Can pick-up lines make a box-office movie?

Thanks to the weekly GMA 7 gag show “Bubble Gang”, pick-up lines have become popular. Soon, pick-up lines are being heard from everyone. especially the young, and everywhere , even in the august halls of the Senate, courtesy of the feisty and fearless Sen. Miriam Defensor- Santiago.

Examples of pick up lines from Senator Miriam: "Ang pag-ibig, parang pasahe sa jeep, kung minsan di ka nasusuklian"; "Pangalan mo pa lang kinikilig na ako, paano na kung magkaapelyido na tayo?" and "Straw ka ba? Kasi sipsip ka na, plastic ka pa."

The big question is: Can pick up lines make a box-office movie?"

Ogie Alcasid thinks so. He and “Bubble Gang” co-star Michael V came up with the idea of making a movie out of pick-up lines.

Ogie even thought of getting Senator Miriam as guest in GMA Films and Regal Entertainment’s "Boy Pick Up: The Movie". But she has no time.

Playing the title role for the first time makes Ogie feel pressured and excited.

"I also felt pressure doing the movie but the kind of pressure that is positive. Iba Ito sa paggawa ng concert."

He is excited because "after 25 years in the industry, ngayon lang ako nakapag-title role!"

Ogie also released "Boy Pick Up, The Album" last May 3. It has six songs.

Directed by Dominic Zapata, the movie also stars Dennis Trillo, Solenn Heussaff, Sam Pinto, Gwen Zamora, Jackie Rice, Ellen Adarna and Sarah Labhati. Special guests are Sen. Bong Revilla, Derek Ramsay, Dingdong Dantes, Boy Abunda, Gina Alajar and Pepe Smith.
