Manny Pacquiao and Jinkee Pacquiao's Divorce Settlement Revealed by Freddie Roach

www.showbiznest.com

But that was before Manny Pacquiao's fight with Juan Manuel Marquez in November of last year.

In a news posted at ABS-CBN News website, Pacquiao's boxing coach Freddie Roach revealed on this interview with LA Times that the Pinoy world boxing champ was served with divorce papers on the eve of his fight with the Mexican boxer in November 12, 2011 which was why Pacquiao struggled against Marquez on their bout.

Pacquiao’s marriage with his wife Jinkee was then surrounded with a lot of controversies - from womanizing, alcohol and gambling.

Jinkee even publicly announced that she will not support his husband's fight with Marquez but changed her mind on the last minute.

After Pacquiao pulled off a unanimous decision against Marquez, he desperately worked hard to save his marriage - from giving up all his vices to closing some of his business ventures like his cockfighting farm, sold his casino and his nightclub, and his lifestyle which involved "girls and everything that goes with it."

"Now, he's back with his wife, reading the Bible every day, and he's given up basketball," Roach said.

Bea Binene Rumored Rift with Barbie Forteza, True?

Bea Binene Rumored Rift with Barbie Forteza, True?

Bea Binene, the lead star of GMA’s afternoon fantasy series Alice Bungisngis and Her Wonder Walis, belied rumours that she and fellow “tweenstar” Barbie Forteza are not in good terms. In fact, she said that they are “very good friends.”

Pero kami, we’re very very good friends. We’re very OK, and sa set walang ilangan, walang something,” Bea said in an interview.

Bea and Barbie are going to star as twins in GMA’s upcoming fantasy-drama series Luna Blanca, which according to the network’s press release is a sequel to Luna Mystika, a 2008 fantasy series starring Heart Evangelista.

Her character in Luna Blanca is not very far from her comical and bubbly character in Alice Bungisngis and Her Wonder Walis, which is also a fantasy series. Is she more comfortable with fantasy series than heavy dramas?

Bea’s team-up with kapuso tween star Jake Vargas was recently recognized by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation as the “Most Promising Love Team” of the year. How does she feel about the award?

I had mixed emotions: super happy, honoured and thankful. We (Bea and Jake) feel very blessed to have received such a distinction,” she said.

The Jake-Bea loveteam, endearingly called by their avid fans as “JaBea,” has gained quite a big following especially among teenage viewers. The two are almost always together in TV series and movies. Have they not gotten bored with each other?

Hindi naman. Kahit almost every day kaming magkasama marami naman kaming ibang napag-uusapan.

Sometimes, networks experiment on forming new team-ups to break the monotony of seeing the same faces together on television. Is the “JaBea” love team to be split apart soon?

If ever Bea’s network decides – JaBea fans knock on wood – to team her up with another star, she says that she won’t demand for anyone in particular.

Kahit naman sino ang ibigay sa akin ng GMA I will accept him nang maayos. At kahit sino basta, I’ll promise to do my best. Kahit anong show, kahit anong project, kahit sinong ka-loveteam.”

This year has been a fortunate one for Bea; she was never without a show. How does she feel about it?

At the same time nervous kasi panibagong story, panibagong challenge, panibagong show.”

What Karylle is learning from Zsa Zsa

Although Karylle is already of marrying age, she is biding her time in tying the knot since her mom, Zsa Zsa Padilla advised her “not to hurry love.”

“(She advised) na huwag ikasal ng maaga. She got married very young and that’s something na ayaw niya mangyari to any of her daughters,”Karylle said in an interview at the press conference of her newest endorsement Miladay jewelry on Thursday, May 10. Karylle is Miladay’s first brand ambassador.

Karylle added that she doesn’t have a target year for getting married since she believes in waiting for God’s time. Having her own family is not Karylle’s priority since she has many things on her plate: singing, acting and hosting the daily noontime show “It’s Showtime.”

Karylle Tatlonghari

In God’s time

“Target year? Wala. In God’s time, yung mga friends ko ngayon pa lang rin kinakasal. So, wala namang pressure,” Karylle revealed.

Karylle quipped a line from a song: “My Mama said you can’t hurry love.”

Speaking of her mother, Karylle shared things people don’t know about the Zsa Zsa.

For instance, little do people know that for all her elegance and glamor, Zsa Zsa has a “very funny” side.
“Super kalog. She’s a funny girl who has a great sense of humor. She loves her family and kids,” Karylle said.

Aside from her mother’s talent as a singer and actress, Karylle is also proud of her generosity and concern for others.

“She’s talented, she’s nice. There are so many things that people don’t know about, her generosity, her humor. She’s my source of safety. Everything will be okay when she’s around,” Karylle added.

Very funny mom

How is Zsa Zsa off-cam?

“The first thing that comes to my mind is my mom in pajamas. She’s a very simple girl who loves to watch videos and be updated with all the TV shows from everywhere,” Karylle shared.

