Director Irene Villamor Of 'Meet Me In St. Gallen' Admits She Was Inspired By The 'Before Sunrise/Before Sunset Movies'

DIRECTOR IRENE VILLAMOR is one the young female Filipino directors we have today. The most senior among them is Laurice Guillen, followed by Olivia Lamasan and Rory Quintos, then Joyce Bernal, Cathy Molina, Mae Alviar, Ellen Marfil, Veronica Velasco, Antoinette Jadaone and now, Sigrid Andrea Bernardo of the currently showing "Mr. and Mrs. Cruz".

Other indie directors who have made their first movies are Hannah Espia, Marie Jamora, Sari Dalena, Samantha Lee, Connie Macatuno, Pam Miras, Ivy Baldoza, Maribel Legarda, Ida del Mundo. Gina Alajar has directed soaps but has yet to direct a full length film.

Going back to Direk Irene Villamor, she debuted with "Relaks, Lang It's Pag-ibig", an indie film, then followed it up with a mainstream flick with Viva, "Camp Sawi", a hit. And now, she has just finished a new movie, "Meet Me in St. Gallen", that's partly filmed in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Why did she choose St. Gallen to be the setting of her movie's final act?

"They have a quaint Christmas village and it's a charming old town in Northeastern Switzerland na bagay sa story," she says. "We shot there on the second week of last December in the middle of winter kaya sobrang lamig. The story is told in three chapters. The first two, set here in Manila. Yung una, nagkakilala sila sa isang cafe. Next is five years later and yung last chapter, set in St. Gallen, is two years later."

The movie shows the two main characters doing a lof of talking and it's reminiscent of Richard Linklater's "Before Sunrise/Sunset" movies. How different is "St. Gallen" from these movies that have cult following?

"Those great films are my inspiration. I love them all. Ang ikinaiba ng movie ko is this is my own take. As a filmmaker, you want to make your own interpretation and this is mine. May idea ako noon na series of conversations which I wrote down at umabot ng 15 pages. Nasa laptop ko lang siya and it wasn't until Bela Padilla read it and pushed me to pitch it sa Spring Films, na siya namang nagdala nito sa Viva and now, movie na siya. It's about two people, Carlo Aquino as Jesse and Bela Padilla as Celeste, who meet by chance at nagkaroon agad ng unexpected connection. First meeting nila, parehong masama ang takbo ng buhay nila. Then time passed and they're in a better place. They've changed over time and when they see each other again for the third time, they ask themselves: what will we do now from here?"

Now, let's see if "Meet Me in St. Gallen" will be as big a hit at the tills as the past offering of Spring Films, "Kita-Kita". Our personal apprehension is that we already have a surfeit of these two-character "hugot" films lately, like "12", "All About You", "Mr. and Mrs. Cruz". We just hope hindi pa nagsasawa o nauumay ang moviegoers natin with this kind of movie.

Robin And Rommel Padilla As Very Effective Endorses Of Bravo Food Supplement That Helps Enhance Their Masculinity

ROBIN PADILLA seems like on a winning streak. His movie with Sharon Cuneta, "Unexpectedly Yours", is a blockbuster and his two current shows, "Pilipinas Got Talent" and "Sana Dalawa ang Puso", are both rating well. Now, he has just renewed his contract for a masculinity enhancement product, Bravo Food Supplement, along with his Kuya Rommel.

They were launched as Bravo ambassadors last year at Black Mamba and their re-launch was also held in the same venue last Tuesday. How effective are Robin and Rommel as Bravo endorsers? "Very effective," says Bravo product manager Gil Caoile. "After one year in the market, we're now one of the leading brands compared to others na ten years na sa market. Robin and Rommel are real Bravo men!"

Is Robin really using the product? How active is his sex life? "Kung puede, twice a day," says Robin. "Nagba-budget pa ko niyan, ha. Dati, puede ko kahit all night long. E, ngayon kasi, 48 na ako."

Does he and wife Mariel intend to come up with another baby soon? "Naku, wag muna. Noong buntis siya sa baby naming si Isabella, diyeta ako kay Mariel, e. Ngayon lang ako nakakabawi uli tapos susundan agad, so huwag muna. Si Mariel ang magdedesisyon kung kelan niya gusto uli."

How about Rommel? "Naku, mas active pa sa'kin ang sex life niyan," says Robin.

