Simula May 6, ang inaabangang pagbabalik ng Kapuso Primetime Queen na si Marian Rivera sa komedya ay matutupad na dahil pagbibidahan niya ang pikabagong handog ng Kapuso network, ang Tweets for my Sweet.
 
Ang Tweets for my Sweet ay kwento ng isang dalagang nagngangalang Meg (Marian Rivera) na lumaki sa probinsya kung saan magsisikap siya para makamit ang pinapangarap at maisakatuparan ang kagustuhang makapagtayo ng cafe
 
Nagpahayag naman ng sobrang kasiyahan si Marian, dahil sa panibagong biyayang kanyang natanggap. “Sobra akong natutuwa dahil ibinigay sa akin ang programang ito at magkakaroon ako ng pagkakataon upang makatrabaho ang ilan sa mga taong hinahangaan ko sa industriya. Kaya dapat nilang abangan ang Tweets For My Sweet dahil pasasayahin nito ang weekend ng bawat kapuso."

Richard on love life: I want to keep it private

Although Richard Gutierrez admits he is dating someone, the Kapuso star says he wants to keep that part of his life away from the limelight.

“For me po kasi, I want to keep things private. I want to keep it that way. I want to keep part of it private, for my own sanity,” the 28-year-old actor-host told members of the press at the launch of GMA-7’s travel-adventure show “Pinoy Adventures” on Tuesday, May 8.

Richard explains that he’s very quiet about his personal life since he does not “want it to be chaotic.” And while his love life is no longer a complete secret, Richard would rather “not go into the details.”

“Ngayon di na rin siya private kasi napag-uusapan natin, but I just don’t want to go into details. Let’s just not dwell into the details.”

He did reveal, however, that the woman he is dating is non-showbiz.

Happy with life

Richard describes his love life as “Siguro kasing adventurous ng Pinoy Adventures.”

He adds that he’s happy with every aspect of his life—not just his love life.

“Masaya ako sa lahat ng aspeto ng buhay ko ngayon. Sa love life, sa work, sa family life ko,” he shared.

After being in the entertainment industry for over 10 years now (he returned to the country from the US in 2001), Richard says he’s at the point of his career and his life where he knows himself and what he wants.

“I know the people who are there for me. And I’m just blessed to realize that at this point,” he said.

The actor refuses to comment on Amalia Fuentes’ libel case against older sister Ruffa Gutierrez but says “my sister knows what to do.”

What matters most, Richard says, is that their “family and friends know the truth.”

“We’re here to support our sister no matter what,” he adds. “A lot of people are trying to put us down now but we’re staying strong as a family and we know our friends, we know who loves us. That’s what keeps us strong and we know the truth.”

‘Mas ako ito’

“Pinoy Adventures” is Richard’s first regular TV show this year after “Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Doubles Showdown” ended last February.

The show is quite similar to his previous documentaries “Oras Na” and “Anatomy of a Disaster.” However, instead of focusing on environmental issues, “Pinoy Adventures” is more about Richard’s journeys into far-flung corners of the country.

According to Richard, his work here is right up his alley since he’s passionate about traveling and sports.

“Enjoy ako dito kasi mas ako ito, mas hilig ko ito. Yung ‘Survivor’kasi, it’s a game. Medyo serious yun. Ito, more of really getting to know me. I’m sharing myself and my experiences to the audience. So it’s really about opening up to the audience. Showing them what I like and what I enjoy.”

He shares that one of the most memorable places they visited for the show is Linapacan, Palawan, a small town between El Nido and Puerto Princesa that has 16th century Spanish forts and churches.

Richard shares that traveling to such places isn’t for everyone, but he “enjoys the adventure of travel.”

As for places he wants to visit, Richard says they’re planning to do a summit special, wherein they’ll climb the likes of Mount Guiting-Guiting in Sibuyan Island, Romblon, Mount Pulag in Northern Luzon, and other mountains in Benguet.

Aside from “Pinoy Adventures,” Richard is doing “Makapiling Kang Muli,” an upcoming primetime drama which will also star Carla Abellana and Sarah Lahbati.
How does he manage his schedule?

“The whole system is one week for the soap opera, and one week for ‘Pinoy Adventures.’ More or less I have a day or two for rest. And I try to rest as much as I can pag may down time sa taping,” he shares.