Karylle believes Zsa Zsa and her father, Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari raised her well.

“It’s also a big honor when people say your parents raised you well. It’s my way of honoring them, kumbaga showing people how my parents raise me,” Karylle explained.

People are also aware of the difficult time Zsa Zsa’s family is undergoing because of Dolphy’s health condition. And Karylle is supporting her mother by always being there for her.

“I think naman for difficult situations like that, ako kasi, tina-try ko na itipon yung family in simple ways. Like now, meron kaming group chat sa I-message. We have a sister abroad, so parang ini-start ko lang iyon and it became effective for us to communicate with each other.”

About Dolphy

Karylle also hopes Dolphy will be named one of the country’s National Artists someday.

“Sana mabigay. I was talking to some people na kailangan talaga ikinakampanya siya. Many people really want it for him, so sana maibigay.”

Does she want Zsa Zsa and Dolphy to walk down the aisle someday?

“Kung ano man ang gusto nila, doon ako,” Karylle replied.

Although mother and daughter are working this Mother’s Day, Karylle plans to take Zsa Zsa to a cooking class.

“Kanina sabi niya, ‘Where’s my Miladay?’ Pero joke lang daw. Hindi naman siya materialistic so I don’t know what to give her.

But, maybe cooking class together, something we can learn together,” Karylle said.

Jed: New singers are my wake-up call

Instead letting new singers faze him, Jed Madela would rather take their presence as a challenge, a wake-up call for him to improve his craft.

He knows that “anytime soon, somebody better can come and take your place.”

Jed knows that even if he holds the distinction of being “the only guy na bumibirit,” somebody else can take his place in an instance. But instead of losing sleep and seeing this as a threat, Jed prefers to look at it as a wake-up call, a reason to keep on being a better performer.

“I use it to my advantage instead of letting me feel nervous,” he relates.

Besides, what’s another potential obstacle when Jed has gone through a lot worst as a struggling performer?

May 10, 2012: Jed Madela during the press conference held at Max's Restaurant in Sct. Tuazon, Quezon City for his upcoming concert at the Music Museum on Friday, May 18, 2012.

“Wala kaming pahinga noon. Minsan, wala pang tao. Nag-perform na ako na one table lang ang nanonood, musical arranger ko pa ang nandon. Nadaanan ko na ang lahat ng pambabastos.May nagsabing huwag na kaming tumugtog,” he recalls.

Positive thinking

He felt bad and embarrassed. But the optimist knew there are always people out there who watch him perform than those who wish him ill.

Thanks to such positive thinking, Jed went on to become the country’s pride when he won grand prize at the 2005 World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood, California, where he bested 3,000 singers from 52 countries.

That was not all the “ASAP 2012” co-host and performer went through to be where he is now. Jed had to present a demo CD every time he wanted to push a song to recording companies.

“Now, it’s very convenient for everybody to be exposed,”’ Jed observes. You have the internet and You Tube. You have Twitter and Facebook. Sobrang suwerte ng generation ngayon.”
But the challenge, he adds, is just as great.

“Sa sobrang daming lumalabas, you have to be phenomenal and stand out para mapansin ka at magtagal ka. Everyday, may nag-a-upload (ng videos).”

This surplus of new talent has also given rise to new material. Jed is happy to note that unlike their predecessors, today’s bands play original songs that dictate musical taste. Back when he was still with the showband, Jed and his co-performers were stuck in covers that stunted their creativity.

Bands setting the trend

“Bands used to cater to people’s wants. Their priority was to make people enjoy their night-out. Today, the audience adjusts to the bands. It’s the bands that the audience follows,” he explains.

The sad news is bands are not as hot as they used to be, says Jed.

“It all started with the acoustic guitarist. Tapos singer na lang. Mas mahal ang ban with six singers compared to an acoustic duo. Doon nag-start ang decline ng banda,” he relates.

Jed wants bands to stage a comeback because “masaya, feel mo talaga.”

He should know. That’s where he started. Jed was all set to work as a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines when an aunt noticed how unhappy he was about it.

“She saw that I really wanted to sing. So as my manager, she put me in my first band Pose, which played in Fashion Café in Glorietta the `90s. When my dad found out, he got angry and brought me home to Iloilo. Ayawe niya ko mag-banda kasi hindi raw stable. Pero sumali pa rin ako ng banda, Dyevest. Okay lang sa kanya kasi andon lang naman ako at nababantayan niya,” Jed relates.

But he wanted more. Jed asked his dad to let him spend just one year in Manila to follow his heart. That was 2003, the year Universal Records discovered him and Voice of Asia named Jed Best Male Singer.

Big thank you

No wonder Jed wants to say a big thank you to his lean but memorable years with the band.

“I didn’t have formal (music) training. Sa banda ko natutunan kung paano i-strengthen ang boses ko kas gabi gabi ang puyat. May naninigarilyo pa. Don ko natutunan that not every song is sung the same way.”