"Kung kaya ng daily, gagawin ko," says Rommel. "But now na 53 na ako, every other day na lang."

Is Bravo really effective for them? "Sobrang effective," says Robin. Ang maganda rito, all natural herbs. Nothing synthetic."

JASON ABALOS is doing lead roles at ABS-CBN, but he's now playing a supporting role in his first project with GMA-7, "The One that Got Away". Didn't he mind? "Not at all," he says. "Okay lang sa'kin maging support kasi kalilipat ko pa lang and I welcome the chance to work with all my co-stars here. Happy naman ako sa role ko as Gael Makalintal, the brother ni Lovi Poe na isang doctor pero single dad na may anak. Eventually, I will be close to Rhian Ramos. Enjoy ako working with all of them. Ito naman ang goal ko sa paglipat, to get the chance to work with other stars and other people on the set."

He's amazed at the energy of Lovi, Rhian, Max Collins and Dennis Trillo. "Very friendly sila kahit ngayon ko lang sila mga nakatrabaho. At parang hindi nauubusan ng energy kahit mahaba ang oras ng taping. Si Lovi, hindi sumusuko sa puyat. I appreciate naman yung pagiging palabati ni Rhian. Pareho kaming mahilig sa car racing kaya nagkakasundo kami sa kuwentuhan."

His girlfriend, Vicki Rushton, has joined the Bb. Pilipinas pageant. "I'm giving her my full support. Dream niya kasi na maging beauty queen noon pa. I will be there with her every step of the way and I will pray na manalo siya sa coronation ng night."

OPM Icon & Living Legend Jose Mari Chan Gives Awards To Artists And Musicians Who Worked With Him In His 'Going Home To Christmas' Double Platinum Album

JOSE MARI CHAN is a true icon and living legend in the local music industry. As a singer-songwriter, his hit list is incomparable, from his first single "Afterglow" in 1967 and "Deep in My Heart" in 1969, to subsequent hits like "Can We Just Stop & Talk Awhile" and "Beautiful Girl", to his Double Diamond Record Award-winning album, "Christmas in Our Hearts", to his second Christmas album in 2012, "Going Home to Christmas".

Joemari hosted lunch to give awards to the singers, arrangers and artists who worked with him in his "Going Home to Christmas" album that has achieved Double Platinum status and has 22 uplifting Yuletide ditties. He laments that, with the coming of the digital age, OPM (Original Pilipino Music) seems moribund, with some recording companies having shut down. People no longer buy CDS's as it's now so easy to copy and download songs through the internet.

The awarding was held at Caruso Restaurant in Makati and the recipients include Father Johnny C. Go, SJ; Joel Trinidad; Homer Flores and daughter Hannah; Moy Ortiz and The CompanY; Psalmo 47; Jun Latonio; Mary The Queen Children's Choir; Ria Villena-Osorio; Kitchy Molina; Jude Roldan; Yaron Gershovsky; Robert Delgado; Alan Smallwood; Loren Steele; Junie Devecaiz: and Joe Mari's musician sons Jose Antonio, Michael Philip Ciprian and Francisco Rafael, and granddaughter Ramona Isabel. Those who failed to make it include Jimmy Santiago, Gerard Salonga, Freddie Santos, Ogie Alcasid, Pinky Valdes, Shiela Valderrama, Noelle Cassandra, Teenee Chan, Louie Ocampo, Trina Belamide, Noel Mendez, Marvin Querido, Rudy Lozano, Khalil Refuerzo and Liza Chan Parpan.

"The success of an album is the work of not just any well-known artist, no matter how established he is, but the collective effort of other artists, the musicians, composers and arrangers," says Joemari. "That's why I am giving these Double Platinum awards in recognition of all those who help me in making 'Going Home To Christmas'."

In the album, Joemari sings not only with his children (Joe, Michael, Franco and Liza) in the song "Christmas Moments", but also with his and wife Mary Ann Ansaldo's 10-year-old granddaughter Ramona Isabel Buñag Chan. As you can see, music is really in the genes and running in the blood of the entire family. It's no surprise then that Joemari's fans are wondering as to when he will have a concert that will include all the members of their very talented family. That's really something worth looking forward to, isn't it?

A New Soap Will Replace 'The Beautiful Lolas' As Pre-Programming Of 'Eat Bulaga'. Will It Be Big Enough To Compete With The Robin Padilla Soap?

