Kathryn Bernardo Inspired & Challenged By New Show, 'La Luna Sangre', That Requires Her To Do Action Scenes With Daniel Padilla

KATHRYN BERNARDO is so inspired doing her new show with Daniel Padilla, "La Luna Sangre". "It's a big project at ngayon pa lang kami gagawa ng ganitong vehicle na hindi lang drama-love story kundi may kahalong horror at action," she says. "Talagang pinaghandaan namin ang aming roles.

Nag-training kami sa iba't ibang klaseng martial arts kasi alam naming we'll do a lot of action scenes. Gusto namin, kami mismo ang gumawa ng aming stunts at huwag magpadobol hanggang makakaya namin. We're really thankful kay Direk Cathy Molina dahil sobrang tutok siya sa amin when we do our scenes to make sure we perfect them."

'La Luna Sangre' is the third book in the 'Lobo' saga. It started with 'Lobo' starring Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin, followed by 'Imortal' with John Lloyd Cruz and Angel. Now, JLC and Angel pass the torch to the Kathniel love team, with them appearing briefly in "Luna Sangre" as the parents of Kathryn.

The show starts with JLC as Matteo and Angel as Lia living a simple life as humans as they have lost all their powers. Their peaceful life is shattered when Richard Gutierrez as Sandrino hunts them to kill their daughter Malia, who is prophesied as the chosen one who'll kill the King of Vampires that Sandrino is. She is then secretly raised by Joross Gamboa until she grows up and meets Daniel Padilla as Tristan, who is in turn looking for the murderer of his own dad, Romnick Sarmenta, and is also raised secretly in Manila by Randy Santiago.

What's Kathryn's reaction to bashers who say she's not fit to follow in the footsteps of Angel Locsin? "At this point, I don't pay much attention anymore sa bashers na sobra kung manlait. Sa tagal ko sa showbiz, yung mga opinyong hindi naman talaga nakakatulong sa career ko, alam ko nang i-handle. Ignore na lang at mas mag-focus na lang para sa mas ikakaganda ng trabaho ko, lalo na nga't kakaiba talaga at very demanding ang role ko rito sa 'La Luna Sangre' as Malia. For the first time, nag-action kami ni Daniel (Padilla) dito. May eksena pa ngang kami mismo ang maglalaban. Mahirap, di maiiwasang magkasakitan kami kahit papaano. Pero masaya, alalay siya sa'kin but I told him, let's do it right para maging convincing talaga ang labas on screen. Abangan nyo ag nagsimula sa June 19, we're really very proud of it."
