“(She advised) na huwag ikasal ng maaga. She got married very young and that’s something na ayaw niya mangyari to any of her daughters,”Karylle said in an interview at the press conference of her newest endorsement Miladay jewelry on Thursday, May 10. Karylle is Miladay’s first brand ambassador.
Karylle added that she doesn’t have a target year for getting married since she believes in waiting for God’s time. Having her own family is not Karylle’s priority since she has many things on her plate: singing, acting and hosting the daily noontime show “It’s Showtime.”
In God’s time
“Target year? Wala. In God’s time, yung mga friends ko ngayon pa lang rin kinakasal. So, wala namang pressure,” Karylle revealed.
Karylle quipped a line from a song: “My Mama said you can’t hurry love.”
Speaking of her mother, Karylle shared things people don’t know about the Zsa Zsa.
For instance, little do people know that for all her elegance and glamor, Zsa Zsa has a “very funny” side.
“Super kalog. She’s a funny girl who has a great sense of humor. She loves her family and kids,” Karylle said.
Aside from her mother’s talent as a singer and actress, Karylle is also proud of her generosity and concern for others.
“She’s talented, she’s nice. There are so many things that people don’t know about, her generosity, her humor. She’s my source of safety. Everything will be okay when she’s around,” Karylle added.
Very funny mom
How is Zsa Zsa off-cam?
“The first thing that comes to my mind is my mom in pajamas. She’s a very simple girl who loves to watch videos and be updated with all the TV shows from everywhere,” Karylle shared.
Karylle believes Zsa Zsa and her father, Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari raised her well.
“It’s also a big honor when people say your parents raised you well. It’s my way of honoring them, kumbaga showing people how my parents raise me,” Karylle explained.
People are also aware of the difficult time Zsa Zsa’s family is undergoing because of Dolphy’s health condition. And Karylle is supporting her mother by always being there for her.
“I think naman for difficult situations like that, ako kasi, tina-try ko na itipon yung family in simple ways. Like now, meron kaming group chat sa I-message. We have a sister abroad, so parang ini-start ko lang iyon and it became effective for us to communicate with each other.”
About Dolphy
Karylle also hopes Dolphy will be named one of the country’s National Artists someday.
“Sana mabigay. I was talking to some people na kailangan talaga ikinakampanya siya. Many people really want it for him, so sana maibigay.”
Does she want Zsa Zsa and Dolphy to walk down the aisle someday?
“Kung ano man ang gusto nila, doon ako,” Karylle replied.
Although mother and daughter are working this Mother’s Day, Karylle plans to take Zsa Zsa to a cooking class.
“Kanina sabi niya, ‘Where’s my Miladay?’ Pero joke lang daw. Hindi naman siya materialistic so I don’t know what to give her.
But, maybe cooking class together, something we can learn together,” Karylle said.
