Jameson Blake, from indie to mainstream, stars in 'Haunted Forest' with Jane, Maris and Jon

Regal Films has revealed the other day the cast for its upcoming horror film 'Haunted Forest', which is reportedly one of the submitted entries vying for the last 4 slots in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2017.

I think it's the movie that was previously titled 'Hysteria' under the direction of Ian Loreños ('Alagwa', 'Mano Po 7: Tsinoy') and supposedly had Julia Montes, Arjo Atayde, McLisse McCoy De Leon & Elisse Joson and Mr. Joel Torre in the cast.

Now 'Haunted Forest', it still has the same director but with a brand new, equally interesting cast: Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal, Jon Lucas and Mr. Joey Marquez plus Jay Manalo, Jerald Napoles and more.

After the new cast members were announced, I immediately contacted Jameson, who's in my "hotlist" since his Bingo TVC, to congratulate him on his first ever mainstream film.

The Hashtags member and former PBB housemate already made his film debut last November via the independent production '2 Cool 2 Be
4gotten' which gave him a Best Supporting Actor award at the 2016 Cinema One Originals filmfest as well as a PMPC Star Awards for Movies nomination. His next movie is another indie entitled 'Nabubulok', one of the Cinemalaya 2017 entries this August, and he'll be returning at the Cinema One Originals this year via 'Nay', co-starring with Enchong Dee and Ms. Sylvia Sanchez.

In a message sent to this blog, Jameson said that it's both an achievement and a challenge for him to finally cross over to
mainstream in less than a year since he made his indie debut.

"It's another challenge for me that I'd love to take. I'd be learning more as an actor," he said.

In 'Haunted Forest', he will be playing the role of "RJ", and assures everyone that it's different from the roles that he portrayed in the movies and on TV.

"The role will give me a challenge kasi puro Tagalog ang dialogue ko,"
the 20-year-old Fil-Am actor told Mykiru.ph. "But I'm willing to take it. It will definitely help me with my Tagalog."

He and Jon Lucas (as Andre) are best friends in 'Haunted Forest', while Jane Oineza and Maris Racal, who are still fresh from working together in 'Bloody Crayons', play cousins Nica and Mich.

I'll definitely watch 'Haunted Forest' when it opens in cinemas later this year. Hope you'll also watch and support this exciting movie. - Mykiru.ph

Fil-Brit 'Eat Bulaga' Bae Kim Last Enjoys Being The Comic Relief In The Hit Youth-Oriented Morning Show, 'Trops'

KIM LAST is the Fil-British guy who made waves in "That's My Bae" of "Eat Bulaga" and is now seen in two regular shows, "Trops" every morning at 11:30 and "Sunday Pinasaya". He also appears in "Eat Bulaga", like a few days ago when he did a Rico Mambo number with Baeby Baste. Born in London on January 20, 1997, he's the youngest of three kids of a Pinay mom and a British dad.

"I came to Manila to really try showbiz," he says. "My sister is very beautiful pero ayaw mag-showbiz. Ako lang ngayon mag-isa rito sa Manila kasi all my family, nasa London. When I came here, hindi ako marunong mag-Tagalog but now, okay na, although nabubulol pa rin."
His full name is Kim Michael Last, shortened to Kim Last. "Para madali raw tandaan kasi you save the best for last and the last will be first," he quips.

Is it true he had a girlfriend who's an Eat Bulaga dancer? "Yes, but only for two months. It didn't last kasi I realized hindi ko kaya pagsabayin. We tape 'Trops' three times a week. Sobrang busy. She understands naman na I really came her to have a career, not to have a love life."

In "Trops", he's the jolliest member in their "tropa". "Ako yung laging nagpapatawa. Comic relief ako, laging nagjo-joke, so viewers know me as a comedian, pero gusto ko rin mag-try ng drama. We're all happy sa 'Trops' kasi ang kasabay namin, yung Kim-Gerald show na itinapat sa amin, pero hindi kami nagpapahuli sa ratings."

His colleague in "Trops", Joel Palencia, got involved in a scandal kissing another guy. What can he say about this? "Hindi naman totoo yun. We all know Joel and we know it's not true."
Isn't he scared of being involved in a similar scandal? "Walang lalabas na ganun sa'kin. Maingat ako."
