JOSEPH MARCO is the third wheel in Star Cinema's "Dear Other Self", the new romantic comedy starring Jodi Santamaria and Xian Lim that opens today in theaters nationwide. His career is really doing well as he also plays Maja Salvador's leading man in the hit afternoon soap, "Wildflower".
"I really can't complain kasi marami akong blessings," he says. "Doing the movie with Jodi is a big blessing kasi she is so nice to work with. Hindi ko nga akalaing after doing 'Pwera Usog' sa Regal, may darating agad na kasunod, ito ngang 'Dear Other Self', directed by Veronica Velasco na marami ring naitulong sa amin to improve our craft."
What's his role in "Dear Other Self"? "The movie is divided into two. Ako yung kasama ni Jodi doon sa regular niyang buhay at trabaho and I'm the guy next door type na hindi ka mahihiyang ipakilala sa parents mo. Doon sa other story, si Xian Lim naman ang kasama niya."
He also seems to work well with Maja in "Wildflower". "Oh yes, magaan kasing katrabaho si Maja so we're very comfortable working on the set."
Does he see himself falling for Maja, who's loveless like him right now? "I really admire her, lalo yung husay niya sa craft niya. At napakabait niya. But we're good friends at ayokong masirap yung friendship namin pag may ligawang pumasok sa eksena. Okay na yung working relationship muna kami ngayon as co-actors."
What can he say that his former leading lady, Alex Gonzaga, has found a non-showbiz boyfriend named Mikee Morada? "Siempre, I'm very happy for her. Mukhang happing-happy naman sila together, e."
If he didn't become an actor, where would he be now? "Palagay ko I will go on an adventure and try to work abroad. Gusto ko talaga, sa London, kasi ilang beses na akong nakapunta roon at maganda ang vibes ko with that city. Parang maraming good opportunities doon."
