SHOW DESCRIPTION: Encantadia (2016 TV series) is a Filipino fantasy television series by GMA Network. It is dubbed as the modern requel (retelling-sequel) to the 2005 fantasy series with the same name. The show was first aired on July 18, 2016 in the Philippines and worldwide through GMA Pinoy TV.

The cast including those who will portray the sang'gres or keepers of the four gems were revealed on April 4, 2016. Kylie Padilla played the role of Amihan, Alena by Gabbi Garcia, Danaya by Sanya Lopez and Pirena by Glaiza de Castro.

It is based from the hit sineserye produced by the same network, Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit which stars Carla Abellana, Mike Tan and Michelle Madrigal.

Encantadia is a vast and magical continent in an "unnamed", enchanted realm. It comprises three kingdoms: Lireo, Sapiro and Hathoria. These three kingdoms, and the Lirean territory, Adamya, bear the four elemental gems that hold the continent in balance. Lireo, in the east, is the kingdom that cared for the gemstones of air and water, with its territory, Adamya. Sapiro, the northern kingdom, kept the gemstone of earth and had its lands blessed with precious metals and stones, and its soil fertile unlike any other land. Hathoria, the kingdom of the west, held the gemstone of fire and utilized it for the development of weapons and war machinery.

The three kingdoms were able to live in peace, but day came when the Hathors (inhabitants of Hathoria) gave in to their greed and started a war to claim the other gems, that they may gain power and rule over the whole continent. The Hathors first waged war with the Sapiro, in pursuit of the gemstone of earth. The Sapiryan king, King Armeo, before Sapiro's fall, was able to kill the Hathor king and claim the gemstone of fire. Sapiro, after the war, was left in ruins. While the death of the Hathor king, and the loss of the gemstone of fire, weakened the Hathor force and made them retreat. King Armeo gave the gemstone of fire and earth to his older cousin, Raquim, and willed that the gemstones be given to Ynang Reyna of Lireo for safekeeping. The four gems have not been separated since.

Years have passed and the story unfolds in Lireo, where Ynang Reyna, Minea, will choose her successor from her daughters Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya. She and Imaw, an elder from Adamya, can feel imminent danger lurking, and as the gods call her to Devas, she has to leave the kingdom of Lireo in good and capable hands. She put her daughters to the test to see their capabilities and know who is best fit to be the next queen. Minea chooses and crowns Amihan, which to Pirena's dismay, led to her rebellion. The chain of events that transpired made way for the separation of the gemstones. Pirena, after having stolen the gemstone of fire sided with the Hathors and gave them back the power they've lost. Hathor now plans to rise up from hiding and bring Lireo to its demise, with the end in view of ruling over the whole of Encantadia.

Sharing Our Family's Great Long Thanksgiving Weekend In Guimaras Island And Iloilo City

WE SPENT THE recent Thanksgiving Weekend in Guimaras and Iloilo and had a great time in doing our share for domestic tourism. Guimaras used to be part of Iloilo but eventually became a separate province. It's an island located in the Panay Gulf, between Negros and Panay in the Western Visayas region. Its capital is Jordan (pronounced Hordan), where the pier is. You get a boat from the Ortiz port in Iloilo City and the boat ride takes about only 15 minutes. Our kids whose jobs are based in the U.S. just invited us to join since they're on holiday because of the long Thanksgiving weekend.

We flew to Iloilo last Thursday and got to the pier at 5 PM, just in time for the last boat trip since Typhoon Marce was starting to make the waves bigger. We hired a van to take us to the resort where we stayed, Raymen, in Alubijod, Nueva Valencia. What's nice is that they have a good network of concrete roads in the island so it's very convenient to travel by car.

The next day, Friday, heavy rains really poured but it didn't keep us from touring the island. We went to Guisi Lighthouse, Guimaras Capitol, mango plantations (famous for very sweet Guimaras mangoes), Pitstop Restaurant where they offer delicious mango pizza, the Trappist Monastery with its beautiful church and where we bought many pasalubongs, the windmills of Buenavista (bigger than the ones in Ilocos) and the Holy Family Hills where they recreated giant stations of the Cross.

On Saturday, the weather cleared up and the sun shone so we went island hopping. We also visited SEAFDEC, a marine reserve where they culture fish and other aquatic life. Sunday, we went back to Iloilo and toured the city. We've been to Iloilo several times because of Dinagyang but we've never really gone around. This time, we hired a car and went to visit the old churches of Jaro, Molo, and also went to Oton, La Paz, Tigbauan, Guimbal, where they have beautiful beaches all around. We also got to visit the Balay na Bato and many old houses.