THE BEAUTIFUL LOLAS talk show as the pre-program of "Eat Bulaga" is bowing out soon. It seems talk shows have gone out of fashion. The show is produced by TAPE, which also produces "Eat Bulaga" and the shows before it like "Trops" and Ryza Mae Dizon's talk show.

The new show to replace "Beautiful Lolas" will now be produced by GMA Network itself. We're told it's titled "Close to You" and will star Camille Prats, character actor Neal Ryan Sese, and newbies Ayra Mariano and Bruno Gabriel.

They will be up against ABS-CBN's 'Sana Dalawa ang Puso' that starts airing this Monday, starring Robin Padilla, Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap. What do you think are the chances of Camille and company versus that of Robin and company?

The Greatest Showman Movie Review: Showstopping Musical Numbers And Catchy Songs Make This A Must Watch Direct-For-The-Screen Musical

IF YOU ENJOY watching musicals, no doubt you'll be entertained by "The Greatest Showman", based on the life of PT (Phineas Taylor) Barnum, who put up one of the most popular circuses ever and later on became a politician in Bridgeport, Connecticut where he died in 1891. His circus folded up only in May of last year after 146 years of continuous operation.

They took a lot of liberties in telling the story of the well known 19th century showman to make it more watchable for today's generation of viewers, so don't swallow everything you see on screen hook, line and sinker. But still, it's very watchable, what with its many showstopping numbers that are all well choreographed and executed for the big screen.

There are also lots of catchy tunes (by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul who did the songs in 'La La Land' and the Broadway hit 'Dear Evan Hansen') done in a contemporary style so as not to alienate millennials. And of course, the biggest asset is Hugh Jackman in the title role. His charisma oozes on screen and he handles the highly energized musical sequences with much panache, really knowing how to hold and merit our attention when he's on screen.

Barnum comes from the working class, the son of a tailor who falls in love with a girl from a rich family. He eventually marries her (Michelle Williams) and they have two daughters. In an effort to improve their station in life, he buys a museum in New York City, but only a few people are interested so he puts up a show with human oddities, like the bearded lady (Keala Seattle), the midget known as Gen. Tom Thumb (Sam Humphrey), the Siamese twins Chang and Eng, and other "freaks".

The show quickly becomes a huge hit and he eventually gets to recruit a young partner Phillip Carlyle (Zac Efron, playing a fictional character), who manages to arrange for them to perform in front of England's Queen Victoria. He also gets to convince famous singer Jenny Lind (Rebecca Ferguson), known as the Swedish Nightingale, to do a concert tour in the U.S.

Barnum suffers a setback when his circus is burned down by some irate detractors but the movie is not just about his rise and fall but also about his rising once again from the ashes. Made directly for the big screen (in contrast to films adapted from a stage musical or a cartoon movie), "The Greatest Showman" is not as thoroughly engaging as "La La Land" (another musical written directly for the big screen), but it's still a good crowdpleaser with its uplifting musical sequences.

The songs really soar and the actors are all very competent singers and dancers. It's nice to see Zac Efron singing once again after the TV flicks that made him, "High School Musical". The romance between him and the American-African trapeze artist with pink hair (Zendaya) is fairly endearing and their duet number in the love song "Rewrite the Stars" is one of the film's best highlights, done while they're dangling up in the air inside an empty circus tent.

And once again, we go back to Hugh Jackman. With this and his interpretation of Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables", he finally shows that his powerful baritone is enough of an attraction and there's really more to him than just being part of the X-Men as Wolverine. After all, he really started as a song-and-dance man on stage winning the Tony Award for "The Boy from Oz".

There are really many good songs, starting with 'The Greatest Show', which opens the movie as it takes us on a tour of what the circus has in store for us, urging us to "just surrender as you feel the feeling taking over."

The next song, "A Million Dreams", showing a young Barnum and his girlfriend dreaming about their own destiny. By the end of the song, the boy turns to Hugh and the girl to Michelle Williams. The bearded lady's song, "This Is Me", could very well be the new anthem of outcasts who become helpless victims of prejudice. It is now nominated as best song in the Oscars.

Rebecca Ferguson also slays as Jenny Lind singing the power ballad 'Never Enough'. She's said to be just lip syching, but her performance carries it well.

The film is directed with much verve and color by Michael Graccy, who manages to inject a valid message about the importance of tolerance in accepting diversity among as humans, which is something that the current U.S. president seems to be allergic to.

