WE WERE INVITED by GMA's most charming and fashionable program manager, Hazel Abonita, to the press preview of the pilot episode and other choice scenes of GMA-7's new sexy romantic comedy, "The One that Got Away". It sets up the premise of the story, which is about a an elusive bachelor and his relationship with three of his past girlfriends, and establishes the background and personalities of each one of the major characters.
The story starts with a panoramic drone shot of the beautiful Thunderbird Resort in La Union and the first character we see is Lovi Poe as Alex, dressed in an elegant wedding gown. You'd think she's a beautiful bride in her own nuptials, but it turns out she's only a model participating in an event in the resort.
By chance, Dennis Trillo as Liam is also there to receive an award, and when they see each other, you could easily surmise that something romantic happened between in the past. Also in the resort at that time is Rhian Ramos as Zoe, a swimwear designer who is there for a fashion show where she models the fabulous revealing swimsuit that she herself has designed. She and Dennis see each other by chance in the elevator and again, it's obvious that they have an intriguing past between them.
Next to show up is Max Collins as Darcy, a fitness trainer working in the resort, and when she and Dennis see each other, it also becomes apparent that they used to be in love with each other. In fairness to Dennis as Liam, in the flashbacks, it is shown that he's not a womanizer who had an affair with the three of them all at the same time. He was on with them one at a time. Also, it's not him who broke up with them, but it's them who dumped him.
Dennis actually proposed marriage to Lovi, complete with a ring, but she rejects him as she's not ready yet to get married at that time (2014). With Rhian, she broke up with Dennis because she felt he's too busy with his work and has no time for her. For Max, she was working abroad and they're having an LDR (long distance relationship) when she suspected that Dennis is cheating her with another woman, so she decides to call it quits with him. But the truth is that Dennis has been faithful to him all along.
Now that they all see Dennis again, the three girls realized that they all still carry the torch for him and each one now tries to make a way to get back his attention. But as luck would have it, Dennis figures in a car accident and goes into coma just when each one of the girls think that he's ready to reconcile with her. They all rush to the hospital where Dennis is confined and get the shock of their lives when another girl shows up in Dennis room and introduces herself as his current girlfriend, Sophie Albert, who looks so lovely and alluring in that scene where she face all the three girls who, in all fairness, are all beautiful and sexy themselves.
So, TOTGA is off to a good and promising start. Don't miss the pilot episode where the three main leading ladies try to outdo each other in their own sexy and comedic scenes. In the first episode, we are introduced to Luz Valdez as Dennis' Mama Ya, and we also meet the family of Lovi, with Snooky Serna and Bembol Roco as her parents, Jason Abalos as her Kuya and Ayra Mariano as her younger sister. In the next episodes, we'll meet Migo Adecer as Rhian's younger brother, Ivan Dorschner as Dennis' best friend and Ervic Vijandre as Max' parasitic brother who depends on her.

Joross Gamboa Ends 2017 As A Closet Gay In 'Dedma Walking' And Starts 2018 As A Married Gay Having An Affair With JC De Vera In 'Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes'
JOROSS GAMBOA ended 2017 playing a gay role in "Dedma Walking" and starts 2018 playing another gay role in "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes" as the closet queen husband of Judy Ann Santos who gets the shock of her ife when she discovered that her husband is gay and having an affair with JC De Vera, who is the husband of Angelica Panganiban.
"Kinain ko yung salita ko," says Joross. "Kasi after 'Dedma Walking', na extended pa po in some theaters, sabi ko, di muna ako gagawa ng gay role. Pero heto, tinanggap ko itong 'Dalawang Mrs. Reyes' kaya tuloy lang ang pagrampa ko. Buti na lang, pag-uwi ko ng bahay, nandun yung misis ko to remind me na lalaki pa rin ako."
He says "Dalawang Mrs. Reyes" is a project that is difficult to say no to. "E, paano ko naman ito hindi tatanggapin? For the first time, makakapareha ko ang isang Judy Ann Santos. Dati ko pang sinasabi na makaeksena ko lang siya, masampal lang niya ako, maligaya na ako. Pero dito, hindi naman niya ako nasampal kahit nalaman niya ang lihim ko. At paano ko ito tatanggihan, e kapareha ko rin dito si JC De Vera? Sabi, kailangang may kilig kaming dalawa at nakita ko, first day pa lang, naramdaman na naming may chemistry pala kami. Ha ha ha!"
Was it hard to play someone in love with JC? "Hindi naman. Matagal na kaming friends, e. Lagi kaming magkasama sa paglalaro ng basketball at nagche-chest bump pa kami niyan. Yung ball ko, ipinapasa ko sa kanya. Kinukuha naman niya. Ha ha ha!"
In the movie, they joined the gay parade in Taiwan and that's where their respective wives, Juday and Angelica Panganiban, got to confirm that they're homosexuals having a gay-to-gay relationship, with Joross dressed in drag and JC as a construction worker ala-Village People. "We had so much fun making this movie and we're sure hahagalpak ang mga tao sa maraming eksena rito kaya abangan nila ang movie when it opens in theaters on January 17."

Regine Velasquez Back At MOA Arena For A Valentine Concert In A Foursome With Her Husband And Two Other Guys
REGINE VELASQUEZ had a very successful two-night concert for her 30th anniversary in showbiz last October. Now, she'll be back in the same venue for her Valentine concert with husband Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera and Eric Ramos. "#PaMORE". This is produced by her sister CacaI Mitra's I-Music Entertainment with Ana Puno's Star Media, with Louie Ocampo and Raul Mitra as musical directors, and Paolo Valenciano as stage director. At the show's presscon, since the title of their show is Pa-MORE, the four singers were asked what more can they ask for in their lives.
"Honestly, for me, I cannot ask for more," says Regine. "Kasi sa career ko, I've already been so blessed. But for my family, I want to ask for good health always."
"For OPM, I'm happy kasi masigla ngayon at ang daming singers nating nagko-concert," says Ogie. "But sana, maging pantay ang tingin sa local and foreign artists. Kasi as of now, mas favored talaga ang foreign artists. For me naman, I'm having a 30th anniversary concert in September, sana suportahan ng mga tao."
"Ako, I don't really plan," says Erik Santos. "I just take each day as it comes. Itong concert with three icons in local music, answered prayer and dream come true ito for me. My prayer is that I would last long in this business na gaya nila, sa kabila ng napakaraming nagsusulputang bagong singers ngayon sa napakaraming singing contests we have now."
And how about Martin? What more can he ask for? "More sex," everybody laughs because of his reply. "Oh yeah! Kulang na, e. But really, I want to have more of everything. More shows and concerts like this. Kasi I don't see myself slowing down and I just want to go on singing."
Since Regine and Ogie are husband and wife in real life, their show will be very special as they haven't performed together in a Valentine show for a long time now. Regine says that despite seven years of marriage, Ogie remains so sweet to her.
"Araw-araw pa rin niya akong pinapakilig," she says. "Minsan, bigla na lang akong bibigyan ng flowers or gifts, kahit no occasion. Or bigla akong susunduin at sasabihin sa'kin, 'Can I date you out?' Sasabihin ko naman, 'I'll ask my parents muna, kasi strict sila.' So I can't complain kasi any relationship naman, you have to work on it to be successful and my husband is very good in doing that. Kinakantahan pa niya ako at binibigyan ng letters and cards. Ginagaya na nga siya ng anak naming si Nate sa pagiging malambing sa akin."
Don't miss "PaMORE" on February 10 at MOA Arena. You can get your tickets now at SM Tickets, 470-2222.
