Comedian Blakdyak found dead inside his house

Singer-comedian Blakdyak was found dead inside his condominium unit in Sampaloc, Manila earlier evening of Monda, November 21.

According to the police, Blakdyak, Joseph Formoran Amoto in real life, was found by his minor son who was sleeping at the other room and wondered why his father was not opening his door. When he checked his father's room, he found him completely naked with a plastic bag around his head.

Police has yet to determine whether there was foul play in the comedian's death.

Hailed from Zambales, Blakdyak rose to fame in the 90s via his novelty hits such as "Modelong Charing," "Noon At Ngayon," and "Asin At Paminta."

In 2014, he made headlines after he was arrested for malicious mischief, alarm and scandal, and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia in his apartment in Cubao.

Despite this, the comedian was able to pick himself up and resume his career.  He headlined shows and gigs, and was collaborating with veteran composer Lito Camo for a new album.

He was married to Twinkle Estanislao with whom he has four children.

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk Movie Review: Shows That People Don't Really Understand The Trauma Soldiers Experience In Battle

 

ANG LEE is the only Asian who has won the Oscar best director awards twice, for "Brokeback Mountain" and "Life of Pi". Without any publicity, his latest work, "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" was shown last week in local cinemas and, as may be expected, it was quickly withdrawn from cinemas due to lack of viewers. When we watched it in a local mall theater, there were less than ten people watching it, which is so "sayang", because it's a good film.

Based on the acclaimed best seller of the same title by Ben Fountain, the film is narrated by the eponymous hero, the 19-year old Billy Lynn (played by newcomer Joe Alwyn, who's British). He has emerged as an overnight sensation, a hero soldier in Iraq, after he came to the rescue of his wounded superior, Sgt. Shroom (Vin Diesel), who eventually died. This was caught on a cellphone video and became viral.

As a reward, he and his fellow soldiers in his squad called Bravo are brought back home to be honored at the halftime show of the 2006 Thanksgiving Day football game in his native Texas' Lone Star Dome. With them is a Hollywood producer/ agent, Albert (Chris Tucker, who has gained so much weight since "Rush Hour"), who says a possible movie deal might make them earn $100,000 each. The film happens in just a single day but, through flashbacks, we are shown what happened in Iraq and also, what Billy's life with his family was before and after he fought in Iraq.

We learn that Billy became a soldier only to avoid jail time after his sister Kathryn (Kristen Stewart), who was badly injured and scarred in a terrible car crash, was suddenly dumped by her boyfriend, who he then assaulted. His sister now believes he no longer needs to return for another tour of duty in Iraq as he has already done his part.

Billy meets a beautiful cheerleader, Faison (Makenzie Leigh), and it looks like the start of a beautiful romance for them. But other people, like the football players, do not make a good connection with the soldiers and even felt antagonized when they won't answer questions about hand-to-hand combat in detail and how it feels like to kill someone. Some guys even try to beat them up.

Also, the TV halftime producers just exploit them, asking them to put on their camouflage uniforms as a costume as it looks more battle ready on screen, when they're just back up attraction to the performance of Destiny's Child. Worse, the TV people use explosions and pyrotechnics on stage, not taking into consideration the fact that these young soldiers are still shell shocked from their recent harrowing war experiences.

The film satirically succeeds in showing that people so far away from the war lack a true understanding of the kind of trauma and sacrifices that soldiers have to go through while in the thick of battle. This movie is said to be shot using a new technology of ultra high frame rate of 120 frames per second to make it an immersive digital experience, but none of our cinemas have the projector to show it in this format so we got to watch it in the usual 24 frames.

Joe Alwyn gives a solid portrayal of the heroic soldier. He's well supported by Vin Diesel as their ill fated commander, a role so far from his unkillable character in the "Fast & Furious" franchise. Vin probably accepted this just to get the chance to work with a prestigious Oscar winning filmmaker like Ang Lee.

