Vice Ganda to Karylle: "She needs me in her career more than I need her!"
Jennylyn Mercado Doesn't Care If Luis Manzano Is Now Back Into The Arms Of Angel Locsin
WHAT CAN JENNYLYN MERCADO say now that ex-BF Luis Manzano and Angel Locsin are back in each other’s arms? “Wala, kailangang bang may sabihin pa ko,” she says. “Nag-move on na ako, I’m busy with work now, so don’t ask me about them anymore. Naka-focus ako ngayon sa ‘Rhodora X’ kasi pataas nang pataas ang ratings namin and more and more people are watching it.”
This week in “Rhodora X”, Jennylyn as Rhodora has been confirmed to have a split personality and an alterego, Roxanne, that she’s not aware of. As for Rhodora’s sister, Yasmien Kurdi as Angela, arrangements have been made for her marriage to Mark Herras Joaquin. Vaness del Moral as Pia organizes a hen party for Angela’s coming wedding.
Krista Miller as Trisha sabotages the party by putting drugs into their drinks and then hired a macho dancer to do dirty dancing with Yasmien. Krista videotapes this on her phone which Roxanne gets hold of and she texts Angela that Joaquin is her property. She also tore into pieces the wedding gown of Angela then burned all the wedding invitations.
Rafa Siguion Reyna as Cal shows to Rhodora her video while dancing wildly as Roxanne. She says it’s not her but both of them have the ugly X mark on their chests. Irma Adlawan as the psychiatrist Dr. Vivian performs a therapy session on Rhodora and her other personality comes out, confirming that she has DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). She tells Dr. Vivian not to reveal this to her family. Meantime, Mark Herras gets jealous when he sees Mark Anthony Fernandez comforting Yasmien and this results into a fistfight.
Has Nikki Gil found someone new?
Billy has admitted courting "It's Showtime" co-host Coleen Garcia, while Nikki recently revealed in the February 19 episode of "Kris TV" that she’s dating a non-showbiz guy.
‘It felt right’
"It felt right," Nikki said about dating the new guy, whom she met through their common friends.
Nikki tried meeting other men after her breakup with Billy. But she didn't want to just 'go and explore' as she prefers someone who meets her qualifications.
"Binigyan ko rin naman yung chance yung self ko to meet, pero kasi hindi ko kaya. I don't want to play the game.”
Nikki reveals that the guy , 29, has an “adult job."
"I mean, sobrang different from what we do," she told Kris.
Nikki’s standards
When it comes to finding someone special, Nikki looks for a guy who is "godly, tall and has work." She shared that she’ doesn’t go on dates for the sake of dating and meeting people.
"Kapag wala yung mga iyon, huwag na lang. Parang waste of time, kung magkaiba kami ng values.".
Her strong Christian beliefs makes a deep relationship with God very important to Nikki .
"Hindi lang yung masabi lang na nagsisimba. I want someone that actually has a deep relationship with God. At siyempre, (dapat) may endorsement ng friends."
Forgetting Billy
Nikki admitted she no longer thinks of Billy. But she’s not jaded when it comes to love.
"Kasi parang alam mo na it's not like that all the time. Parang ito (past) ay nagkataon lang. That love isn't supposed to be like that. Hindi siya dapat masakit at hindi ka dapat iiyak."
Nikki and Billy’s relationship lasted six years. In a TV interview where he admitted the breakup, an emotional Billy revealed that he had to go on his own because he was confused and wanted to rediscover himself.
Vice Ganda admits rift with Karylle
Is the ViceRylle ‘love team’ on the rocks?
Vice Ganda and Karylle used to be playfully sweet to each other in the noontime variety show "It's Showtime." Hence the term ViceRylle.
However, viewers noticed that the two have not been talking to each other on the show. This sparked speculations that they are no longer in good terms.
No show
After weeks of speculations, Vice finally admitted the rift with Karylle. He told the press on Wednesday, February 19, that it all began when Karylle did not attend the thanksgiving party of his movie "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy."
Vice admitted feeling hurt that Karylle gave different reasons for her absence.
Yael enters the picture
They started talking again when Vhong got involved in the incident with Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee. However, Vice and Karylle had another rift when the former learned from "It's Showtime" director Bobet Vidanes that the bride-to-be's fiance Yael Yuzon allegedly disapproves of their love team.
When confronted, Vice relates that Karylle denied the issue. Vice Ganda also said that Vidanes stands by his story.
