth libel case against Rappler online news reporter Natashya Gutierrez, lawyer-blogger Berteni Causing, fashion designer Eduardo Baddeo and well as Philippine Daily Inquirer publisher Raul Pangalangan. Each complaint will cost P10 million in damages and attorneys' fees if they are found guilty
Napoles, now wanted by authorities for alleged serious illegal detention brought about by the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam scandal, filed libel complaints in the Office of the City Prosecutor in Taguig City on August 6 and 7 according to the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility (CMFR).
Napoles claimed in her libel complaint that her daughter Jeane had to be hospitalized because of the maliscious reports on her lavish lifestyle using government funds.
Libel is a criminal offense in the Philippines, which can result in imprisonment for up to 6 years, a fine, or both.

When asked if he would be open to reprise his role as Aiza Seguerra's love team in ABS-CBN hit daytime series "Be Careful With My Heart," Kapuso actor Tom Rodriguez quickly replied, "In a heartbeat!"
"Miss na miss ko sila, 'yung grupo, sina Aiza (Seguerra), sila Tita Sylvia (Sanchez), si Tita Divina (Valencia), si JM (Ibanez) 'yung bata, lahat nakaka-miss. Kaya we try to keep in touch naman," Tom told ABS-CBN News on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old actor who is now fast becoming a household name courtesy of his latest GMA-7 primetime series "My Husband's Lover," used to portray a doting dad named Jeff to his and lesbian bestfriend Kute's love child Pocholo whom he called "Junior Pards" in the Kapamilya "kilig-serye".
Tom's last scene as Jeff saw him saying goodbye to Kute and the rest of her family, as he prepared to leave for Dubai to become an overseas worker.
Tom also said that he is very much willing to return to the Kapamilya series if given the chance.
"If I'm given a chance to get to work with them, in a heartbeat I would take it."
He also expressed willingness to appear in the upcoming film version of "Be Careful With My Heart," which will compete in the Metro Manila Film Festival in December.
