Anne Curtis Cried Out Of Pity When She Visited Vhong Navarro In The Hospital (2 Photos)
ANNE CURTIS attended the launch of Viva’s Pinoy Box Office (PBO) as the newest partner of Skycable, the country’s biggest digital cable TV provider with 180 SD and HD channels. She looks so tanned these days because she’s taping “Dyesebel” under the sun in Coron, Palawan. Is this the reason why she’s said to be leaving “Showtime”?
“No, I’m not leaving it,” she says. “I’ll be absent every now and then but every time I’m free, you’ll still see me in it. Yung pilot week lang ang ite-tape namin in Coron and the rest will be on a beach nearer to Manila. Tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang training ko sa Mermaid’s Academy. My trainer performs underwater tricks at Manila Ocean Park at yun ang itinuturo niya sa amin, including the boys who play siokoy kasi pati sila, may buntot rin dito made of fitted silicone. Talagang sinukatan kaming isa-isa. And tuloy-tuloy rin ang shooting ko sa ‘The Gifted’ with Sam Milby and Cristine Reyes, a dark comedy written and directed by Chris Martinez. Dapat last year pa ito, but I didn’t have time to shoot kasi I did a lot of shows abroad, so wala ako kahit isang movie last year.”
So she’s with Sam in both her newest TV and movie projects. “Yes, and okay lang kasi we kept our friendship naman. Ang galing na niya talaga ngayong mag-Tagalog. He always talks to me in Tagalog. Talagang kina-career niya.”
Has she visited “Showtime” co-host Vhong Navarro in the hospital? “Yes. Naiyak nga ako. What happened to him is really scary. Napakabait niya so I don’t believe what he’s accused of doing. I’m always praying for him at sana mabigyan siya ng justice.”
She’s now busy recording her new album and she’s planning to hold more concerts here and abroad. “My problem is gumaganda na talaga ang boses ko,” she laughs. “Dati, nakakatawa kasi disintunado, but now, everyone says may improvement na. Nahahasa na siguro. Baka hanapin ng tao yung disintunado ako.”
She and BF Erwan Heussaff seems so cozy. Do they plan to tie the knot soon? “No, siguro when I’m 32. Ayoko namang too late na para mag-baby ako. But as of now, we’re both so busy. He has put up two new restaurant, Pink Panda near A Venue in Makati and Nini Ichinana at The Fort. Sosyo rin sila ng sister niya, si Solenn, in Hatch 22 at Powerplant Mall.”
Anne’s hit movies and her concerts will be one of the top attractions of PBO (represented at the launch by Viva exec Vincent del Rosario) and SkyCable (represented by COO Ray Montinola). With Viva and Sky now partners, timeless Pinoy classic films and very new blockbusters like “It Takes a Man and a Woman” of Sarah Geronimo, plus sold out concerts of top artists like Mark Bautista’s “Sound of Love”, will now be shown 24/7. PBO is available in Bronze, Silver, Gold and Dual Def plans. Vina clears Cedric of physical abuse charges
This is how actress Vina Morales’ lawyer, Ariel Radovan, speaking in her behalf, described reports that businessman Cedric Lee inflicted physical violence on her.
“For the record, contrary to what has been aired or written, our Firm maintains and so holds that the news tidbits with reference to the infliction of the physical violence at any given time to her person by Mr. Lee is purely fictional, conjectural and speculative,” the press statement read.
‘Give her peace’
Radovan asked the public to respect this privacy.
"The Navarro-Lee affair is beyond Miss Morales. Let us endeavor to give her peace."
He also appealed to everyone to spare Vina and her daughter from "negative, undue and unjust publicity," as they are not involved in the issue between Vhong and Cedric.
Vhong and Cedric are facing a legal battle after the actor-host accused the latter and several men of attacking and threatening him in a condominium unit on January 22.
Vhong, on the other hand, was accused of raping 22-year-old student Deniece Cornejo. Vhong has denied the charges.
Police security
A report on TV Patrol on Tuesday, February 4, said that Cedric requested for police security. But the security was terminated in 2012 after Vina accused Cedric of physical abuse.
In an interview with PEP last year, Vina said she's a 'member' of the 9262 Club, composed of actresses who filed charges on the violation of R.A. 9262, or Violence Against Women and their Children Act against their husbands or partners. She later changed her statement and said that she's not part of the group.
Vina posted intriguing quotes on her Instagram when news about Cedric and Vhong broke out.

Phoemela Baranda moves on
The Viva artist got her fair share of bashers after she denied on national TV that Anne Curtis told her, ”I can buy you, your friends, and this club!” at Club Prive late last year.
“I’m moving forward and onwards in 2014. Ganon naman. May haters and lovers. I’ve accepted it as part of being a public figure,” she said at the launch of the Pinoy Box Office-Skycable partnership Wednesday, February 6.
“Masakit ang mga nega. But that’s their own opinion. Gusto nila mahirapan ang tao,” the actress said further.
Quick fix
Instead of letting the haters ruin her day, Phoemela resorts to a quick fix. She just deletes them from her Facebook and Twitter accounts “pag may time.”
Instead of crying over spilled milk, Phoemela would rather look at the whole thing as a learning experience.
“Wala akong pinagsisihan sa sinabi ko. Marami akong natutunan. You have to think of both sides (when giving a statement).”
No regrets
Now that some of the haters are back, care of her cover photo for the February issue of FHM Magazine, Phoemela has learned to focus on her supporters instead.
“Ten percent lang naman ang nagsabing huwag bumili kasi matanda na ako.”
She strongly disagrees.
“At this age (33), okay pa.”
Unlike Alice Dixson, another FHM cover girl, Phoemela feels comfortable with the way she looks on the cover.
More mature, sophisticated
“Mas mature, mas sophisticated. And I trusted the team composed of my stylist, makeup artist and others.”
Phoemela admitted she told her 15-year-old daughter she has an FHM shoot, but since the girl is a minor, her mom doesn’t think she should be exposed to the magazine yet.
Old FHM issues are still in their house though. And Phoem won’t be surprised if her daughter has leafed through them.
She adds that the seductive pose is as far as she can dare go.
Not as daring
Phoemela says she won’t be as daring before the TV or movie cameras.
”Iba pag moving camera. Mahirap i-photo shop.”
Like Alice, Phoemela would rather take on seductive roles on TV.
“Acting ang hindi ko pa nabigyan ng oras (she had a short part in the defunct “Maria Mercedes”). Now I have time for it.”
Also present at the PBO-Skycable launch were Anne Curtis, Jon Santos and Andrea del Rosario.