Janine Gutierrez Hurriedly Escapes From Presscon Of 'Sherlock Jr.' To Avoid Being Asked About Her Romance With Rayver Cruz

JANINE GUTIERREZ is so nice to accept her role as Irene in "Sherlock Jr." even if she knows that it's just a short special participation and her character will die a couple of days after the new series starts this coming Monday. In the story, she and title-roler Ruru Madrid are sweethearts. Both of them are also fearless investigative reporters who are willing to risk their lives in pursuing and seeking the truth in any story assigned to them.

Janine joins a beauty pageant that's reported to be tainted by corruption and immorality. She doesn't know that this assignment will put her life in great danger as she unwittingly steps on the toes of a crooked senator, played by Tonton Gutierrez. She eventually ends up dead and Ruru tries to find out who are the culprits, also endangering his own life.

Janine has a pet dog in the story, a golden retriever named Siri who is at first very hostile to Ruru and doesn't like him to be her master's boyfriend. But when Janine passes, Ruru inherits the doggie and they eventually form a good tandem in helping each other solve crimes.

Ruru then gets a new love interest in Gabbi Garcia, who plays a contestant in the beauty pageant that Janine joined. Without Ruru knowing it, Gabbi is the illegitimate daughter of Tonton Gutierrez with Sharmaine Arnaiz, the man who killed Janine and this will be one of the biggest conflicts in the story.

At the presscon of "Sherlock Jr.", two of its big stars were absent. First was Ai Ai de las Alas who plays Ruru's mom. She is said to be feeling indisposed. Then there's Gabbi who's in the hospital due to kidney stones.

Janine was present at the presscon, but she hurriedly made an exit after the cast was introduced to the press. "Tumakas agad at umeskapo dahil ayaw sigurong magpa-interview tungkol kay Rayver Cruz, kasi balitang-balita na sinagot na niya ito, pero ayaw pa lang nilang umamin," says one writer.

Richard Yap Welcomes Being Reunited With Jodi Sta. Maria And The Chance To Work With Robin Padilla In 'Sana Dalawa Ang Puso'

RICHARD YAP is glad to be back in a regular TV show in "Sana Dalawa ang Puso". "I did two films, 'Achy Break Hearts' and 'Mano Po 7', so na-miss ko talaga doing a soap," he says.

How is it working again with Jodi Sta. Maria after "Be Careful with My Heart"? "It's still the same. Masaya kasi friends na kami and we're really comfortable with each other. We just picked up from we left off. I play a different character here, so it's a new challenge for me. Pero lalo kay Jodi kasi she plays dual roles. Bagong challenge din na kasama namin ngayon ang isang Robin Padilla sa show."

How did he feel when Robin says he was initially intimidated by being the third wheel in their love team so he had to request a meeting with him first? "I think it's a way of breaking the ice for us to get to know each other better muna before we started taping. I didn't know about his concerns then, but I also sort of felt na we should get to know each other muna, so I didn't have any hesitation to meet up with him. Right naman niya to ask for a meeting kasi mas senior siya sa akin. He's thanking us but the truth is, we should be the ones thanking him for agreeing to do 'Sana Dalawa ang Puso', kasi I don't think itutuloy ito ng ABS without him."

Since Jodi is playing two characters, Richard says he doesn't think he and Robin would be fighting over her. "Sa story kasi, yung mayamang Jodi, si Liza, ipinagkasundo ng parents niya sa parents ko for us to have an arranged marriage. Siempre, we're both resisting the idea. Si Robin naman at yung isa pang Jodi, si Mona, both come from the working class. So, doon magkakaroon ng mga conflict in the course of the show kaya abangan nyo when we start our telecast on Monday, January 29 kapalit ng 'Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin'."

Rhian Ramos Does A Sexy Scene In Attempting To Seduce A Comatose Dennis Trillo In 'The One That Got Away' That The MTRCB Might Find Objectionable

RHIAN RAMOS should be more careful with her scenes in "The One that Got Away" as the MTRCB might find them quite objectionable. In a recent episode, she tried to seduce Dennis Trillo as Liam even if he's already in coma after a car accident.

Rhian plays the free-spirited and liberated Zoe and she tries to wake up Dennis from being comatose by undressing by his bedside and making him feel her sexy body. The scene could have been controversial and objectionable but, in all fairness, Rhian didn't go beyond the bounds of decency and handled it quite well.

