Gerald Anderson has learned not to make promises, especially in front of the camera, when it comes to relationships.
"Halos lahat high profile yung naging relationships ko. Isa sa natutunan ko is I turn my promises into goals na lang. Does it make me less of a man dahil hindi ko na kayang mag-promise? Of course not,” Gerald said at the press conference of ABS-CBN’s Christmas TV special “Give Love on Christmas,” where he stars with his girlfriend, Maja Salvador.
Longest relationship
It will be recalled that Gerald courted Sarah Geronimo and had a relationship with Kim Chiu.
He is so serious with Maja, Gerald wants to have the ‘longest relationship na sana hanggang marriage” with her.
“I pray that I’ll do my best.”
Although controversies gave their relationship a rough start, Gerald and Maja’s love for each other triumphed over the problems.
No promises
“Dati ko pang sinasabi iyon and I made promises but that’s life, minsan may mga bagay na hindi nangyayari. I’m not making any promises, I’m just making that my number one goal in life to have that very long relationship na to stay with the feelings that you have for that person sa simula pa lang. Alam natin na napakahirap niyan but iyan ang goal ko. It’s not a promise, it’s a goal. I just pray to God that it works well.”
He also said that the challenges they faced as a couple were blessings in disguise.
“Ang daming kong natutunan sa kanya (Maja),” Gerald said.
Although hesitant to work with each other at first, Gerald and Maja changed their mind when they read the story of “Give Love on Christmas Day: The Gift of Life.”
The Christmas special starts airing over ABS-CBN starting Monday, December 22.
