The Voice of the Philippines 2 Knockout Rounds begin

The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 has started its Knockout Rounds
tonight, January 10: Let's find out who will advance to The Voice of
the Philippines 2 Live Shows
In the Knockout rounds, the Top 9 artists from each of The Voice
Philippines team (under Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, Lea Salonga,
Apl) will be divided into groups of 3. The 3 from each group will
compete against each other and only 2 will advance to the live shows.
First team to go through the knockouts was Team Apl and the first
group consisted of Ferns Tosco and his stolen artists Suy Galvez and
Patricia Gomez. According to Coach Apl, he grouped them because of
their unique and one of a kind voices.
Ferns performed first ('Let It Be'), followed by Suy ('At Last') and
finally Patricia.

Demie Fresco, Douglas Dagal, Carol Leus, Poppert Bernadas and stolen

NOM discloses MV teaser release date

On January 9th, boy group NOM uploaded the compiled teaser photo above on their Facebook account.

The photo features the four members of NOM namely Ain, K, Yongki and Yohan. The post revealed that they will release a music video teaser of their comeback song ‘Kidding Me‘ on January 12th.

SPEED’s leader Woo Taewoon reveals tracklist of his mixtape ‘DOIN’ A FREE FALL’

On January 9th, SPEED‘s leader Woo Taewoon revealed the tracklist of his mixtape entitled ‘DOIN’ A FREE FALL.’

Update on Sungha Jung’s concert in Australia this January

Guitarist Sungha Jung will be visiting Australia in January 2015.

He will be in Melbourne on January 30th, then in Sydney on January 31st. On a Facebook account created for his concerts in Australia, the photos of the seats occupied and still available in both two venues were uploaded. 

The seats are color coded. The pink one belongs to the VIPs, the yellow is for Gold, the blue color is for Silver. The red blocks mean that the seats were already sold. For tickets, click Melbourne and Sydney.

Derek Ramsay makes ABS-CBN comeback, appears on 'It's Showtime'

Derek Ramsay 's face and name can now be freely shown, mentioned or
given long exposure in ABS-CBN programs, almost 3 years since Derek
Ramsay left the network for TV5
No more restrictions, no more ban on Derek Ramsay: That's what has
been proven earlier on 'It's Showtime' when Derek Ramsay lookalike
Edmer Guanlao was allowed to join the show's first daily round of
'Kalokalike Face 3'.
Photos and name of the MMFF 2014 Best Actor had much exposure today in
ABS-CBN, the first time since he left, when Edmer Guanlao was
introduced as the first contestant of It's Showtime's Kaloka Like
contest for its 3rd Season, which they call as Face 3. He however
failed to become the first daily round winner.
Guanlao is a freelance model, and has actually played Derek Ramsay's
body double in one of his TV5 shows. He absolutely looks like Derek
(though not in close resemblance), especially with sunglasses on, with
their same skinhead look, same body built and even acting talent, when
Edmer acted out Derek's portrayal in movies 'No Other Woman' and
'Praybeyt Benjamin' and also imitated his donut TVC.
But Derek Ramsay's exposure is only up to that point 'coz Edmer wasn't
named the winner, even though he should have been given the chance to
advance (just like those sunglasses-dependent lookalikes of Manny
Pacquiao and Coco Martin in previous seasons). I actually thought it
was a tie between him and Lito Lapid kalokalike Teoduro Sales Jr, who
was the sole winner and will be seen next on the semi-finals. Lapid's
lookalike got 'kalokalike' votes from all 3 judges (Jhong Hilario,
Andi Eigenmann, Andrew E.), while Ramsay's lookalike got just 1
'kalokalike' vote (Andrew E, the one who asked the contestant to
remove his shades).
The other contestant was Pauline Capiral, who was an overacting
Pokwang and also lost after getting 3 Kaloka votes.

MMFF 2014 was big success, exceeding its 1 billion gross income
target, which last year's MMFF nearly reached with 999M
The 40th Metro Manila Film Festival ran for 14 days, December 25, 2014
to January 7, 2015, and based on a tweet posted by TV5 reporter MJ
Marfori last Thursday, MMDA revealed that MMFF 2014 had a total 14-day
gross earnings of P1.014B, which is just 1.5% higher than in 2013.
Assuming it is not a padded figure, it exceeded last year obviously
because movie tickets from the festival were priced higher. When
talkin' about actual tickets sold, I think last year was still higher.
MMFF 2014 should have earned much higher than the 1.014B, given the
higher ticket price.
Sadly, MMDA did not reveal once again how much each of the 8 entries
earned within the 2-week period. But since Day 1, the festival top
grosser was 'The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin', which crossed P400-M mark
after 13 days.
Based on my estimates, TAPB could have possibly earned P407.2M as of
January 7, the end of the festival.
Kris Aquino-Coco Martin starrer 'Feng Shui 2' on one hand came 2nd
with an estimated P213.9M, while 'My Big Bossing' had an estimated
P120.7M.
In 4th was the delightful surprise 'English Only, Please' with an
estimated P91.2M gross, while 'Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2' took
5th with P81.1M estimated gross.
The Bottom 3 films ('Shake, Rattle & Roll XV', 'Bonifacio: Ang Unang
Pangulo', 'Magnum Muslim .357') share the remaining P99.9 million.
Meanwhile, Star Cinema's Mico del Rosario update on Instagram, 'The
Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin' already has P415M and 'Feng Shui 2' has
P225M gross receipts as of yesterday, January 9, 16 days after they
opened in theaters.
That officially makes 'TAPB' as the highest-grossing Pinoy film
released in 2014, beating Toni Gonzaga-Piolo Pascual movie 'Starting
Over Again' which had P410M.