Iloilo has developed by leaps and bounds since we first went there in the late 80s when my late wife was an invited lecturer in CPU (Central Philippine University). They have built a new international airport in Cabatuan and constructed new wide roads to and from the city where there's no heavy traffic. At the old airport, they built the Iloilo Business Park which is now full of tall skyscrapers with call centers and eateries.

We used to stay at Iloilo Business Hotel at the Smallville Complex (a gimmick place) but now, we stayed at the new Injap Hotel with our children and apos. It's very convenient as it's just right across the new SM City Iloilo and you only cross the footbridge to get there. We really had a great weekend and we recommend you should visit the new Iloilo and also the island of Guimaras.

Vic Sotto's 'Enteng Kabisote 10 And The Abangers' Feels Sad For Kids Who'd Miss His Perennial Kiddie Flick On Christmas Day

VIC SOTTO'S 'ENTENG KABISOTE 10 and the Abangers" is the first in Vic's Enteng franchise that will not be shown as part of the annual Metro Filmfest. Too bad because it's very now in story and execution, showing Enteng's skills in ironworks and robotics industries ala-Tony Stark in the "Ironman" series which clicks so well with kid viewers who flock to movie theaters on Christmas Day.

The new addition in this family film-fantasy-adventure franchise is the fact that Enteng is now a grandfather, with his son Benok (Oyo Sotto) giving him a cute grandchild called Benokis.

Complications in the story arise when the villain Kwak Kwak (Epy Quizon) was expelled from the fairyland Engkantasya and wreaks havoc through a virtual video game.


This makes Vic form the Abangers to fight the bad guys, led by his son Oyo. The Abangers are made up of OEW's, which stands for Overseas Engkantasya Workers, and this includes the triumvirate of the Eat Bulaga Kalyeserye Lolas of Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo and Paolo Ballesteros. Also appearing in special roles are Joey de Leon, Vic's wife Pauleen Luna, child actor Alonzo Muhlach, and the Aldub love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. "Enteng Kabisote 10" is under the twin direction of Marlon Rivera and Tony Y. Reyes.

Baron Geisler vs Ping Medina Controversy: LOOK what Baron did to him!

Baron Geisler is in the news again for wrong reasons, as he allegedly did something that is totally disgusting against fellow actor Ping Medina.

It happened while Baron and Ping were doing a scene together for an indie film entitled "Bubog".

What exactly Baron did? And why Ping, with a bandaged hand, was pictured in a hospital and flashing his tallest finger to Baron?

Before we get into that, let's take a look first at what their director Arlyn dela Cruz has exposed yesterday morning in her Facebook account. She didn't totally reveal what Baron to Ping, but she described it as "unacceptable".








Baron quickly responded to that via FB as well, claiming that it was just a misunderstanding and the director knew beforehand that he was gonna do something to Ping.


Ping Medina meanwhile also broke his silence on the brewing controversy. Just last night, he made this lengthy FB post, detailing what exactly happened, along with a photo of him on a wheelchair with a bandaged right hand at the hospital. You'll be shocked to know what Baron did to him. Read!




















Two hours later, Baron released another statement, indicating that they're out to destroy him and asked everyone not to judge him right away. He followed it up with a videno further explaining his side.

In its pilot episode, Alisto! tells the story of an accident that took place in Sual, Pangasinan: a commuter bus lost brakes and turned upside down on the road. Casualties were recorded, but it was seven year old John Christian who suffered the most squeezed in a window.

Eyewitnesses volunteered and manually pulled John Christian from where he was squashed. But the eagerness to help only made it worse for John Christian's condition.

Alisto! also tackles the latest Modus Operandi that uses children as accomplices in thievery. Featured are women being beaten by their partners caught on CCTV cameras. What should one do upon witnessing such acts?

SHOW DESCRIPTION: On February 21, 2011, together with Unang Hirit and 24 Oras, the program adapted a new set, new graphics, new theme, and new OBB. The "Liga ng Katotohanan" tagline was also dropped in the newscast's titlecard and launched a new slogan "Ikaw at ang Balita" (You and the News). With the help of social media, Saksi launched a segment called "Saksi Ako" where viewers can make their own report there by using cellphone and camera recordings via GMA's Youscoop. The new theme is incorporated with the elements of the 2008–2011 theme music & 2004–2008 theme music and its 2004-2008 bed music. Months after the reformat, Saksi re-designed its graphic packages, and in July 2013, it launched its segment "Midnight Snack", a food-trip segment hosted by Mikael Daez every Mondays to Thursdays, After a one-week hiatus, On November 5, 2013, it returned under the new title "Midnight Express". As part of GMA News' shakeup, Vicky Morales bid farewell to the show after 15 years and was added as the third anchor of 24 Oras, Pia Arcangel, replaced Morales, during that time. The new Saksi launched in November 10, 2014 with new upbeat soundtracks, its newly flat graphic package, and its new title card starts to continue using the camera lens background.
