O’Hara’s last project was the TV5 series “Sa Ngalan ng Ina,” starring Nora Aunor.
He was also a movie and stage actor and wrote scripts for television.
O’Hara worked with National Artist for Film Lino Brocka through PETA (Philippine Educational Theater Association) in 1969.
He wrote the script for “Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang”, “Insiang” and “Cadena de Amor” among others.
As an actor, he was in “Tubog sa Ginto”, “Gumising Ka, Maruja” and “Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang.”
He won the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) best screenplay award for “Rubia Servios”,Best Director for “Bulaklak sa City Jail” and Best Actor for “Halimaw sa Banga”.
O'Hara’s indie film , “Ang Babae sa Breakwater," was accepted at Cannes. The Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino also named it one of the Ten Best Films of 2000 to 2009.
