“I think I’ll always be in her shadow kasi bunso ako sa kanya,” she told Yahoo! Philippines OMG and other members of the press during a visit to the set of “Toink!” Sino Ang Tama?” last week.
Alex added being compared to Toni is not an issue for her.
“What’s good with my sister is, lagi nyang shinishare yung spotlight with me. Pag meron syang concert, pag meron syang ano, kahit papaano talaga, shinashare nya yung nakukuha nya,” the 24-year-old actress-host explained.
She also said, “Critic kasi kami sa isa’t isa so nagcocomment kami sa isa’t isa. Syempre, masaya ako dahil nabibigyan nya ako ng time, napapanood nya ako kahit busy sya.”
Idol
Alex even said that if there’s anyone she’d idolize, it would definitely be her sister.
“Kung meron po akong gagayahin, it is, of course, Toni na. Sige na, siya na.” the Kapatid star quipped. “Hindi naman kami nagkakalayo ng pinanggalingan. Kumbaga, may mga natira siyang mga talento sa tiyan, nakuha ko sa nanay ko.”
She added, “Kung may i-idolin ako, kapatid ko na po yun and thankful ako dahil yung mga binibigay sa akin na show, binibigyan ako ng hosting and at the time binibigyan ako ng acting.”
But what does she think is her edge over her more experienced sister?
“Syempre, mas bata ako. Mas bagets ako sa kanya,” Alex joked.
Alex further said, “Saka ano na kasi Ate ko, medyo serious na sya masyado.”
As one of TV5’s primetime princesses, what kind of projects does Alex want to work on next?
“Marami pa po akong gustong gawin,” Alex said, adding she’d want to start working on her planned movies with Viva Entertainment.
But as for what she wants to focus on as a television star, the TV5 actress said, “Kung ano ang binigay sa akin dahil as of now nae-enjoy ko ang lahat.”
Besides “Toink! Sino Ang Tama?”, she is hosting showbiz talk show “Juicy!” and is starring in the primetime drama “P.S. I Love You.”
What she’s looking for
In a previous interview with the press, Alex admitted she’s dating a non-showbiz guy. During the set visit, however, the actress-television host said they’re no longer seeing each other.
“Kasi matagal na siyang dating-dating. Pero dahil full blast na siya sa Law School, hindi na talaga kami nagkikita,” she said. “Wala rin akong time sa kanya. Kung kailan ako available, hindi siya available. So parang walang sense.”
Ironically, Alex said her mother Pinty already allowed her to have a boyfriend.
“Nagtataka talaga ako kasi kung kailan okay na, pinapayagan na ako, saka naman nagkagulo-gulo dahil sa schedule at sa time,” Alex explained. “Ito ngayon, alam ng mommy ko. Sinabi nya na, ‘kung kayo, kayo talaga’.”
Alex has been linked to fellow TV5 star Kean Cipriano. What exactly is she looking for in a man?
“Syempre gusto ko, Christian talaga.,” she shared.
Alex added, “Tapos gusto ko talaga napapatawa ako.”
Faith, Alex explained, will be an important factor when she enters a relationship in the future.
“Ang pinakaimportante sa akin, kung approved ng Mommy at Daddy ko. Kung di approved ng Mommy at Daddy ko, hindi magwo-work yun. E ang pinaka-number one nilang gusto is Christian,” she said.
“Toink! Sino Ang Tama?” airs every Sunday at 2pm on TV5.
