Luis Manzano finally broke his silence about the real score between him and Angel Locsin.
“I’m proudly her boyfriend,” he told host Buy Abunda in an exclusive interview on Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday, February 16.
The reconciliation happened a few days after New Year’s Day, when Luis went to Angel’s house but failed to see her because she was already asleep.
“I spent time with her father and her sister,” Luis recalls.
“A few days after that, that’s when everything fell into place.”
That old spark
Luis felt a bit of the old spark coming back after a few text messages with Angel, but he admitted he did not know if she felt the same way.
Angel, for her part, made headlines when she told ABS-CBN News last January 15 that she still loves Luis.

“Some people believe I had no idea when she first came out on TV and said mahal niya ako, that it was our first time to talk after so long. That’s wrong. We were already talking, we were already spending time with each other, we were already enjoying each other’s company again.”
He recalled the time he tried to reach out to Angel again after years of non-communication.
How it started
“It all started a few days after Christmas. I don’t even think if I got to greet her for Christmas. Nabati ko ang family nya. A few days after Christmas, that’s when we started texting again. Very simple lang. Greeting lang. New year, pumunta ako sa bahay nila.”
Luis strongly denies he caused the breakup between Angel and Phil Younghusband.
In fact, Luis says he and Angel did not communicate for years, and that the actress was scared to see him for the first time after so long because it might breed negativity. Both of them, he explained still had unresolved issues.
There was even a time he and Angel had adjacent dressing rooms in ABS-CBN. But they still did not get to see each other.
Luis also denied that Angel caused the breakup of his relationship with Jennylyn Mercado.
“Jen and I know the real reason why we broke up. Our families know the real reason why we broke up. She (Angel) was not a factor in the breakup.”
Wedding plans
As for rumored wedding plans, Luis’ answers are tentative.
“Magpapakasal ba kayo December this year?” Boy asked.
Luis replied,”Maybe not.”
Neither did he give a clear answer on whether the wedding will be in 2015.
“We’ll call you,” Luis promised Boy.
Luis was clearer about what he learned from his reconciliation with Angel.
“You’re experiencing everything for a reason. You have to value that. Stepping backwards gives you a better view (of things),” he relates.

ARCI MUNOZ was about to join Miss World Philippines the year before last but she backed out. “Ang dami ko kasing projects sa TV5 at that time and they pulled me out,” she says. “I have a contract with them and I cannot just leave them to devote my time to a beauty pageant. E, sa ngayon, hindi na ko puede as I turned 25, so I guess being a beauty queen will remain an unfulfilled dream. Hindi talaga para sa’kin.”
