Only 'Ika-6 Na Utos' Rates High Among Kapuso Afternoon Soaps, But In Primetime, GMA-7 Shows Edge Out Competition

GMA-7's 'IKA-6 na Utos" is undoubtedly the number one afternoon drama, rivaling the AGB Nielsen NUTAM ratings of "Eat Bulaga" at noontime, but the other Kapuso afternoon soaps should work double time as their rival ABS-CBN's afternoon shows seem to attract more viewers. These are "Pusong Ligaw", "The Better Half", and Maja Salvador's "Wildflower" that is giving very tough competition to Willie Revillame's "Wowowin".

But on primetime, GMA-7's dramas are doing fine, with their evening shows often edging out the competition, from "24 Oras" and "Encantadia" to "Destined to Be Yours" and "Meant to Be". "Encantadia" is about to end on May 19, to be replaced by another telefantasya, "Mulawin Vs. Ravena", and "Destined to Be Yours" will soon follow, to be replaced by Jennylyn Mercado's adaptation of the hit Koreanovela, "My Love from the Star".

Let's see if these new Kapuso shows will also be able to rate well on primetime. Meantime, "Meant to Be", continues to win a lot of hearts and will be extended until June since it succeeds in clobbering its rival at the surveys. This light-hearted romance top billed by Barbie Forteza has found the right

mix of romance and comedy, with attractive newcomers that help to hold the attention of their loyal viewers. Their personal appearances and shows all over the country are all big hits. This May 14, don't miss them at Robinsons Angeles and on May 20, at Magayon Festival in Legaspi, Bicol.