GMA is very pleased with TOTGA in its pilot week as it's off to quite a good start. The story will become even more interesting and intriguing in the succeeding episodes, so don't miss it every night as Rhian, Lovi and Max continue to try to outdo each other in their efforts to gain the attention of Dennis, who happens to have a current girlfriend, Sophie Albert.

Hashtag Ryle Santiago Of 'Showtime' Chosen To Be The New Brand Ambassador Of Megasoft's Cherub Baby Care Products

RYLE SANTIAGO gets big star treatment from Megasoft Hygienic Products, the makers of Cherub Cologne, Wipes, Baby Powder. He was launched as their new brand ambassador in a grand solo presscon at Oriental Palace, Morato Ave.

Ryle is the only son of Sherilyn Reyes and Jun Santiago who separated when he was still very small. He now considers his mom's second husband, Chris Tan, as his real dad. Chris has already adopted him legally.

"Santiago is the screen name that I use for showbiz," he declares. "But for other things, like my social media accounts, I have been and most probably will always be a Tan. Kasi, siempre, ang nag-alaga naman sa akin mula nung bata pa ako hanggang ngayon is ang Daddy Chris ko. So I want to give him that and be a part of his family. I want to be his son. I am Santiago by blood, yes, but I am a Tan at heart."

And why did Megasoft choose Ryle to be the face of Cherub? "We believe he's the perfect endorser kasi he's very talented. He can sing, dance, act and do hosting. He's very wholesome and also comes from a good family. He's raised well by his parents. He also gives importance to education and despite his busy schedule, he finds time to finish his college studies in MINT College where he's majoring in filmmaking and he's even a scholar. Kaya perfect siya for our advocacy, which is to impart to the youth of our land the importance of having a good education for you to succeed in life. We aim to include him in our provincial tours in various schools and universities that encourage our young people to study well for their own future," says the very amiable Megasoft Marketing Vice Pres. Aileen Choi Go.

Ryle says he's really using Cherub products and their cologne and wipes are part of his own Kikay kit. Ryle was given a big break by IdeaFirst company as one of the leads in the horror-comedy series, "ParangNormal Activity", that ran for several seasons on TV5. He's now part of Hashtags in "It's Showtime", a mainstay in the afternoon soap, "Asintado", and also doing a new movie, a musical entitled "Bakwit Boys" about orphans.

Very articulate, Ryle can express himself well in good English, unlike some stars who try to do so but only end up murdering the English language. He admits that, at 19, he's very much a mama's boy but his mom is no stage mother. "I listen to all her advice to me, like lagi kang maligo at huwag kang male-late. I want her to always accompany me, but she doesn't want to be tagged as a stage mom who meddles with her son's career."

Ryle is very well bred and polite and it's obvious Sherilyn and Chris truly raised him well. Here's hoping he will help the sales of Cherub products to double up.

Starstruck Runner Up Ayra Mariano Now Goes Solo After Ka-Love Team Elyson De Dios Chose To Return Home To Cebu To Finish His Studies

AYRA MARIANO is the first runner up in the last Starstruck search and she was initially paired with the male runner up Elyson de Dios, who's now missing in action as he felt nothing much is happening to his career so he decided to return home to his native Cebu to resume his high school studies.

"After we did 'D'Originals' last year, walang bagong show so his parents told him to just go home sa kanila sa Cebu," says Ayra. "Ang sabi raw sa kanya, kapag tapos na siya ng high school, it's up to him if he still wants to return to Manila and pursue a career in showbiz. Nakaka-miss din kasi we were also cast together in 'Poor Senorita' with Regine Velasquez before. But then, yun ang gusto ng parents niya and it's just proper for him to obey them. We stay in touch naman po, kumustahan. Nitong last two shows ko, 'Mulawin vs. Ravena' and 'The GRIND', wala na akong ka-love team. I was on my own na, just like in my latest assignment, 'The One That Got Away', where I play Ekay, the younger sister of Lovi Poe na babaeng bakla. Parang birthday gift po ito sa'kin when I turned 19 noong January 10."

