Ai-Ai still wants to keep boyfriend’s identity private
At the press conference of her new TV fantaserye “Wako Wako,” Ai-Ai refused to divulge her boyfriend’s name, saying that he respects her, so she also wants to respect him in return.
“Siyempre, bigyan naman natin yung tao ng privacy. Unti-untiin natin. Huwag natin siyang biglain sa show business. Nirerespeto niya ako at nirerespeto ko siya,” Ai-Ai said at a press conference in 55 Events Place in Quezon City on Thursday, March 1.
Pressed further about the guy’s name, Ai Ai joked, “FPJ— Feeling Parang Jowa.”
The proper time
She promised to introduce him “at the proper time.”
Does she think the concept of “Wako Wako”–which grants wishes and expects its beneficiaries to give something in exchange–apply in her life?
"Siguro maa-apply yun kasi, hindi ba, sabi nila, ‘Kapag okay yung " career mo, minsan kapalit lovelife?
But she hopes the same thing doesn’t apply to her career and love life, since Ai Ai wants to be happy in both.
"Ang hiling ko, sana hindi totoo iyon. Sana kapag prosperous ang career ko, prosperous din ang lovelife ko. Sana maging maganda ang kakalabasan and sana dumating ang panahon na maging matagal kami (referring to her boyfriend).”
Ai-Ai clarified that the guy has not popped the question yet since they’re still getting to know each other more.
On remarrying
Does she see herself tying the knot again?
“Bakit naman hindi?,” she beamed.
While Ai-Ai admitted that she is open to the idea of marriage, she understands that a relationship has its ups and downs.
“Bukas naman ang mata ko sa mga ganitong relasyon, na I think marami namang magiging ups and downs ito. Hindi naman lahat ng relasyon puro bed of roses. Lahat may mga bagay na isa-sacrifice ka pagdating sa love," Ai-Ai said.
She adds that her children–Sofia, Niccolo, and Sancho–approve of her boyfriend. And she respects their opinion.
"Okay naman kay Sofia, kasi sabi niya, 'Sa lahat ng mga nanligaw sa iyo, Ma, ito lang yung nakita namin na dumadalaw, sinusundo ka, hinahatid ka.' So, sabi niya, 'Mukhang proper,'” Ai Ai said.
Direk Wenn
Ai-Ai is excited to be back on primetime TV, but she is doing a fantaserye this time.
She is happy working with director Wenn Deramas again. Their past projects are “Tanging Ina,” “BFF: Best Friends Forever”and Volta, among others.
"Siyempre, masaya ako at binibigyan nila (ABS-CBN) ako ng importansiya. Masaya rin ako dahil kasama ko ulit ang kakambal ko, si Direk Wenn. Feel at home ako.”
Ai Ai, who plays Dyosa Marishka in the series, reports that her new series is something kids will enjoy. She also likes how this is a good break for her after the heavy drama “Binondo Girl.”
“Napagod na ako sa kakaiyak. Gusto ko light naman na ngayon. Nakaka-drain, kaya isa rin siguro iyon sa dahilan kung bakit ako nagkasakit. Ngayon, hahapy-happy lang tayo, laughtrip lang,” Ai-Ai said.
“Wako Wako” also stars Yogo Singh, Vandolph Quizon, Gladys Reyes, Maricar de Mesa, Malou de Guzman, Dennis Padilla, Carlos Agassi, Abby Bautista, Markki Stroem, Lizel Garcia, Eagle Riggs, DJ Durano and Franco Daza. It starts airing Monday, March 5 before “TV Patrol.”

Jake wants next girlfriend to be ‘the one’
"For me, hopefully, iyong susunod na babaeng makakapiling ko, ‘yun na ‘yun sana. ‘Yung wala na akong doubt sa sarili ko. I think I owe it to the next person,” Jake said at the shooting of the digital film “Anino” in Antipolo City on Wednesday, February 29.
