Vice Ganda was one of the Ten Outstanding Manilans, honored in celebration of Manila City's 444th anniversary.
The comedian grew up in Tondo, studied at the Far Eastern University in Sampaloc, and worked at comedy bars in Ermita before he rose to fame in showbiz.
Also in the list of Ten Outstanding Manilans were William Teng, chairman Solar Entertainment; Robert S. Jaworski, former senator and professional basketball player; Eufrocina A. Sulla, Senior Deputy City Prosecutor; Carmelita Salandanan Manahan, Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals; Vincent Maniquiz Tañada, playwright, actor, director, producer; Mercedes S. Pascual, vendor at Arranque Market; Lorenzo B. Alconera, city electrician; Edgar A. Maranan, biotechnologist; and Robert Y. So, environmentalist.
