Ai-Ai delas Alas' long-rumored transfer to GMA 7 has been confirmed and made official when she signed a 2-year exclusive contract with the Kapuso Network earlier today, April 16, 2015.
gmanetwork: "Ai-Ai de las Alas is moved to tears by the touching welcome that she received. #AiShallReturn via @jacbartolome"
GMA actually invited me just last night to attend the contract signing and presscon of a major artist today, 9:30AM, at the 17th floor of GMA Network Center, but sadly, I wasn't able to come. The major artist wasn't named in their invitation. Alas! It happened to be the Comedy Queen Miss Ai-Ai delas Alas, after I saw that Twitter photo of her during the contract signing, though it's no longer surprising since she already hinted about it yesterday on Instagram when she said, "TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY --- thank you GOD FOR ALL THE BLESSINGS... Tom will be awesome--- #aishallreturn #aimbless".
As her hashtag (#aishallreturn) says, it's actually just a return for Ai-Ai delas Alas to GMA 7, after 16 years with the Kapamilya Network, ABS-CBN, where she became a Comedy Queen and a Box Office Queen.
She's already a GMA talent during the 90's and starred in the shows "R.S.V.P.", "Lunch Date", "Salo-Salo Together (SST)" and the sitcom "1 For 3" with Vic Sotto and Rosanna Roces.
Among Ms. Ai-Ai's upcoming GMA shows include a morning show, the TV remake of Angel Locsin-Richard Gutierrez 2005 movie 'Let The Love Begin' and a Sunday show (Willie Revillame's co-host in 'WowoWIN'?)
With her GMA comeback, at least the Kapuso network somehow now has 3 "queens": Marian Rivera, Regine Velasquez and Ai-Ai delas Alas.
It's a big challenge now for GMA 7 to make Ai-Ai's star shine brighter or bring back the immense fame she used to have while she was still with ABS-CBN.
