Day 4 MMFF 2014 Box-Office Results: Vice Ganda and Kris Aquino's Entry Earned P260 Million
As anticipated, the second installment of 2011 unkabogable comedy movie of blockbuster star Vice Ganda entitled "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin" leads this year's 8 entries of the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) as far as box-office earnings is concern.
Despite the bad reviews and its inability to bring home any awards at last night's MMFF 2014 awards night, the Wenn Deramas helmed movie was able to earn P172 million as of 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 28.
"The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin" also stars Bimby Aquino-Yap, Alex Gonzaga and Richard Yap.
Meanwhile, Kris Aquino and Coco Martin's horror movie "Feng Shui 2" took the second spot with a total of P88 million earnings in the box office. The first installment of this highly successful horror movie by Chito Rono earned more than P130 million when it was shown back in 2004.
On third place is "My Big Bossing" starring Vic Sotto and Ryzza Mae Dizon. Followed by Dingdong Dantes' "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2".

Kapatid Best Actor Derek Ramsay Shares Sentiments After Winning the Highest Award on MMFF 2014
Immediately after he was proclaimed Best Actor in the ongoing 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for the movie "English Only, Please," Derek Ramsay feels nothing but gratitude to his family, friends and supporters who never left his side during his "most challenging times" that made him not just a strong person but moreso a good actor.
On his official Twitter account @kingderekramsay, the Kapatid actor recalled the many trials he has been through this year including the legal battle with estranged wife Mary Christine Jolly. But despite that, the opportunity to become a father to his son Austin and winning the award make 2014 one of his best years yet.

MMFF 2014 box-office winners Praybeyt Benjamin 2, Feng Shui 2 snubbed at #MMFF2014 Awards Night
2', 'Feng Shui 2' continue to be the MMFF 2014 top grossers now with a
combined gross of P260-million
As announced on 'The Buzz' earlier, the 2 ABS-CBN-produced MMFF 2014
entries, 'The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin' and 'Feng Shui 2', already
earned P172-million and P88-million respectively, as of 3PM today,
December 28, the 4th day of the festival. By tomorrow, it is expected
that TAPB will hit P200M mark, while Feng Shui 2 will pass P100M.
These movies are certified box-office winners, but sadly, they were
heavily snubbed at the festival's Gabi Ng Parangal last night. They
didn't win a single award. Was it intentional on the part of the MMFF
committee to not give these 2 any awards since they are already
lording the box-office? Maybe yes, but it could also be the other way,
since 2 other films were also empty-handed last night: 'Shake, Rattle
& Roll XV' and 'Muslim Magnum .357'.
It was the worst thing that happened for 'The Amazing Praybeyt
Benjamin' during the Awards Night. I was expecting it to at least get
nominations for Tom Rodriguez and Alex Gonzaga as Best Supporting
Actor and Actress, but sadly, their efforts were overlooked.
The nominees for Best Supporting Actor were Kean Cipriano for 'English
Only, Please', Joey Marquez for 'Kubot: the Aswang Chronicles 2', Roi
Vinzon for 'Muslim Magnum .357', Jose Manalo and Sef Cadayona for 'My
Big Bossing'. Marquez won.
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress were Cai Cortez ('English Only,
Please'), Lotlot de Leon ('Kubot'), Nikki Gil ('My Big Bossing'),
Chanda Romero ('SRR 15') and Carmi Martin ('Feng Shui 2'). Lotlot was
named the winner.
Is TAPB the worst among the 8 entries? It's the least nominated film,
getting just 1 nomination: Best Child Performer for Bimby Aquino Yap,
who however lost to My Big Bossing's Ryzza Mae Dizon.
Chito Roño's 'Feng Shui 2', though it also won nothing, somehow fared
better than TAPB, getting nominated in many categories, including Best
Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Roño
lost to 'English Only, Please' director Dan Villegas. Other nominees
for Best Directing were Enzo Williams ('Bonifacio'), Erik Matti
('Kubot') and Jerrold Tarog ('SRR 15: Ulam episode').
Movies who are underperforming in the box-office the past 3 days will
likely earn more now after collecting many awards last night. These
are Best Picture winner 'Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo', with 8 awards,
and especially, 2nd Best Picture 'English Only, Please', which had 7
awards including Best Actor for Derek Ramsay and Best Actress for
Jennylyn Mercado, who was sooo hot last night. (Can't blame Manila
Mayor Joseph 'Erap' Estrada if he can't resist the urge while giving
the trophy to her.)
Derek won over Robin Padilla, Dingdong Dantes and Coco Martin, while
Jennylyn defeated Vina Morales, Erich Gonzales and Carla Abellana.

