Cinema One Brings ‘Ang Babae sa Septic Tank’ to Boracay
Beach loving moviegoers clad in their colorful summer and pop inspired wear recently headed to the White House Beach Resort in Station 1 with high anticipation of having a grand time at the free beach screening of “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank” hosted by Cinema One, the number one cable channel in the Philippines.
John “Sweet” Lapus and Cai Cortez, hosted the evening and warmly welcomed hundreds of guests at the resort’s shore which was decorated with colorful bottle lamps and soft throw pillows which set the mood for a relaxing movie watching. Even on the island, Cinema One observed the “Earth Hour” where all electricity was turned off. The pre-show was seamless as the beats of the Island Rhythm Force percussion band and some fire dancers kept the audience entertained until it was time to start the film.
Upon turning on all electricity again, Kapamilya stars and beach hotties Jake Cuenca, Megan Young and Kean Cipriano gamely mingled with their fans also engaged the audience in some parlor games where the contestants won special prizes from the event sponsors.
The film’s lead actress and “People’s Choice for Favorite Actress in the 6th Asian Film Awards” Eugene Domingo who couldn’t make it that night gave the audience a funny heartfelt message on video about how much she wanted to be there but can’t because she’s currently filming the Kimmy Dora sequel.
“There are no theaters here on the island so we always look forward to Cinema One’s outdoor screening events where there’s always a free movie treat,” said a Boracay resident. “I love Eugene Domingo! The movie was so funny! I am looking forward to the next Kimmy Dora. Thanks Cinema One!”, shared a guest from Manila.
The film was segued with a mini concert lead by Kean Cipriano and his band Callalily. Shirtless and ripped, the ladies went crazy over his tunes. They swooned and took snapshots of their idol.
The after party sent everyone dancing as DJ Mars Miranda gave Boracay a taste of Top 40 tunes.