Is she open to being paired with other young male actors? "Why not? It would be nice to work with other GMA stars like Ken Chan, Jeric Gonzales, Dave Bornea, Ivan Dorschner. Sabi, eventually, in TOTGA, baka maging love interest ko raw si Migo Adecer, the male winner sa batch namin in Starstruck, who plays naman the younger brother of Rhian Ramos in the story kasi pinaghiwalay rin sila ng female winner na si Klea Pineda na kasali naman ngayon sa Sunday show na 'Sirkus'."

GMA-7 is very pleased with the wonderful feedback that TOTGA for its pilot week. Instant fans of the winning romantic comedy say it's worth the long wait. They like the feel good atmosphere of the story and they think all the characters, beginning with Dennis Trillo as Liam, are all cute and relatable. But they say they also miss the show that replaced it 'My Korean Jagiya' that always sends good vibes each evening. They're requesting GMA to give it a part 2 as they miss Heart Evangelista as Gia and Alexander Lee as Jun Ho. Will GMA listen to see their request? Let's see.

Kris Bernal Welcomes New Contravidas Sheena Halili And Jade Lopez Who Help Make The Show More Exciting As It'S Just About To Reach Its Thrilling Conclusion

KRIS BERNAL welcomes the inclusion of a new contravida in her hit drama show, "Impostora". This is Jade Lopez who, like Kris, is a Starstruck discovery. This is in addition to Sheena Halili, another Starstruck find that is also making viewers mad and outraged because of her role as Rafaela who connives with Sheryl Cruz.

"Magaling si Jade na aktres so I'm sure makakatulong siya para lalong gumanda ang show, just like Sheena na very effective din sa role niya," says Kris. "Sila ang mga bagong magpapahirap sa character ko as Nimfa."

Jade is very thankful for the role GMA-7 gave her in "Impostora". "I play Danica, isang babaeng maraming lihim at maraming masamang balak sa buhay," she says. "Mismong ako, hindi ko kinakaya ang role ko kasi paiikutin niya talaga ang lead characters sa series. Very manipulative siya at sure akong kaiinisan siya ng viewers."

Doesn't she mind doing contravida roles? "Not at all. Enjoy akong pahirapan ang mga bida. Dream ko ngang maging magaling na contravida like Cherie Gil, Jean Garcia, Eula Valdez na talagang nagmamarka sa tao. E, mas bagay naman talaga akong maging contravida dahil mukhang contravida raw ako. Ha ha ha!"

What can she say that "Impostora" is currently one of the highest ratings show in GMA's Afternoon Prime and how is it working with Kris Bernal? "I'm really very happy naman for Kris sa success ng 'Impostora'. She deserves it as she has always been very hardworking. Ang tagal na since the last time na huli kaming nagkasama, that was in 2009 in 'All My Life'. Magkabarkada kami roon. This time, magkalaban na. Na-miss ko siya talaga kasi eight years na since we last worked with each other. And I'm also happy na successful businesswoman din siya with the restaurants she opened. Masipag talaga siya ever since."

She doesn't hide the fact that she's on with a non-showbiz guy. "We're getting on married in October. I think we have any time to prepare for it."

GMA-7 is fortunate that their afternoon dramas are all rating well: "Ika-6 na Utos", "Impostora" and "Haplos". It's because of their strong women characters: Sunshine Dizon as Emma vs. Ryza Cenon as Georgia in "Ika-6 na Utos", Kris Bernal as Nimfa vs. Kris Bernal as Rosette in "Impostora", and Sanya Lopez as Angela vs. Thea Tolentino as Lucille in "Haplos". As a Triple Threat, they're really unbeatable as they've clobbered the shows of other channels in their time slots which proved to be of no match at all.

Young Indie Director Zig Dulay Of 'Paglipay' Fame Gets Big Break Directing Telefantasya 'Sirkus' For GMA News & Public Affairs

DIRECTOR ZIG DULAY says both Mikee Quintos and Mikoy Morales are perfect for their roles in "Sirkus" as the lead characters who happen to be twins. "Bagay na bagay sila and they both deliver better than we expected," he adds.

He also wants to thank Cherie Gil for agreeing to do the contravida role of La Ora, who wants to snatch away the special powers of the twins. "She's very nice to me nang magkakilala kami sa isang international filmfest in Malaysia where she won best actress for the movie, 'Sonata'. For 'Sirkus', she exceeded all our expectations. Kahit baguhan lang ako, never niyang pinaramdam na isa siyang big name actress sa local showbiz. Walang kaere-ere. I really want to thank GMA News and Public Affairs for giving me this show kasi ang ganda ng concept nila and it promotes positive Filipino family values."

He has helmed acclaimed indie films like "My Mother's Maiden Name", "Bambanti" and "Paglipay". Has he turned his back on indie flicks and now devotes his time to TV? "No. I just finished a new indie film for Direk Brilliante Mendoza, starring Angel Aquino, Nar Cabico and Kiray Celis, so abangan nyo po yun. Tapos may sisimulan akong isa pang bagong movie so tuloy-tuloy pa rin ako in both the small and the big screen."

Angelica Panganiban Moves On After Heartbreaking John Lloyd Episode, Stars In 'Dalawang Mrs. Reyes' That's Grade A By CEB

ANGELICA PANGANIBAN, who's 31, felt flattered when her co-star in "Dalawang Mrs. Reyes", Judy Ann Santos, said that she felt nervous acting with her because Angelica is such an expert in comedy. "Siempre, nakaka-overwhelm kasi bata pa lang ako…" Angelica is saying but Juday, who's 39, quickly butts in: "Masakit ha."

"I mean, bata pa lang ako, artista na ako. At pinapangarap ko na talagang makatrabaho ko si Ate Juday. Kaya noong magkasama kami sa soap na 'Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka', hindi ako nagsasalita noon in her company, sobrang tahimik lang ako kasi starstruck ako. Nakikinig lang ako sa mga kuwento niya. E, ngayon, mas confident na ako so kaya ko nang makipagkuwentuhan sa kanya."

She says that she's happy when Juday acknowledged that she's very good in comedy. "For her to say that, di ba? Masyado siyang nakakatuwa kasi talaga namang tinitingala ko siya. I'm sure hindi lang naman ako kundi ng lahat kaya sure din akong maraming naiinggit sa'kin kasi katabi ko siya ngayon dito sa presson at nasa iisang poster kami. Siguro ang daming artistang gustong maglalaslas kasi bakit ako ang kasama niya at hindi sila? Mayabang ako ngayon, sorry."

She admits 2017 was not a good year for her when it comes to her lovelife. She thought she and ex- BF John Lloyd Cruz were reconciling, then, all of a sudden, he was already in the arms of Ellen Adarna who's preggy now with their child. But 2017 is also good as she did a lot of traveling and she had a superhit movie, "The Unmarried Wife", that gave her a FAMAS best actress award so the year somehow ended well for her. "So move on na lang kasi naiiyak ko na rin namang lahat. Pero ayoko pa munang umibig. Takot pa ko. Saka na lang."

And now, she opens 2018 with a new movie that has all the looks of another hit, "Dalawang Mrs. Reyes". "Kinuwento pa lang sa'kin ang concept, aliw na aliw na ako. When I read the script, nine pages pa lang, tawa ako nang tawa nang malakas, which happened to me before sa 'Here Comes the Bride', which was a blockbuster. Nang malaman kong si Juday ang makakasama ko, kahit di ko pa tapos basahin ang script, tinanggap ko na agad kasi alam kong masaya ang project na ito. At yun nga, while we're shooting this, naka-build kami ng deeper friendship which I will really treasure. Ayoko na ngang matapos ang shooting kasi grabe ang separation anxiety ko, baka mapapadalas akong tumambay sa house nila."

Klea Pineda, Starstruck VII Female Winner, Has Ball Playing Zefira, Ang Babaeng Apoy, In 'Sirkus' That Starts Airing This Sunday On GMA-7

KLEA PINEDA is the female winner in the last Starstruck. After doing "Encantadia", she's now cast in another telefantasya, "Sirkus", where she plays Zefira, ang babaeng apoy. "Maganda yung powers ko rito kasi I can throw balls of fire to my enemies," she says.

Last month, she was sent to represent our country at the 11th Asian Supermodel Contest in Saipan. She didn't win the title but got the Best on Screen or Most Photogenic award. "It helped a lot para madagdagan ang self confidence ko," she says. "Parang training yun kasi first time kong nagbikini sa photo shoot, sa ramp, sa harap ng maraming tao. I was really scared pero nilakasan ko na lang ang loob ko."

She has said before that she really intends to join beauty pageants and she feels she's more ready now. "Pero kailangan ko pang dalasan ang pagpunta sa gym to melt away yung natitira pang baby fats sa katawan ko. Also, magna-19 pa lang ako sa birthday ko on March 18 so siguro, I have to wait a couple of more years pag early 20s na ako before I join a pageant para mas mature na rin ang outlook ko in life. Meantime, magfo-focus muna ako sa showbiz career ko kasi I also really love acting."