Vice Ganda's The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin is the topgrossing entry on Christmas Day, December 25.
This was revealed by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair and overall Metro Manila Film Fest head Francis Tolentino earlier today, December 26.
He also revealed that after Praybeyt Benjamin 2, the other topgrossing films are Feng Shui 2, My Big Bossing and Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2.

AirAsia Flight #QZ8501 Status: Missing, with 155 passengers onboard
AirAsia Flight QZ8501 status as of this posting is still missing |`The
Air Asia flight 8501 had 155 passengers
Earlier this morning, December 28, 2014, the AirAsia Flight 8501 going
to Singapore went missing almost 2 hours after it left Surabaya,
Indonesia
According to the list of passengers provided by AirAsia Indonesia,
there are 155 passengers plus 1 pilot and 5 cabin crew. They're mostly
Indonesians, and only 3 Koreans, 1 Singaporean, 1 Malaysian and 1
French. No Filipinos among passengers, but we should be one in praying
that the plane be found, that it lands safely and that the passengers
are fine and safe.
This heartbreaking news came just 8 months after the Malaysian
Airlines MH370 banished on air with over 200 passengers reported dead.
LATEST STATEMENT FROM AIRASIA:
"AirAsia Indonesia regrets to confirm that flight QZ8501 from Surabaya
to Singapore has lost contact with air traffic control at 07:24
(Surabaya LT) this morning. The flightook off from Juanda
International Airport in surabaya at 0535hours.
The aircraft was an Airbus A320-200 with the registration number
PK-AXC. There were two pilots, four flight attendants and one engineer
on board.
The captain in command had a total of 6,100 flying hours and the first
officer a total of 2,275 flying hours
There were 155 passengers on board, with 138 adults, 16 children and 1
infant. Also on board were 2 pilots and 5 cabin crew.
Nationalities of passengers and crew onboard are as below:
1 Singapore
1 Malaysia
1 France
3 South Korean
156 Indonesia
At this time, search and rescue operations are being conducted under
the guidance of The Indonesia of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
AirAsia Indonesia is cooperating fully and assisting the investigation
in every possible way."
The aircraft was on the submitted flight plan route and was requesting
deviation due to enroute weather before communication with the
aircraft was lost while it was still under the control of the
Indonesian Air Traffic Control (ATC).
The aircraft had undergone its last scheduled maintenance on 16 November 2014.
AirAsia has established an Emergency Call Centre that is available for
family or friends of those who may have been on board the aircraft.

available. Updated information will also be posted on the AirAsia
website, www.airasia.com.

Clash of Clans is an exceptionally popular title among mobile gamers worldwide. The game is available on iOS and Android platforms. The Supercell developed strategy, build your town game is free to play but in order to expand, you need to spend hours of time gathering resources and items.
Campaign levels are like puzzles, and typically require use of specific units and/or upgraded units to succeed - especially if you are seeking a 3 star result. A few general tips for success:
. Use Tier 1 troops (barbarian, archer, goblin) in hordes to attack single target defenses (cannon, archer tower, spring traps). You'll loose a few, but the horde will overcome.
. Use Tier 2 troops (giant, wall breaker, balloon) for their specialized abilities, particularly to crack splash damage defenses like the mortar, which can wipe out your hordes. When using the balloon, be sure to wipe out air defense first.
. Campaign levels are not timed, so once defenses are down you can wait indefinitely to win if you want to save troops.
. Queue some troop production in your Barracks before starting a fight (even though you are full). Some of these troops will already be ready and waiting as soon as you are complete.

I will also add that upgraded units help a lot. As I now attack the high-end levels, it is much easier to 3 star now that I have most units upgraded to level 4 or level 5. I also make use of the Barbarian King, which I believe makes these levels much easier since he is a very good tank, and can draw a lot of fire while your hordes disassemble the defenses.