Jed has tapped his band mates from Prime Council to perform with him in “Back to Basics” on Friday, May 18 at Music Museum.

With former bandmates Aliyah Parcs, Gail Blanco and Radha as guests, Jed will perform showband songs --pop, rock, upbeat, ballads, etc.

Jed and company used to perform a whole range of songs at Strumms, Hard Rock, Ratsky and others way back when he was not yet boxed in as a balladeer. That’s why the concert is called “Back to Basics.”

One can’t move forward if one doesn’t look back. And Jed, dreams of a signature song (ala Martin Nievera’s “Be My Lady”) and a musical in mind, knows this only too well.

Ogie: Regine busy with mommy duties

Ogie Alcasid shared that wife Regine Velasquez is busy 24/7 with mommy duties to their five-month old son Nathan. That’s why she can’t play even a cameo role in his upcoming film, “Boy Pick-Up (The Movie).

“Hindi (siya magca-cameo). Twenty four hours kasi siya nag-aalaga. Yung uwi ko dito laging 3:30, 5:30 (a.m.). So, kawawa yung baby kapag iniwan pa niya,” Ogie told the press at the set visit of “Boy Pick-Up” on Tuesday, May 8.

He added that Regine usually sleeps around 5 to 11 in the morning, the same time Nathan goes to bed after playing.

“Noong umalis ako, tulog pa siya kanina. Minsan pag dating ko sa set, tatawag siya, ‘Nagpaalam ka ba sa akin? Bakit parang hindi ko naramdaman?’ Eh ,tulog ka pa,” Ogie shared.

Ogie Alcasid

When he’s not busy doing “Boy Pick-Up” and “I Do Bidoo Bidoo,” Ogie makes up for his absence at home by spending time with Regine and Nathan.

“Kapag nasa bahay ako, kahit papano, ako ang nagpapatulog. Basta kapag nasa bahay ako, sa baby lang ako talaga and sa nanay niya,” Ogie said.

Pick-up lines

Ogie shared that he plans to celebrate his 45th birthday by taking a vacation in Singapore with his family. He’ll also watch a Formula 1 race.

Now that they already have a son, does Ogie use pick-up lines on Regine?

“Hindi na, yung kay Misis, hindi na pick-up line. Lambing line dapat kapag wife,” he replied.

Ogie is happy pick-up lines are now part of people’s everyday conversations. Variety shows and TV series often make use of them as well.

“Nakakatulong sa amin iyon kasi nasa consciousness ng mga tao ang pick-up lines. Kahit saan ka pumunta, sumisigaw sila ng `Boom!’ Then, nagbibitaw sila ng pick-up lines. Nakakatuwa kasi sinusundan nila.”

Pressure

Even if he has played the lead in some movies, Ogie admits feeling pressured about playing the title role for the first time. And this time, he’s on solo flight, minus perennial partner Michael V.
“Sobra (ang pressure without Micahel V.). 25 years na ako nagpe-pelikula, ngayon lang talaga ako nag-bida, yung title role ako. Although I had films before, pero dalawa kami, ngayon lang talaga yung malakas, i-claim natin iyan. Pero hindi ako napapagod, high yung energy ko,” he said.

As for his female co-stars, Ogie thinks Sam Pinto has a “distinctly beautiful face”. He also admires her because “she knows how to dress herself.”

Solenn, on the the other hand, took Ogie by surprise.

“Si Solenn noong una, ang ganda, sexy, daming talent. Iyon pala sira ulo rin. Revelation siya sa film na ito.”

“Boy Pick-Up: The Movie” opens in theatres on June 6.

John Travola Accused of Sexual Harrassment by 2 Masseurs and a Male Cruise Ship Attendant

Two anonymous male masseurs and one Chilean cruise ship employee name Fabian Zanzi came forward with claims that the 58-year-old Hollywood actor John Travolta, who has long battled allegations that he is gay, assaulted and sexually harassed them in three separate occasions.

The two anonymous male masseurs filed a $2 million civil lawsuit
against Travolta whom they claimed made sexual advances towards him during a massage. However, thew actor's lawyer Marty Singer said, "None of the events claimed in the suit ever occurred. The plaintiff, who refuses to give their name, knows that the suit is a baseless lie. It is for that reason that the plaintiff hasn't been identified with a name even though it is required to do so."

Meanwhile, Zanzi, the third alleged victim, says that Travolta accosted him in 2009 while he was working as a VIP liaison on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. He explained that Travolta offered him $12,000 to have sex, but that he spurned the actor's advances.
Travolta,on the other hand, denied the claims by Zanzi, saying: "This individual is simply hopping on the bandwagon to get his 15 minutes of fame by coming up with a story for the first time with something that supposedly happened over three years ago. Nobody has ever heard from this guy before. No lawyer has contacted us."