Jake admits he goes out on friendly dates, but there’s “nothing too serious” for now. Getting into another relationship seems to be the least of his concerns right now. Jake would like to focus on career and family first.
“May mga dating-dating, pero now nothing too serious. Seryoso muna ako sa pamilya ko at sa trabaho.”
Jake has many things to thank for, including his nomination at the 2012 Star Awards for Movie for Best Supporting Actor and his new Kapamilya TV drama with Shaina Magdayao, “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo.”
“Hindi mahirap maging single kasi nandito ang pamilya ko. Katulad nang marami naman akong pinasasalamatan tulad ng nomination, magagandang proyekto. So, now tahimik lang din ang love life,” he added.
Working with Shaina
“Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” Jake’s reunion project with Shaina, has proven how much the latter has changed as an actress.
“Finally, she's a woman. Hindi na siya yung Shaina na we all know simula noong bata. Ibang-iba na siya, magugulat talaga kayo kung paano siya naging palaban sa proyektong ito,” Jake said.
He has worked with Shaina in “Rubi,” and has observed her up close when they shot most of the scenes for “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” in Doha, Qatar.
Will he court her if they are both single?
“Hindi, kaibigan kami ni John Lloyd (Cruz, Shaina’s boyfriend) eh,” Jake replied, laughing.
He added that he and Shaina never had a chance to get into a relationship due to “wrong timing.”
"Kasi simula nang magkatrabaho kami ni Shaina may girlfriend ako. Tapos nagka-boyfriend siya. Parang never kaming nag-abot na pareho kaming single,” he shared.
Jake said Shaina possesses qualities most men like. He even described Shaina as the country’s Scarlett Johansson.
"She's an amazing woman and I guess every guy fantasizes to have a girl like Shaina. Kasi sobrang empowered siya. Now, she's very independent. Sobrang ganda niya,” he said.
ASAP incident with Melissa
Jake also opened up about the incident in “ASAP Rocks,” which saw their co-hosts teasing him and ex-girlfriend Melissa Ricks on stage.
He is disappointed at what happened, since Jake wants to settle the issue on their own, not on TV.
“Actually, medyo nagtampo ako sa ‘ASAP’ talaga. Like what I said in one interview, kung magkakaayos kami (ni Melissa), siguro we'll do it on our time. Hindi porke't nasa live TV kami, maaayos na ang problema namin.”
Jake hopes he and Melissa can still be friends.
“When she's ready, I'll be there to be her friend. But right now, I'm really proud of her kasi ang ganda ng soap nila, yung ‘Walang Hanggan,’ he said.
'Anino'
Meanwhile, Jake relates that joining “Anino” is his way of thanking Star Magic head Johnny Manahan.
“Anino” is Star Magic’s digital film for its workshop talents.
"Flattered ako na ako ang napili ni Mr. M (Manahan). At the same time, ang mga ganitong oportunidad, isa na rin siguro ito sa mga pasasalamat na gusto kong iparating kay Mr. M.”
Jake wants to join Star Magic workshops again the way he did as a newbie years back.
"Noong inalok sa akin ni Mr. M ito, sobrang na-appreciate ko rin ang passion ng workshoppers, kasi nga I myself was a workshopper. Nakakagulat din ang enthusiasm nila na umarte, gumawa ng pelikula.”
“Anino” is a digital film directed by Rahyan Carlos for Star Magic workshop.

Vandolph on dad Dolphy: He’s doing good
That’s according to his son, Vandolph, who is looking forward to celebrating Dolphy’s 84th birthday with his beloved, Zsa Zsa Padilla and the rest of the family.
“He’s doing good, he’s okay. Iyon lang ang masasabi ko. Baka sooner or later, makikita rin natin siya,” Vandolph said at the press conference of his new TV drama “Wako Wako” at 55 Events Place in Quezon City on Thursday, March 1.
Vandolph also told the press that he and his family regularly see his father, especially during their free time.
