Katherine Espin from Ecuador is Miss Earth 2016 winner #MissEarth2016

Miss Earth 2016 winner is from Ecuador, Katherine Espin, the 2nd time that an Ecuadorian beauty won the crown. The first one was Olga Alava in 2011.

23-year-old Miss Ecuador Katherine Espin, who describes herself as a future lawyer, was a heavy favorite for the Miss Earth 2016 title since the very beginning. She was the 1st Runner Up at Miss Bikini Universe.

For the first time in Miss Earth history, all 4 elemental winners came from just one continent - South America.

And only for the 3rd time, Miss Philippines didn't make the semi-final cut.

Miss Earth 2016 Live Stream Updates: KC Concepcion's sister makes it to the Top 8

Miss Earth 2016 finals is being held right now at the MOA Arena, with 83 candidates competing. Based on the Miss Earth 2016 live streaming video on Youtube by Rappler, the Top 16 semifinalists already went through the swimsuit and evening gown competitions. And the Top 8 were announced, then the Final 4.

KC Concepcion's half-sister, Miss Sweden Cloie Syquia Skarnes, made it to the Top 8 but failed to advance to the Top 4.

Perhaps to be safe and to avoid the Philippines from scoring a 3-peat, host candidate Imelda Schweighart was surprisingly not included at least in the Top 16 despite being a strong contender. (She's even way more beautiful than last year's Miss Earth winner from the Philippines Angelia Ong.)

On its 10th anniversary, Magpakailanman will return to the Philippine television, starting November 17, 2012. Mel Tiangco will also return as the host/narrator.

‘The Escort’ Movie Review: Glossy, Well Crafted, Very Commercial Sex Drama With Fine Performances

 'THE ESCORT' is a glossy, well crafted, very commercial sex drama that offers sizzling hot love scenes between the equally daring Derek Ramsay and Lovi Poe, who both liberally show a lot of skin. Derek also has a similarly hot sex scene in the swimming pool with Jean Garcia as the cougar politician's wife who's so madly in love with him. Lovi has kissing scenes with Christopher de Leon, who's actually the one who devirginizes her.

The scene with Boyet de Leon slowly undressing Lovi, removing her panties and her provocative red gown, will surely be talked about. Lovi as Alice is a caring sister to her orphaned siblings. Both Derek and Boyet are terribly attracted to her. Derek offers her to work as an escort girl in his escort agency but she nixes the idea, so he gets her as a receptionist instead.



Boyet offers her to name her price just to spend the night with him, but she chooses to keep her virtue, so he invites her on a dinner date only and pays her P10,000. The price for their next dinner date increases to P50,000 but she still won't give up her virginity, until Jean Garcia's husband, Rommel Padilla, orders his henchmen to beat up Derek and his life is put in danger.

The film takes a soapy turn at this point. Lovi asks Boyet for financial help and, in exchange, he offers her an indecent proposal. She finally agrees to go to bed with him. Derek recovers because of Lovi's help but when he's fully healed, he can no longer find Lovi. Will they still be reunited? Well, that's for you to find out when you watch the movie.

Derek, Lovi, Boyet and Jean all give very fine performances, with Dimples Romana stealing some scenes as comic relief, with a number of funny moments as an escort girl who is duped by her Korean lover. Production values are well above average, especially the cinematography, the editing and the musical score that all helped contribute to make the movie quite worth watching.

Senators Push For Quick Implementation Of Free Tuition For College But CHED Disagrees! Why? Watch This!

Senator Bam Aquino has expressed confidence in the passing of a bill that would make the dreams of many young Filipinos come true. 

He was happy to say that in the next months, tuition fees will not be a problem anymore as it will become free in state universities and colleges.

The Senate Committee on Education, Arts and Culture, together with the Committee on Finance, held its first public hearing Wednesday on proposals for the government to subsidize the tuition of students in state universities and colleges.

“We’re quite hopeful that this will pass. Mahalaga na mabigyan ng tulong ang ating mahihirap na estudyante sa SUCs. Marami sa amin ang talagang tinutulak ito,” Aquino, chairman of the Senate committee on education, said after its hearing on the measure.

He was confident in the bill’s success for the reason that many senators have pursued the subsidizing of tuition fees in SUCs. 

Six bills of the same nature have been filed thus far by Senators Sonny Angara (SBN133), Francis Pangilinan (SBN962), Sherwin Gatchalian (SBN198), Bam Aquino (SBN177), JV Ejercito (SBN158), and Ralph Recto (SBN61). 

Senator Angara’s bill was slightly different, but in a good way, as it also sought to cover both tuition and miscellaneous fees. He stated that the government should be more focused on tertiary level students because it will make the Philippines more competitive in the labor market.

The Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA) Lawyer Joseph Noel Estrada, legal counsel of COCOPEA, expressed his concern over the likely passing of the bill. He said, “The subsidy granting free college education in SUCs would result…[to] a massive migration of students currently enrolled in private HEIs to the state universities and colleges.”

Aquino expects the bill to be passed by 2017, and its implementation in 2018.
