JENNYLYN MERCADO says she doesn’t think Mark Herras’ admission that he’s an unwed father will negatively affect his career. “Ang dami na namang ibang umamin na may anak sila before at tinanggap pa rin sila ng tao, so I don’t think it will be a problem,” she says. And this is true, among those who sired children out of wedlock whose careers still flourished are Aga Muhlach, Dennis Trillo, Piolo Pascual, Marvin Agustin and others.
“Ang importante, you deliver as an actor,” adds Jennylyn. “Kahit wala kang sabit, pero hindi naman convincing ang acting mo, wala rin, di ba?”
Jen is happy that the viewership of “Rhodora X” is increasing by the day. “Mas nagiging intriguing naman kasi talaga ang story. Grabe na ang kamalditahan ng alter ego ni Rhodora na si Roxanne. She framed up her own sister, Yasmien Kurdi as Angela, for the murder of Krista Miller as Trisha.”
This week, don’t miss the love scene inside a motel room between Jen as Roxanne and Mark Herras as Joaquin. “Sa tagal ng pagiging magkapareha namin ni Mark, ngayon lang kami gumawa ng ganito ka-daring na love scene kaya abangan nyo,” says Jen.
Meantime, Yasmien denies she’s the killer and even their parents, Gardo Versoza and Glydel Mercado, can’t believe that she’s capable of doing such a thing. She also told Mark that someone just set her up. Rhodora realizes that it’s her alter ego, Roxanne, who killed Trixie and she wanted to tell the truth but Roxanne, who has become more dominant and overpowering, restrains her. Roxanne even planted a piece of evidence, Angela’s necklace which is a gift from Mark, into the scene of the crime, making Mark believe that it’s really her who is the killer. Upon the suggestion of her lawyer, Yasmien pleads insanity. Inside her jail, she discovers she’s pregnant and Mark is the dad. Roxanne makes Mark drunk then takes him to a motel where they make love. Mark regrets this and decides to leave for abroad. Roxanne runs after him at the airport but fails to convince him not to leave.

Piolo almost bid showbiz goodbye
"I was seriously considering quitting (showbiz) this year pero, when the movie became a big hit, I said the joke is on me. I guess hindi pa po time para umalis ako sa showbiz," the hunk shared in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
"Starting Over Again," which also stars Toni Gonzaga and Iza Calzado, has grossed P375 million in three weeks.
An emotional Piolo expressed gratefulness to fans during the thanksgiving party for the film held on Tuesday, saying, "Thank you for always being there para sabihin sa akin na huwag akong tanga at huwag ko isipin na umalis kasi hindi ko talaga alam. This was hard for me. Inayos ko na ang buhay ko. I was ready to settle down in the States. This could be my last. Maraming salamat sa tiwala kasi hindi ko talaga alam na aabot ako dito."
The 37-year-old revealed that his son is among factors that made him consider quitting showbiz.
"I wanted to devote more time sa anak ko. Para bago man lang maging adult ang bata, I can give him more time physically. That's one of the factors and parang gusto ko rin naman magpahinga, so iyon... Sometimes kailangan natin pagtuunan ng pansin ang ibang bagay para hindi tayo tumanda na may na-miss out tayo," Piolo explained in a separate PEP interview.
Piolo said IƱigo didn't agree with his plan. "(Sabi niya) 'You can't quit yet because I still wanna see you on TV.' Sabi ko, 'Ano ka ba naman, I wanna do this for you yet ayaw mo.'"
With this, Piolo deemed it "a sign."
"There are some things na out of our control. I was planning something else, but I guess ABS-CBN had a different plan. God had a different plan kaya sabay na lang tayo sa agos," he added.
"I thought kaya kong tuldukan, hindi pa pala. Bahala na ang Diyos, bahala na ang ABS-CBN. Happy ako, sobra."

Marian Rivera sees nothing ‘wrong’ with Anne Curtis playing Dyesebel
Marian even pointed out that in show business, it is inevitable that a character is sometimes played by different actors. “Umiikot yan eh,” she quipped.
The Kapuso actress downplayed comparisons and the intrigues being sown between them. Marian even expressed gratitude that while they are signed to different networks, Anne complimented the former’s high-fashion photo shoot that came out on a magazine recently.
“Hindi man kami nagte-text-an o lumalabas na magkasama eh alam namin na magkaibigan kaming dalawa. Kahit na hindi ako taga-kanila (ABS-CBN), sa mga ganitong pagkakataon ay nawawala 'yung wall ng networks. Hindi naman masamang pumuri at magmahal ng iba kahit na hindi mo ka-network," Marian said.
Speaking of rival networks, rumors have it that Marian is being primed to play leading lady to a Kapamilya actor in a movie. However, the actress refused to say anything about it, believing that until contracts are signed, scripts are sent and cameras start grinding, it is best to keep one’s lips sealed on such matters.
“Kasi ang daming nababago, like (in the case of Kapamilya actor) Coco Martin before. Dapat may gagawin kaming pelikula pero hindi natuloy. So, siguro kapag nandiyan na at may script na at nagro-rolling na kami, siguro doon masasabi ko na matutuloy na talaga."
Marian pointed out that she’s always excited to work with different actors, regardless where their allegiance lies.
“Every moment na may bagong project, babae man iyan o lalaki, excited ako na makatrabaho sila dahil alam ko na may matututunan ako sa kanila," she said.
Marian is the first celebrity endorser of Sof & mmmmm Premium Fragrances fabric conditioner. Apparently, she was chosen to pitch for the brand after she topped the survey conducted by product maker, Personal Collection Direct Selling Inc.
