DERRICK MONASTERIO as Almiro has finally appeared in "Mulawin vs. Ravena", along with Bea Binene as Anya, Bianca Umali as Lawiswis and Miguel Tanfelix as Pagaspas, so their fans who've long been waiting for their characters to grow up and be seen in the show are now finally pleased. How does Derrick feel that some folks compare him to Richard Gutierrez as Aguiluz in the first "Mulawin"?
"Siempre, may pressure po, not just sa akin but also kay Bea as Anya," he says. "But I'm glad puro magagaling ang mga kasama naming artista rito, led by Dennis Trillo, so we're confident na hindi kami mapapahiya dito sa 'Mulawin Vs. Ravena'. We're really excited na after a long wait, mapapanood na rin kami ng viewers sa show kasi noon pa maraming nagtatanong kung kailan kami lalabas on screen. O ngayon, heto na, so sana panoorin nila kami gabi-gabi. Ako, I'm really enjoying doing this kasi for once in my life, ngayon ko lang maranasang maging taong ibon at lumipad."
GMA-7 must really be banking on his love team with Bea as this is his fifth team up with her after they worked together in "Tween Hearts", "Alice Bungisngis", "Hanggang Makita Kang Muli" and "Tsuperhero". How does he feel about it? "Comfortable na talaga kami ni Bea sa isa't isa so I don't see myself having a new ka-love team pa. Tanggap na rin naman kami ng viewers para sa isa't isa so I'm happy that we don't need to adjust anymore kasi hindi na kami nagkakahiyaan pa."
What can he say about Bea's statement that he has never really courted her seriously? "As of now kasi, mas priority namin talaga ang work. Lalo ngayon, mahirap ang roles namin kasi lumilipad kami, may action scenes, tapos may drama rin. Kaya focus muna sa careers kasi mahirap yung maging on talaga kayo, tapos kapag nagkaroon kayo ng LQ, tiyak na hindi maiiwasang maaapektuhan ang quality ng trabaho nyo. So it's much better na we keep it on a more professional level na lang muna. Anyway, best of friends naman kami as of now."