“Pinoy Adventures” premieres Sunday, May 13 on GMA-7.

TV5 to take ‘necessary actions’ over Tulfo’s brothers’ remarks

The Kapatid network will take necessary actions, following the on-air remarks of brothers Erwin, Ben, and Raffy Tulfo in their public affairs program “T3: Kapatid, Sagot Kita.”

The Tulfo brothers' no holds barred statements on the airport scuffle incident involving their brother Mon and celebrity couple Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto caught the attention of MTRCB.

In a statement sent to Yahoo! Philippines OMG! and other media outfits Tuesday, May 8, TV5 said: “News5 assures the public and all parties concerned that the statements made by the Tulfo brothers in its program, T3, last May 7, 2012, were unscripted, spontaneous, and do not in any way reflect the stand nor the policy of the network, its management, and its employees.

“While we understand the emotions at play during the broadcast, News5 does not and will not condone such behavior. It was not only uncalled for but also runs counter to the established Code of Ethics that we all strictly adhere to.

“We are taking necessary actions to deal with this lapse in judgment on the part of the Tulfo brothers and assure the public that we remain committed to objective and impartial journalism.”

The brothers said in a recent “T3” episode: “Ako din, nagkikita tayo sa airport, ipagdasal mo lang muna at ipinapayo ko sa iyo at sa asawa mo, huwag ka munang lumabas sana. Dahil kapag nagpaabot tayo sa NAIA Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, tatamaan at tatamaan ka," Erwin said. "Wala akong pakialam, pati asawa mo, tatamaan sa akin. Ipagdasal mo na lamang na huwag tayong magkrus ng landas."
Meanwhile, Ben said: Raymart, pakinggan mo ang sasabihin ko sa iyo: Binabangga ko ang mga kriminal, mamatay-tao, matinong tao. Pero kung ang gusto mo—malaking warehouse, sarado, naghihintay ang ambulansiya. Last man standing, lalabas sa loob, magsasara tayo ng pinto. Titingnan ko ang galing mo. Tandaan mo ‘to."

Public apology

The brothers have apologized to those offended by their television remarks a day after the said "T3" episode.

“Kung kayo ho ay... kung hindi ninyo nagustuhan, kahit hindi kayo kasama sa problemang ito, ang amin pong paumanhin... Maging ang aming ina ay hindi nagustuhan dahil ito raw ay pagbabanta," Erwin said Tuesday, May 8 over his Radyo Singko program “Punto Asintado.”

Mon himself expressed disapproval over his brothers’actions.

“Maling-mali sila roon. Pinagalitan ko sila kahapon. Sabi ko bakit naman sila ganoon,” he said in a TV interview on Tuesday, May 8.

Magic suspends Mo, fellow DJs for Charice hashtag

Radio DJs Mo Twister (Mohan Gumatay), Suzy (Tin Gamboa) and Mia Bayuga of Magic 89.9 were suspended two weeks for putting “an objectionable hashtag about Charice Pempengco on Twitter.”

The three started the Twitter hashtag #charicepempengcosextape “as a joke” while their show “Good Times” was on air on Wednesday morning, May 9. The hashtag also trended on Twitter locally.

Magic 89.9 released a statement on its official Facebook account and said that the station does not condone the act. An apology to Charice will be made on Thursday, May 10, following the suspension of the three DJs.

The full statement reads, “The management of Today’s Best Music Magic 89.9 does not condone what happened this morning, May 9, 2012 on Good Times. As a joke, the 3 DJs started an objectionable hashtag about Charice Pempengco on Twitter. And apology to Ms. Pempengco shall be made tomorrow morning, May 10, 2012 on the said radio show. Furthermore, as self-regulation, the DJs involved shall be suspended from boardwork for two weeks without pay as consequence of their actions.”

Mo also took the opportunity to apologize to Charice on Twitter. He said sorry for the “stupid behavior and immature attempt to generate laughs” and hurting Charice’s feelings.

'Stupid, cruel joke'

“I want to take the opportunity to apologize to Charice for a stupid & cruel joke on our show today. We attempted to be funny at her expense and, in the process, hurt her feelings. It’s with deep regret that we have come to learn that. On behalf of @suzy899 and @mia899, we apologize Charice for our stupid behavior and immature attempt to generate laughs,” Mo tweeted.

