When Bea Binene
arrived at a restaurant in SM Megamall for the premiere night of her
currently-showing movie, “Liwanag sa Dilim” minus co-star Jake Vargas,
the press was quick to ask where he is (the two haven’t confirmed
reports that they’ve broken up).
Pressed for details, she explained that she herself is so busy (read: she doesn’t have the time for coordinate with him).
Not dating
Is there trouble in paradise?
Jake is a bit more vocal.
Yes, he admits, there is. But he’s not pushing things for now.
“Hayaan ko na lang siyang magpahinga muna, kung ano ang gusto nyang gawin.”
While he admits missing Bea's caring ways, Jake is not dating anyone come Valentine’s Day.
Right time
“Sobrang bait niya. Hindi ka nya pababayaan kapag kasama mo siya.”
He is resigned to the fact that the best thing to do for now is wait.
“Medyo may problema. Baka may balak si Lord. Mahal ko pa rin si Bea. Hindi yon mawawala.”
And when exactly is the right time?
Jake has no timeline.
Romance out of the question
“Kung okay na siya at hindi masyadong maraming iniisip.”
If you were to ask Bea, who plans to work on Valentine’s Day, she and Jake are okay – whether as friends or as lovers, she doesn’t want to say.
Yes, she’s being linked to fellow Kapuso Derrick Monasterio, but romance is out of the question for Bea.
“Masarap kaibigan si Derrick. Enjoy ako. Wala akong iniisip na paano maging more than friends.”
'Steady lang'
Meanwhile, Jake says he and Bea have talked about their relationship and have reached an agreement.
“Steady lang kami.”
The sentence leaves unanswered questions – steady as friends or steady as a couple?
Since The “Liwanag sa Dilim” stars stand by their cryptic answers, we’ll have to wait until after the horror adventure movie is shown to arrive at definite conclusions.
"Liwanag sa Dilim," produced by APT Entertainment, is Jake and Bea's first teamup on the big screen.
