Mayor Cristina Gonzales Leads Sangyaw Festival's Parade Of Lights In Tacloban City This June 29, With Fluvial And Land Processions For The Senor Sto. Nino On June 30

WE ARE CURRENTLY in Tacloban City upon the invitation of Mayor Cristina 'Kring Kring' Gonzales to attend their annual Sangyaw Festival of Lights and fiesta in honor of the Senor Sto Nino. This is actually a month-long celebration that started on June 9 with a motorcade participated in by the fiesta sponsors, city government employees and the 2017 Miss Tacloban candidates.

After the well attended motorcade, the beautiful Sangyawan Park at the Balyuan Grounds was inaugurated and opened to the public. On June 12, Independence Day and City Charter Day anniversary, they held a very successful job and business fair at the Astrodome by the sea for those looking for jobs.

Last night, the search for Mr. Sangyaw Tacloban was held at the Robinsons Activity Area along with the Sangyaw Foundation Ball. There was also a Waray Talents Concert at the Tacloban City Convention Center on June 27 and 28 and the Fiesta Trade Fair at Plaza Rizal yesterday. The traditional fluvial and land processions and the pontifical Mass will be held on the actual day of the fiesta, June 30.

The highlight of the 128th Tacloban Fiesta is the lavish and colorful Sangyaw Parade of Lights to be held around the city proper today, June 29. The centerpiece will be the decorated floats with LED lights and street dancers partying to the tune of the Sangyaw theme song. We've been attending the Sangyaw festivities for four straight years now and it's really getting better and more spectacular every year. Wish you're all here with us to enjoy this joyous and colorful affair.