He added that they are proud of Charice’s achievements, but failed to show their appreciation on their radio show today.

“You have worked so very hard, not just for yourself and your family, but to put our country in a positive light, to promote immense Filipino talent, and you have done that successfully. We are sorry. You’ve been nothing but supportive of our show in the past. We failed to show failed to show our appreciation today.”

Mo also asked listeners to “no longer contribute to that made up hashtag.” Mo announced that he, Suzy and Mia will issue a public apology to Charice and her fans on Thursday.

“For those we tried to entertain today with our dumb attempt at being funny, I ask you no longer contribute to that made up hashtag. It holds no truth to it. @suzy899, @Mia899 and I would like to apologize publicly tomorrow on our radio show to Charice and her fans,” Mo tweeted.

Andi: My mom never hurt me

(UPDATE) Andi Eigenmann denied on Twitter that her mother, Jaclyn Jose, beat her up.

The denial came after Rina Casiño, mother of her ex-boyfriend, Albie Casiño said in a TV Patrol interview on Monday, May 7 that Jaclyn would allegedly beat up Andi whenever she (Jaclyn) got drunk.

In the interview, Rina showed how disappointed she was over Andi’s statement that Albie used to abuse her physically when they were still together.

“Sobra na para sabihin mo na binugbog ka ng anak ko. Tama na ang kasinungalingan mo. It’s too much, Andi. Too much,” Rina said.

She revealed that Andi used to confide in her whenever Jaclyn allegedly beat her up. Rina explained that she kept the incident a secret because she was protecting Andi.

“Sa akin ka tumatakbo noon para sa mommy mo. Alalahanin mo iyon. Umiiyak ka sa akin about your mom na alcoholic, na beating you up kapag nakakainom kaya nila-lock mo ‘yung door mo. Kaya ayaw ko magsalita dati kasi I was still protecting you,” Rina said.

Andi’s tweet on the night of May 7 cleared up the issue. “I know it doesnt matter, because its up to the viewers to decide. But for the record, my mom never hurt me. NEVER.”

Jaclyn reacts

Jaclyn Jose has denied laying a hand on daughter Andi Eigenmann, even if Rina Casiño, mother of Albie Casino (Andi’s ex-girlfriend) claimed that the veteran actress is an alcoholic who beat up her own child.

“I am not an alcoholic, been working in this business for a long time. Kung alcoholic ako, wala sana akong trabaho. Alam ng industry ang record ko how professional I am and hindi kailan man binugbog ang anak ko,”Jaclyn said in a statement sent to TV Patrol on Tuesday, May 8.

Jaclyn also denied hitting Andi, saying that she didn’t even lay a finger on her when she got pregnant. She also said that she didn’t raise her children as liars.

“Noong nabuntis nga ni pitik hindi ko nagawa. Pinalaki ko ang mga anak ko nang walang palo at mahusay na pakikipag-usap lang at lalong hindi ko pinakalaking sinungaling ang mga anak ko.”

There is really no stopping Mo Twister when it comes to making himself uber famous by doing deeds he's most famous about. His latest victim? Charice.

Mo, with his co-DJs Tin Gamboa and Mia Bayuga, received a 2-week suspension starting today from their boss at Magic 89.9 for putting a Twitter hashtag #charicepempengcosextape as part of their morning show “GoodTimes” this morning.

Said hashtag immediately became the top local trending topic on Twitter this morning.

In a statement, Magic 89.9 said the station “does not condone what happened this morning, May 9, 2012 on GoodTimes.”

Magic 89.9 said "the DJs involved shall be suspended from boardwork for two weeks without pay as consequence of their actions.”

Charice, meantime, in her official Twitter account said she thought Gumatay was nice and that he was “unbelievable.”

“Too bad. Remember, you interviewed me? I thought you were nice. anyway, I should talk to you FACE TO FACE. :)” she said.

Charice added she hopes Gumatay has a “good lawyer,” hinting that she would file a case against the controversial radio jockey.

“It's my birthday tomorrow.. I just can't wait to go back to the Philippines,” she said.

