The Amazing Race PH 2 Update: AJ and Jody Saliba Bids the Competition in a Heartbreaking Goodbye

Team Mag-ama AJ and Jody Saliba wins hearts of netizens in an emotional episode of The Amazing Race Philippines. The last pit stop episode was very emotional due to the determination and toughness shown by 52-year-old AJ Saliba of Team Mag-Ama. AJ kept on pushing his limit for his son Jody, which eventually led to a painful accident. Everyone thought the race is done for these two, but Derek announced a twist that shocked everyone.

Despite leading in the fifth week’s virtual pit stop and eventually winning the sixth week’s super-Leg, Team Mag-ama dropped to the last spot as other teams conspired to work against them to catch up.

As the Race takes the teams from Cebu to Bohol, the father and son duo seemed to have lost their luck and struggled in finishing the challenges that came their way. And with four teams using the Yield card to further delay them, AJ and Jody’s chances to get closer to the pit stop became bleak. Still, they managed to catch up with team Nerds Vincent Yu and Ed Manguan, and team Mr. Pogi Kelvin Engles and JP Duray

Unfortunately, the final challenge, which required them to cross hammock trails between palm trees without failing, turned out to be the most difficult challenge of the week.

Team Chefs Eji Estillore and Roch Hernandez were first to finish the task after experiencing their share of painful falls. They eventually arrived first to the pit stop and won the PHP 200,000 pit stop cash prize from Rexona. Team Dating Couple Matthew Edwards and Phoebe Walker came in second, followed by team Magkapatid Jet and Yna Cruz who secured the third spot.

Kelvin was brought to tears after completing the painstaking task which earned team Mr. Pogi their right to the fourth spot, while the Nerds decided to give up the challenge and take a 90-minute penalty, hoping AJ’s old age would stop the 52-year-old father from completing the task.

After hours of agonizing and heartbreaking attempts, AJ still wasn’t able to finish the task. The Nerds finished their penalties and were able to get ahead of them, eventually securing the fifth and final safe spot for themselves. As if their series of unfortunate events was not enough, AJ suffered a sprain on his leg after an excruciating fall, which made Jody decide to plead for his father to stop and accept their loss.

With race master Derek waiting to announce team Mag-ama's undeniable fate, even the Kapatid actor had difficulty holding back his tears after witnessing the father and son's admirable determination and will to win. Netizens watching at home also expressed their high regard for AJ on social media, as they themselves were brought to tears by his resilience. To everyone’s surprise, Derek announced that it was a non-elimination leg and team Mag-ama still has a chance to redeem themselves.

With only two remaining weeks to go, teams are expected to now give everything they got as they face more challenges towards the final pit stop.

Powered by Rexona and sponsored by PLDT Home Telpad, Summit Natural Drinking Water, Kia, RCD Royal Homes, Shell, and Resorts World Manila, The Amazing Race Philippines airs at 9PM daily, exclusively on TV5.

Spotted: Angel Locsin lifts weight. What about her spine? OMG!

"Not your typical girls."

This was the caption that went with the picture posted by Instagram user @betinabordeos which shows a group of ladies doing what men usually do - powerlifting! One of them is kapamilya actress Angel Locsin.

We know Angel is doing Darna on the big screen in 2015 and that she needs to undergo training to keep her fit but didn't expect weightlifting will be one of those. It's just a guy's thing!

We're kinda shocked as Angel had problems with her spine. Not long ago when the actress underwent a chiropractic treatment in one clinic in Manila to treat her aching back and neck.

Mark Neumann And Shaira Mae's 'Mr. Popular Meets Miss Nobody' On Wattpad Presents Is Such A Hit It Now Has A Sequel

MARK NEUMANN and Shaira Mae de la Cruz couldn’t believe it that their mini-series in “Wattpad Presents”, “Mr. Popular Meet Miss Nobody”, where they played Kyle and Chelsea, is the highest rater among all the stories aired in the show.

“We’re really happy with the support we got from the viewers,” says Mark. “TV5 management told us there’s a clamor to find out what happened to the characters Shaira and I played so we now come up with the sequel to give in to the numerous requests of viewers. In Book Two, there’s much resistance sa love namin ni Shaira for each other, especially from my own father who is arranging a marriage for me and Yassi Pressman. So I have to fight for our love ni Shaira.”

Book Two started airing last night at 9 PM, co-starring Lander Vera Perez, Shirley Fuentes, Diego Loyzaga, Pam Mendiola, Donnalyn Bartolome, Bryan Olano, Prince Navarro and Perla Bautista.
