Katrina Lorraine Tapia, the luckiest girl at the UP Oblation Run 2014

A female UP student received media attention lately in relation to the UP
Oblation Run 2014 held last Friday. Not that she Tapia also ran, but because of being the "luckiest" among the female spectators.

As part of the tradition, each of the Oblation runner had to hand a rose to a girl, and this certain UP student Katrina Lorraine Gamab Tapia received not one, not two, but many roses after she got trapped and surrounded by those men.

Just imagine a situation wherein you want to escape, but you can't 'coz you're also loving it. Perhaps, that's what Katrina felt in that moment.

Associated Press: "Katrina Tapia, center, reacts to naked Alpha Phi Omega fraternity students from the University of the Philippines in Diliman
as they surround her during their annual naked run around the campus dubbed the "Oblation Run" Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at suburban Quezon city northeast of Manila, Philippines. Around 40 fraternity members made the run to call the attention of the Government in various issues such as corruption, global warming and the row with China at the disputed islands in the South China Sea." @APO_Explorer: "Lady of the Hour. Ms. Katrina Lorainne G. Tapia. Oblation Run 2014 at UP Diliman."

As some other girls at the event were saying, it's a great feeling to receive a rose from an Oblation runner, but since she got many roses, Lorraine for sure had her best feeling ever.

She also made it to national news, when she got interviewed by media people. I think she's a cutie.

In her Twitter post, Lorraine is thankful for the Oblation roses that she got.

Held annually (every December) at the University of the Philippines, the Oblation Run is being participated in by Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity members, who run for a cause around the UP campus with only their faces covered.

Today, December 16, is one big day for APO, the celebration of its 89th founding anniversary. - Mykiru.ph

OMG! NU Bulldogs' Jeth Troy Rosario had Angel Locsin's face printed on his pillow

We wonder what would kapamilya actress Angel Locsin if she learned that National University Bulldogs’ Jeth Troy Rosario has been sleeping with her all  night, every night?

Rosario is head over heels with Luis Manzano's beautiful actress-girlfriend. The NU center is so smitten with Locsin that he even had the actress’ photo printed on his pillow as what the cager posted on his Instagram account @jethtroy18.

We wonder too if his girlfriend Michelle Ann Aguas knew all about this?

Filmmaker Jason Paul Laxamana's Acclaimed Pampango Movie, 'Magkakabaung', Is Based On Various Real Life Stories

JASON PAUL LAXAMANA is, at 27, one of our youngest writer-directors. His acclaimed film, “Magkakabaung”, which won the NETPAC Award at the Hanoi International Filmfest and the best actor award for lead actor Allen Dizon, is now showing at SM Megamall and Glorietta as an entry in the New Wave Section of the Metro Filmfest.

Jason took up communications in UP and graduated in 2012. “Inabot ng nine years bago ko natapos kasi nagsi-shift ako ng course,” he says. “I even tried taking up sociology, then bumalik uli ako sa broadcasting. I was a production assistant to Direk Maryo de los Reyes and I also got to work with Direk Dante Mendoza and Jeffrey Jeturian.”

He was only 22 when he helmed his first full length film, “Astro Mayabang”, an entry in Cinema One 2010. It was a flawed work and it wasn’t until last year’s “Babagwa” that he was noticed. The film was accepted in various film festivals abroad, allowing him to travel. “Magkakabaung” is now taking him to the Cleveland Filmfest and next year, to a filmfest in India. Set in Sto. Tomas, Pampanga, the country’s casket capital, it’s the story of a poor coffin maker (Allen Dizon) who kills his only daughter by mistake and has a hard time laying her to rest. “It’s inspired by various true stories,” says Jason. “Of someone who died due to wrong medication, of a man who stole his own daughter’s remains from the hospital due to poverty, of the shady business involving the sale of cadavers to medical schools and of the real coffin makers of Sto Tomas.”
