SHOW DESCRIPTION: Magpakailanman (English: Forevermore) is a weekly anthology of inspiring stories of the GMA Network (Philippines). Magpakailanman features the life experiences of famous personalities and ordinary people who loved and lost on their way to success. The show is hosted by broadcaster Mel Tiangco.

The first incarnation of the show aired its last original episode on December 27, 2007 and was replaced by the E.S.P. TV series. While the succeeding show was then still under production, reruns of Magpakailanman were aired until January 31, 2008. Reruns of Magpakailanman were aired on GMA Life TV.

On its 10th anniversary, Magpakailanman will return to the Philippine television, starting November 17, 2012. Mel Tiangco will also return as the host/narrator.

SHOW DESCRIPTION: Pepito Manaloto, Ang Tunay na Kuwento is different from the previous season. It is a stand-alone show that follows the ordinary life of an ordinary person who was blessed with extraordinary luck.

The Manalotos' rags-to-riches experience earned them a TV show, but because they thought it didn't reveal the true story, they had the TV network responsible scrap it. Instead, they came up with the idea to show exactly what goes on in the Manaloto household by having a camera crew film their lives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The merry mix of characters of Pepito and his wife Elsa, their children Chito and Clarissa, their house help Patrick, Maria, Robert, Baby and their neighbors Tommy, plus the mother-daughter tandem of Deedee and Mimi, will bring more color to the life story of Pepito Manaloto.

These different characters surrounding Pepito will definitely make his life a lot more interesting.

SHOW DESCRIPTION: Beginning November 10, GMA News and Public Affairs - the only four-time Peabody Award recipient in the country – unveils dynamic changes in its award winning newscasts, particularly in GMA7's primetime newscast 24 Oras, late-night news source Saksi and midday news bulletin Balitanghali on GMA News TV.

24 Oras' formidable and time-tested tandem of Mel Tiangco and Mike Enriquez will welcome veteran journalist Vicky Morales as their newest co-anchor. Joining forces, they become the triumvirate to beat on primetime news.

24 Oras has been a household name since 2004 when GMA News and Public Affairs launched what would be the Kapuso Network's flagship nationwide primetime newscast. The program has since served the need of viewers for non-biased and balanced news, and later even extended broadcast to include weekends.

Monday will also see the rebranding of GMA's regional newscasts into the 24 Oras brand, delivering the news in the distinct 24 Oras style all over the country.

Late-night news source Saksi, led by Arnold Clavio, meanwhile, will have Pia Arcangel on board as its newest co-anchor. Seasoned broadcast journalist Connie Sison, on the other hand, will take over as Raffy Tima's co-anchor in the leading midday newscast Balitanghali, which airs daily on GMA News TV.

Weekend news program 24Oras Weekend will still be headlined by Jiggy Manicad and Pia Arcangel, while Mariz Umali and Jun Veneracion anchor Balitanghali Weekend.

With new anchors on board, expect these fortified news programs to continue providing the public with balanced and unbiased news.

PART 5 Penekula Revisited: BEWARE BED SINS (1985) Starring SARSI EMMANUELLE

I only heard of that genre of Pinoy films called penekula when I started writing this blog. That's the way they called movies with actual penetration scenes. They were big in 1985 & 1986 before everything became more timid (there were allegedly more than 40 penekula movies, not counting the bomba of the 1970's & bold films in-between). Mainstream movies with frontal nudity & actual sex scenes. So next time, don't believe that pauto that millenials had it more modern in everything. In a big way, they are actually mere muted reaction to livelier times in our mainstream cultural history.

I became very curious about penekulas since discovering them. I have already started my own collection. We have here a 1985 film by one of the country's most celebrated directors no less, Mario O'Hara. It had no penetration scene yet (they became more vogue in 1986) but there were cunnilingus & fellation scenes. Imagine if they do those now...

Again, what if Arci Muñoz or Ellen Adarna bring back 1985 again to 2017?
