The Miss Universe 2014 Prelims or Presentation Show can be watched thru a live stream video at Miss Universe and Telemundo websites. See this year's contestants take part in the preliminary
swimsuit and evening gown competition, 2 important events that will determine who the Top 15 semifinalists will be come finals night 4
days from now.
Who will deliver?
The 2-hour prelims started 7PM on Jan. 21 at the Florida International University Arena in Miami, Florida, USA (8AM, Jan. 22, PH time).
A video interview first was shown for some of the candidates, then the show officially started when the 88 candidates (groups of 5) one by one did their self-introduction. Highly-applauded were Misses Colombia, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Spain, USA and Venezuela.
After that, the preliminary judges were introduced, including one Asian, Vietnamese Jimmy Nguyen.
Preliminary evening gown competition followed, then the preliminary swimsuit competition.
Meanwhile, one major innovation this Miss Universe 2014 as announced during the Preliminary Show is regarding the final Top 5 Q and A portion, where one question will come from one lucky fan. Saw this announcement in one post in their FB Page:
