“Enough of comparing, enough of whatever. That’s very immature,” she told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! and other entertainment media during the press conference for “Rock of Ages” on Wednesday, June 6.
“I mean, I have nothing to say about it. With Charice, whatever she does, that’s fine, as long as she’s happy. Natatawa lang ako sa mga tao,” Aiza said, citing headlines that said Charice was “uma-Aiza”or that the international singing sensation is “the new Aiza Seguerra.”
“She’s a whole different human being so let her be. If that’s what she wants, if that is image is kung sino siya talaga, let her be,” she said.
Happy
Two years after her last theater appearance (as Gary Coleman in “Avenue Q”), Aiza is back on stage as Regina the hippie city planner-turned-activist in the local production of the stage musical “Rock of Ages.”
Aiza will star with local stars Vina Morales and Nyoy Volante, as well as international rock star MiG Ayesa, who starred in the first national tour of the acclaimed Broadway musical.
The singer-actress said she always enjoys working with theater professionals.
“Sa totoo lang, napakasarap ng ganito. One thing I love about theater is they’re all professionals. Alam mo yun, pag sinabi mong call time, kahit si MiG Ayesa pa yan, andun yan before the call time,” Aiza said.
“Yan yung sana mamana ng mga artista natin na iba.”
She is also part of an upcoming ABS-CBN soap opera which will star Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap.
As for her love life, Aiza says she’s happy, but refuses to elaborate.
“I’m happy. Yun lang. I’m happy, period. Thanks,” she said.
Produced by Atlantis Productions, “Rock of Ages” runs from June 15 to July 8 at Carlos P. Romulo Theatre, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.