“Kapag free kami, andoon ang kids ko sa bahay nila, we talk, we eat, just like before,” he said.
Understanding Zsa Zsa
Vandolph explains that he understands why Zsa Zsa turned emotional when asked about Dolphy’s health in a separate presscon.
"Of course, si Tita Zsa Zsa ang laging kasama ni Papa. Siya ang nakakakawitness nang nangyayari. Pero if you see my daddy right now, nakikita ko he's okay naman. Siguro 'yung kay Tita eh naipon lang ever since before."
He hopes Dolphy will return to acting on TV and the big screen someday.
"Of course, gusto talaga naman niya. Ito ang passion niya so abangan natin,” Vandolph shared.
In “Wako Wako,” Vandolph plays Rodel Gaudencio, a policeman and the father of MuyMuy (Yogo Singh).
Vandolph is excited to be back in the Kapamilya network, where he honed his acting skills.
“Sa ABS-CBN naman po talaga ako nagsimula eh, mula sa “Ang TV,” then “Home Along Da Riles.” Kumbaga, ABS-CBN talaga yung humulma sa akin as Vandolph Quizon.”
His last project in ABS-CBN is “John and Shirley.”
“Wako Wako,” directed by Wenn Deramas, also stars Ai-Ai delas Alas, Yogo Singh, Gladys Reyes, Maricar de Mesa, Malou de Guzman, Dennis Padilla, Carlos Agassi, Abby Bautista, Markki Stroem, Lizel Garcia, Eagle Riggs, DJ Durano and Franco Daza. It airs starting Monday, March 5 before “TV Patrol.”

Marvin Reglos a San Beda Law Student Killed in Hazing Laid to Rest
Marvin Reglos a San Beda Law Student Killed in Hazing Laid to Rest
Update: Marvin Reglos, who succumbed to death due to multiple injuries allegedly caused by hazing of the Lambda Rho Beta fraternity, has been laid to rest in a public cemetery at Isabela province on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
Reglos' grieving relatives released 25 white balloons at the burial which represent his age had he lived to celebrate his birthday this year.
========
Marvin Reglos, a 25-year-old freshman law student from San Beda College, died from injuries sustained in an alleged hazing incident.
Reglos sustained severe bruises on several parts of his body as a result of his initiation rites in Lambda Rho Beta fraternity.
The victim was pronounced dead on arrival after his body was brought on Sunday night by two men on board a red Honda City with plate number WMF 174 at the Unciano Medical Center in Antipolo City.
Two suspects, alleged fraternity members Erick Edrosolano Castillo, 28; and Bodjie Amorin Yap, 24, were arrested on the same night Reglos was rushed to the hospital after they went back to the hospital, supposedly to check on the victim’s condition.
Police said the case is strong against the suspects after they found from their cellphones several text messages, supposedly from other fraternity members, warning not to speak out on the matter or reveal the identities of those behind the alleged hazing.
Yesterday, Reglos' father, Lucito, and sister, Lorvie, met with Justice Secretary Leila de Lima today to seek her help in the investigation into their kin's death and to request for a re-autopsy of Reglo's remains. De Lima has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), an attached agency of the Department of Justice (DOJ), to conduct a parallel probe into Reglos' death.
Incidentally, De Lima co-founded an ally sorority of the Lambda Rho Beta, the Lambda Rho Sigma.
The San Beda College of Law, meanwhile, condemned the violent killing of Reglos saying it was an “unlawful and dreadful act of violence.”
“The San Beda College of law condemns the system of brotherhood that employs violence, intimidation, intentional force, or reckless imprudence as part of any of its ceremonies or practices. Consequently, the school does not recognize their existence,” the school said in a statement.
San Beda also said it will cooperate with the investigation of the National Bureau of Investigation and Philippine National Police.
The school’s administration, together with the Law Student Government, have also formed a committee to conduct the investigation of the administrative aspect.