Charice is one of the judges on "The X Factor Philippines," which will start airing soon on ABS-CBN.

Magic 89.9 said it will issue a public apology to Charice on Thursday on the radio show.

Humataw agad sa national TV ratings ang pilot episode ng pinakapinananabikang fantaserye ng ABS-CBN tampok ang kauna-unahang teenage mermaid sa primetime TV, ang "Aryana" na pinagbibidahan ng 2008 FAMAS Best Child Actress na si Ella Cruz.

Base sa datos ng Kantar Media, nanguna sa timeslot nito ang "Aryana" taglay ang national TV ratings na 15.6% kumpara sa nakuha ng katapat nitong programa sa GMA na "Alice Bungisngis" na nakakuha lamang ng 11.7%.

Labis ang pasasalamat ni Ella sa mga manonood na tumutok sa pagbubukas ng kuwento ng kanyang karakter na si Aryana. "Thank you po sa lahat ng TV viewers na sumuporta sa amin. Mas marami pa po kayong dapat abangan sa mga susunod na episodes," aniya. "Abangan n'yo po ang pagdadalaga ni Aryana at kung paano siya magiging isang sirena."

Samantala, ngayong nanakaw na ni Neptuna (Desiree del Valle) ang sanggol na si Aryana mula sa ina nitong si Ofelia (Pokwang), paano niya maisasakatuparan ang plano niyang makaganti kay Victor (Tonton Gutierrez) na siyang nakapatay ng kanyang mahal na anak? Under the direction of Adam Shankman (“Hairspray”), New Line Cinema’s feature film adaptation of the smash hit Broadway musical “Rock of Ages” comes to the big screen.

“Rock of Ages” tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Their rock ‘n’ roll romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and more.

ABS-CBN’s royal drama “Princess and I” instantly won the hearts of viewers nationwide as it made it on the third spot of the overall top TV programs in the country based on data from the global industry-trusted multinational audience research group Kantar Media.

Will Cannes film open doors for Maui Taylor?

Maui Taylor is crossing her fingers her high-impact role as Eva the Filipina nanny in the Korean suspense-thriller “A Taste of Money” will open doors for her in the international scene.

The film is in competition in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and Maui thinks an award for the movie is enough to make her feel a winner herself.

Maui was the first to be surprised when she learned the Korean producers wanted her to star in the film after they downloaded her 2003 drama, “Ang Huling Birhen sa Lupa.” The producers were especially moved when they saw her crying in front of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

“They went to the hospital where I was rushed a few days before due to fatigue,” Maui recalls. “I remember the date: Oct. 30, 2011. They told me I needed to fly to Seoul on Nov. 2 for fitting of clothes, script reading and makeup testing.”

Negotiations continued over Skype since the producers had to leave the country at once.

Maui was in and out of the Philippines to shoot the movie in Korea for four months – from Nov. 2011 to Feb. 2012. The experience, she adds, was totally different from shooting a local movie.

“First, it was winter. Super lamig. At magaan ang trabaho. Ten hours a day lang ang work ko.”

Catching up on acting

Since she made her last local film three years ago, Maui admitted she had some catching up to do.

“Matindi. I had to internalize per scene. I had to prepare my scenes the night before kasi matagal na akong hindi gumagawa ng movies,” she ges on.

Korean dialogues were inevitable. Maui got some help from a Korean tutor who taught her how to say her lines and what they meant. She also sought help from makeup artists on the set.

“Nagtatanong ako how to say this and what it means. Natuto naman ako,” she reveals.

Some of the dialogues were easy for her because they were in English.

Maui is leaving again for Korea to attend the film’s VIP night on May 15. It will open in theaters in Korea a day after.

Filipinos have a big chance of seeing the film because Viva Entertainment big boss Vic del Rosario plans to buy its distribution rights.

Viva Hot Babes comeback

Meanwhile, Maui is all set to make a grand TV comeback when her group, the Viva Hot Babes returns via TV5. Maui reveals Katya Santos and Andrea del Rosario will join her in the group’s grand comeback.
Maui also wants to do another suspense thriller because she believes it’s her forte.

“Bata pa ko mahilig na ko manakot ng maid at mga pamangkin ko. Feeling ko mahilig ako manakot,” she explains.

She is also willing to do a teleserye.