"Tapos sabi ko, 'Kung wala kang sinasabi, hindi na tayo ang may issue, kayo na ni Direk Bobet. Mag-usap kayong dalawa ni Direk Bobet,'" Vice goes on.
Gender issue
Vice Ganda felt offended that Yael allegedly doesn't want Karylle to be paired with him because of gender issues. The host-comedian added that the love team was not even his idea, and that Karylle, not him, stands to benefit more from it.
"Baklang-bakla nga ako. So, bakit ako makikipag-love team sa babae? Hindi sa pagmamayabang, ayaw kong sabihin, pero let's face it. Let's be real, mas makakatulong iyon sa kanya kaysa sa akin," he said.
Vice revealed that Karylle has apologized and sent him flowers and a letter. Appeased, Vice is confident he and Karylle can be friends again.
"Open ako na maging mas maayos pa kami. Kasi hindi pwede na magkagalit kami ng matagal dahil magkatrabaho kami. Lahat naman iyan lumilipas. Maayos rin ito."
After the press conference, Vice Ganda tweeted that he can sleep "with a forgiving heart."

What Boy Abunda didn't tell his mom
But he never came out to the person who matters most to him: his Nanay Lesing, even if she must have known the truth all along.
“I would sashay in and out of the house. Hindi niya ako pinakialaman. Hindi niya ikinahiya ang aking pagiging bakla,” Boy told a press gathering for Make Your Nanay Proud (MYNP) Foundation.
"Pero kung tinanong ako ng Nanay, I would have told her,” Boy says.
Be the best
The Kapamilya host loves his mom so much, he knows she deserves the truth.
He also came up with a bigger way of honoring his mom and others like her by putting up MYNP and urging children to “be the best of who you are and the best in all you do.”
The award-winning TV host got his spunk and self-confidence from a mom who believed in him and taught him to believe in himself.
The machos on the street near their house in Samar can scream “Bayot, bayot!” and “Bakla, bakla!” whenever they saw him. Others may see his Waray accent and very Pinoy looks as a hindrance in his hosting career. He may have forgotten all the lines in a declamation piece he was supposed to deliver before class.
But Boy never forgot that his Nanay never chided nor belittled him.
All she told Boy was, “Sa susunod, mame-memorize mo yan.”
Believing in himself
Do you wonder now why critics have a hard time putting him down? If his own mom believed in him, why can’t he believe in himself?
This sense of self-worth made Boy look President Noynoy Aquino, other politicians, ambassadors, top actors and actresses in the eye and ask them pointed questions.
It propelled Boy to the top of his career. It made him earn so much, he was able to build a house he called “Balay ni Nanay Lesing” right where their old home used to be.
“She was very proud of it. Nag-iimbita siya ng mga kaibigan at sinasabing, ‘Tingnan mo . Yan ang ginawa ng aking anak para sa akin.”
Now that his mom was diagnosed with mild dementia, Boy can’t help but long for the lady he used to have lively discussions with.
Very articulate
“She was very articulate We love to talk,” he recalls his conversations with Nanay Lesing, a public school teacher for many years.
Boy recalls how she wasn’t able to get her meager salary for eight years because she had to pay debts she incurred for his and his sister’s schooling. He remembers how she used to walk barefoot 12 kilometers from their barrio to the public school and back.
“She never made me feel guilty. She had no demands.”
Boy knows that his mom would be happy strolling along Luneta and sleeping on a borrowed folding bed at the back of the Luneta grandstand with him.
From talk to action
Boy can go on and on with stories that explain why he lives his life for his Nanay.
But he’d also like to turn that talk into concrete action – this time for all moms and children out there.
MYNP’s plans include a Nanay Museum called Bahay ni Nanay which will promote what the group’s vision is. Kongreso ni Nanay is envisioned as a yearly gathering of mothers in partnership with Procter and Gamble and other sectors which aim to showcase the lives of people who have succeeded with the support of their mom.
Kalusugan ni Nanay is a health and wellness caravan that will tour key cities nationwide.
Limits of maternal love
Boy knows maternal love has its limits.
”It’s not the be all and end all to society’s problems. Adolf Hitler was devoted to his mom. So was Bin Laden.”
But it still is as powerful as ever.
Make Your Nanay Proud is not only the name of an organization. It is also a mantra worth reciting at the start of a brand-new day.
