Respected media industry veterans and experts led by ABS-CBN president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio will be sharing their insights on the future of media to hundreds of college communication students at the Pinoy Media Congress (PMC) Year 9, to be held at the St. Paul’s University on February 5 and 6.
A project of ABS-CBN and the Philippine Association of Communication Educators Foundation (PACEF), the PMC aims to prepare the next generation of Filipino communication professionals and media practitioners through a series of talks and activities with the current leaders in the media industry.
On the ninth edition of the PMC, speakers will be discussing different topics in media under the theme “Media Without Borders: What the Future Holds and What You Can Do.” The three-day event will then culminate with a studio tour at the ABS-CBN Compound in Quezon City.
The speakers on the first day are ABS-CBN Customer Relationship Management head Nandy Villar (Digital Media Trends), ABS-CBN Digital Terrestrial Television head Chinky Alcedo (Digital Television), Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication president Prof. Ramon R. Tuazon (Borderless Education and ASEAN Integration), and ABS-CBN Narrowcast and DTT Head March Ventosa with Ernie Lopez and Mark Yambot of ABS-CBN Publishing Inc. (Publishing in the Digital Era).
They are joined by DZMM station manager Marah Faner-Capuyan (Radio Without Borders), Manila Radio FM and Star Music Group head Roxy Liquigan (Current Trends on Radio), ABS-CBN Integrated News head Ging Reyes (TV and Online Journalism Trends), ABS-CBN news correspondent Atom Araullo (Advocacy Journalism), and Movie and Television Review & Classification Board chairman Atty. Eugenio H. Villareal (Responsible And Discerning Viewership)
On the second day, the speakers are ABS-CBN Digital Media Division head Donald Lim (Digital Campaigns and Issues), ABS-CBN Special Projects, and Content Management & Film Archives head Leo Katigbak (Restoring Filipino Film History), Skylight Films Business Unit head Enrico Santos, Star Creatives head Malou Santos, and ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc.’s Olivia Lamasan and Angie Yu-Pineda (New Models of Creation and Distribution of Films), ABS-CBN Customer Business Development head Vivian Tin (Understanding the Audience), and ABS-CBN TV Production head Laurenti Dyogi (Kapamilya All-In).
ABS-CBN Broadcast head Cory Vidanes, Reyes and Tin will also lead the panel during a dialogue with the students.