BG Productions Of Mrs. Baby Go Readies Their Lineup Of Local And International Projects For New Year 2018

BG PRODUCTIONS International announces its big projects for 2018, helmed by award-winning directors. First is "Almost A Love Story", filmed on location in Italy starring Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio, Lotlot de Leon, Matet de Leon and Ana Capri under the direction of Louie Ignacio. It is co-produced with Salento Cinema in Italy, where it will also be shown.

Then there's "Latay," directed by Ralston Jover, the story of a battered husband played by internationally acclaimed actor Allen Dizon. Originally tapped to play his abusive wife is Lovi Poe, but she's under contract with Regal and can't get permission yet from them to do this movie so they might consider another actress.

Then there's "Angela Lumunsad", directed by Joel Lamangan who wants Heart Evangelists to play the title role, a woman who will be torn in her romance with a soldier and an NPA rebel who both desperately fall in love with her. Joel also has an environment-friendly project, "Maruming Hangin", with anti-pollution as its theme. They're planning to enter it in Metro Manila Filmfest 2018.

Also in the works is Mel Chionglo's adaptation of Lualhati Bautista's acclaimed book, "Sixty In the City". BG Productions CEO Baby Go is offering the lead role to Charo Santos Concio, but we know Charo is shooting two new movies now with Star Cinema.

Director Louie Ignacio has another movie, "School Bus," an entry in the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, to start filming in March, about streetkids living in a dilapidared school bus. This will be the first time that BG Productions will join the prestigious independent filmfest. Louie Ignacio has another project about an "unano wrestler" and he wants no less than superstar Nora Aunor to play the mother of the midgets. Also lined up for this year are movies from Jason Paul Laxamana, Neal Tan and Joey Romero.

Ms. Baby Go also dreams to do a movie with the Star for all Seasons, Ms. Vilma Santos, and to have her own theatre where she can screen the movies that she produces. She also has an offer to co-produce a Hollywood movie and is flying soon to the USA for a meeting.

Rhian Ramos On Her Most Daring Outfit Ever In 'TOTGA': 'Di Po Totoong Wala Akong Panty'

RHIAN RAMOS just laughs off the rumor that she's planning to leave GMA-7 soon because it took so long before she was given a new show, "The One That Got Away", since her last show was still "Sinungaling Mong Puso" almost one year ago.

"Wala akong balak umalis sa GMA as I'm very grateful for the projects they give me. Kahit wala akong soap, I did 'Taste Buddies', a lifestyle show which I host with Solenn Heussaff. And while wala akong soap, nag-movie naman ako, so I'm still busy kaya okay lang. Happy naman ako na ang new project ko is a light romantic comedy like 'TOTGA' kasi nga, my last show na 'Sinungaling Mong Puso' was such an intense and heavy drama na napagod ako sa kaiiyak as a battered wife."

It's common knowledge she's now on with a non-showbiz guy, Jason Choachuy. Do they plan to get married soon? "Ay, wala pa. Sabi ko, sa kanya, I'm only 27, so give me mga eight more years pa kasi marami pa kong gustong gawin sa buhay. At this point, I'm just not ready yet. Someday, when I'm fully totally completely ready, we will get there."

'TOTGA' started airing last night and feedback is very positive. Rhian plays the very sexy Zoe. "I'm a swimwear designer in the story. That's why you'd see me wearing sexy swimsuits in the show. I'm carefree and kikay, popular in social media kasi I'm also a blogger. I live by myself in an uppity condominium and come from a wealthy family, but I feel unloved by my parents who separated noong bata pa ako, so I became closer to my brother, Migo Adecer. Naging close ako sa characters nina Lovi Poe and Max Collins kasi we found out, lahat pala kami, naging ex ni Dennis Trillo. Masaya kami lagi sa taping and we're really enjoying each other's company."

In a publicity photo that went trending in social media, she is shown wearing a daring and revealing gown and those who've seen it say she's not wearing any panties. "Di po totoong wala akong panty. Actually, may panties ako roon. Hindi lang kita kasi siempre, concealed siya. There are different kinds of underwear na babagay sa kung anong dress na suot mo, so huwag na silang maiskandalo."