The same goes for Steve Martin, who's also good in a supporting role as a Dallas big wig who offers them a very cheap talent fee. Garrett Hedlund as Bravo's hard ass lead officer also turns in a sterling performance, particularly when he takes down a Texas oil tycoon (Tim Blake Nelson). Kristen Stewart is touching as the scarred sister who tries her best to discourage Billy from returning to Iraq.

BREAKING NEWS: Burning Bus Found Along Marcos Highway!

An anonymous netizen sent us a photo of a burning bus along Marcos Highway on the way to Baguio City.The photo was taken around 6:00 PM today, November 11, 2016.  

According to the source, smoke was emanating from the tunnel before reaching the city proper. 

“Pagdaan nga namin naramdaman namin [yung init].” She said. 

As of this writing there are no fire–fighters yet on the scene. Information as to the cause of the fire and the number of casualties, if any, also remains scarce.

We will keep you updated as soon as we learn more information about this emergency situation.

Young Pinay Entrepreneur Creates Successful Online Business With Only $50

Ishka Villacisneros-Tusjakova is a 27-year-old Filipina migrant who lives in Los Angeles, California. She created a website called Californila.com (formerly Stuff2Shop) – “a Personal Shopper and Shipper” site that been very popular with Pinoys who love imported goods.” 

What was her inspiration? Shopping.

Specifically, she enjoyed the products and the shopping experience offered in the United States. It didn’t take too long before her relatives and friends to asked her to purchase items and commodities from American retailers in their stead. She happily took this opportunity to answer their “nakikisuyo”, “pabili”, and “padala” requests.

Ishka then realized how profitable this service was to other Filipinos looking to purchase items from the States.

“My friends and relatives were the ones who asked me for the ‘personal shopper fee’ because they realize there are expenses such as time, gas and shipping. That’s when I started the ‘Personal Shopper and Shipper’ service,” Ishka says.

At first, she conducted her business through Multiply, but decided to make her own website after discovering limitations her Multiply platform had. Ishka had a Bachelor of Science in Information and Communications Technology Management graduate from De La Salle University. She made her own website instead. 

When Californila.com was first starting out, they were receiving 5 to 10 product orders per month. Now they have around 5,000 to 8,000 orders a month and ship via SeaCargo and Air Cargo almost every day.

She did it all on her own, with only $ 50 she had earned.

With the money she makes, Iska can afford sportscars and her own house in L.A. She’s even employed her grandmother and other people from her community to help her out in her ever-growing business.

According to Ishka, “My business is a reflection of who I am. Handling my own business feels like I’m in my own playground. If you actually visit one of our offices, you’ll see a fun working environment where employees would consider it a place to work and play.” 

She said, “If you’re looking to start your business, start it when you’re young so you’ll have more energy and motivation, more time to learn from your mistakes, you have fewer responsibilities, fewer commitments and much more time to make up for any losses you’ll incur.”

In the video, a child falls from an unspecified height and miraculously gets up as people come rushing to the rescue.

This Rare Seal Was Spotted With His Unique Stripes! Watch The Video Here!

It’s not every day you find a Ribbon Seal.

The last time these evasive mammals were spotted was in 2012.

Thankfully, the reason why you won’t see them very often isn’t because they’re endangered. No, the Ribbon Seal is merely shy.

Animal lovers from Washington State were very lucky when one appeared on the shores of the Long Beach Peninsula.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA Fisheries Service), the seal was in good condition. It appeared long enough to be photographed before diving back into the Pacific Ocean.

The Ribbon Seal lives in the Arctic and Subarctic regions of the North Pacific Ocean. There are an estimated 400,000 seals living in these regions, although they are rarely seen because they live so far into the ocean. Because of this, scientists know very little about these unique-looking mammals.

However, with climate change affecting the whole planet, the frequency of these sightings may increase, according to scientists. Hopefully, these beautiful creatures will stay around for more generations to come.
