MMFF 2014 Box Office Gross Results: 1st Day Ranking | Which of the
entries is the top grosser on first day
The 40th Metro Manila Film Festival had a very successful opening
today, December 25, 2014
It's Christmas Day, and apparently, it has become a tradition already
for most Filipinos to go out and flock theaters for the first day of
the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
There are 8 official entries this 2014, 8 choices for the moviegoers.
Which movie emerged as the top choice on opening day?
No official box office grosses yet coming from the MMDA committee, but
based on what I have observed at the mall cinemas, characterized by
very long queue and many sold-out screenings, I think 'The Amazing
Praybeyt Benjamin' starring Vice Ganda, Richard Yap, Tom Rodriguez,
Alex Gonzaga and Bimby Aquino Yap will take the #1 spot in the MMFF
2014 box office ranking for Day 1.
Long lines and sold-out screenings as well for Kris Aquino-Coco Martin
horror movie 'Feng Shui 2' and Vic Sotto-Ryzza Mae Dizon-Marian Rivera
film 'My Big Bossing'. These 2 could battle for 2nd and 3rd.
With lesser screenings than the above-mentioned films, any of 'Kubot:
The Aswang Chronicles 2', 'Shake, Rattle & Roll XV' and 'Bonifacio:
Ang Unang Pangulo' will take 4th, 5th and 6th slots.
The Bottom 2 perhaps, based on expectations even before the festival
started, are 'Magnum Muslim .357' and 'English Only, Please'.
