The senator opposes the bill, which he finds “not necessary, not beneficial, and not practical for our people.”
“And no, I will not shut up when it comes to my family. I hope one day, if u have ur own child, he/she will b proud enough to stand up for u,” Ciara tweeted on Tuesday, August 14.
Losing a child
She also defended her dad when he revealed that he and wife Helen Gamboa lost a child conceived while his wife was taking contraceptive pills.
“Yung anak ko, five months, ni hindi ko nahipo. Nahawakan ko patay na. Makati Medical Center can prove to the fact na wala silang makita na dahilan na nagkaganoon yung bata kung ‘di dahil nagcocontraceptives ang asawa ko,” Sotto said in his speech.
Ciara added that she hopes other people will never know how it is to lose a child.
“My parents experienced losing a child. Bashers/haters can't change that fact. Sana it wont happen to any of you,” Ciara tweeted on Monday, August 13.
Negative comments on Twitter prompted her to shoot back, “Do we really need to insult a person we don't agree with?... You think it helps?”
On the brighter side, Ciara thanked her dad’s supporters and retweeted their messages.
“Thank you. Kakaunti Lang Kayong may respeto,” Ciara replied to a Twitter user.
