Look: Jason Dy's VPL shows during Breakthrough concert performance

The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 grand winner Jason Dy had his his first ever solo concert last Saturday, September 17 at the Skydome in SM North EDSA in Quezon City.

Dubbed as "Breakthrough: Jason Dy Live",  Jason belted out a mix of cover songs and some of his hits from his debut album, which was released under MCA Music last year.

But man, did Jason's VPL show during one of his performances that night? Look!

Eumee Capile wrecks Tawag ng Tanghalan records with Miley Cyrus hit

#ShowtimeYeahManDay Eumee Lyn Capile is now the 6th semifinalist for Tawag ng Tanghalan Quarter 3. She earned the slot today, September 19, after winning for the 5th consecutive time.

It's worth noting how Eumee continues to impress by owning Tawag ng Tanghalan records, such as having the highest average score so far and becoming the only contestant to twice scored at least 98%.

For today, Eumee Capilee performed the Miley Cyrus hit 'Wrecking Ball' which earned 98.2%, her 2nd highest score ever (next to her performance of 'Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin', 98.4%) and one of the highest on TNT. Marielle Montellano still has the highest score ever (99.6% for 'At Last').

With scores of 98.4 for 'BNLKM' and 98.2% for 'Wrecking Ball', Eumee is the first to have two performances with a score of at least 98%. Past semifinalist Rachel Gabreza and grand finalists Pauline Agupitan and Marielle Montellano did it just once.

In the Quarter 3 semis, Eumee will compete against Rufino 'Lucky' Robles, Jennie Gabriel, Noven Belleza, Antonio Sabalza and Christopher 'JKris' Rodrigueza. It's the first time that 6 made it to TNT semis, and I hope 3, instead of 2, will qualify to the grand finals.

Director Joel Lamangan Back To Doing Sexy Dramas, Launches Nathalie Hart As A Sexpot In Bg Productions' 'Siphayo' Opens October 5

DIRECTOR JOEL LAMANGAN, who's turning 63 on September 21, has made some acclaimed hit sex dramas before like "Hubog" (for which Assunta de Rossi won a couple of best actress awards) and "Sidhi" (for which Glydel Mercado scored a grand slam as best supporting actress from all award-giving bodies). He now comes up with "Siphayo (Dismay)" for BG Productions which is very sexy and controversial as it's about a farmer (Allan Paule) and two sons (Luis Alandy and Joem Bascon) who all have an affair with the same woman (Nathalie Hart.)


"This is my most amoral movie," he says. "Hindi immoral ha, kundi amoral, magkaiba sila ng spelling. Amoral means not having a sense of what is right or wrong, unlike sa immoral na alam kung ano ang tama o mali but ginagawa pa rin. I missed doing movies like this kasi lately, puro rom-com na lang tayo. So hopefully, this will revive this kind of erotic drama para naman may alternative ang viewers natin. I did this movie right after 'Felix Manalo' at magkaibang-magkaiba sila dahil dito, walang Biblia."

Didn't he have a hard time convincing Nathalie Hart and her leading men to do the sexy scenes they did in "Siphayo"? "Siempre, noong una, hesitant siya so I had to remind her na nabasa niya ang script beforehand and she consented to do it. Noong una, nagtago pa sa CR so sabi ko, I'm not a porn director. But eventually, she did everything required of her and I was shocked kasi mahusay siya. She didn't just show skin, she showed real acting talent. She's a good actress, mahusay siya at may magandang pupuntahan ang career niya. Sa experience ko, pinakamahirap talaga sabihin sa isang artisa: 'Maghubad ka na.' Kapag ayaw, sinasabi ko lang, pag di natuloy ito, babayaran mo lahat ng gastos dito. Actually, mas mahirap paghubarin ang mga lalaki kasi may itinatago sila. Kapag di tama ang sukat, nakakahiyang ipakita. Di mo naman puedeng buhayin kasi, porno na yun. But 'Siphayo' is not porn. May malaking twist ito sa ending at doon mare-realize, ay, ganun pala. Actually, hindi lang siya sexual but also political. You'd see sa surprise sa ending. Kaya nga ang MTRCB, approved ito ng R 16 without cuts. They praised the acting, the cinematography and the film's artistic merits. In terms of form and content, puede itong ilaban sa award-winning films na nagawa ko na before."

After this, Direk Joel is back in doing a rom-com, "Never Been Touched, Never Been Kissed" with Tom Esguerra-Miho Nishida and Angeline Quinto-Jake Cuenca for Regal.

Lovi Poe Not Fazed By Fans Who Reprimand For Hurting Carla Abellana Because Of Her Torrid Love Scenes With Tom Rodriguez In 'Someone To Watch Over Me'

LOVI POE was alarmed when fans of the Tom Rodriguez-Carla Abellana love team bashed her for doing torrid love scenes with Tom in "Someone to Watch Over Me". "I got worried kasi sabi, tinotoo ko raw yung love scenes with Tom kaya awang-awa sila kay Carla," says Lovi. "Insensitive daw ako. Hindi ko raw ba naisip that as a woman, I might hurt the feelings of Tom's loved one."

To clear things about this issue, Lovi decided to write a message in her social media account: "Recently, Tom and I had a lot of good and ­negative feedbacks about how 'believable' our portrayals are in 'Someone To Watch Over Me'. It was quite upsetting that people actuall­y put so much color into it, just because we wanted to give our best in our craft.

"Some actors don't do it half-baked. Some actors don't settle for less than what is required. Simply because we owe it to our writers, directors, and our bosses who entrusted us with this project. But most especially we owe it to ourselves. An actor's job is to make every scene believable which I'm completely flattered that we have achieved despite a lot of positive and couple of violent reactions.
"But more than anything else, what I'm really thankful about as an actress and as a person who is passionate about her job is that I found in Tom someone who is equally as passionate as I am… who thankfully has a wonderful partner who has been nothing but supportive, real and such a dear friend to me. Thank you, Carla.

"Mahirap naman talaga trabaho namin, pero nasa tao talaga 'yun na hindi magpadala sa mga superficial na bagay. Work is work. REAL is different from REEL. And no apo­logies will be given… unless what I have is less than a job well done."

This week in "Someone to Watch Over Me", Tom as TJ continues to lose his memories. He even forgets his anniversary dinner with his wife. With his being forgetful getting worse, Lovi as Joanna suspects he has another woman especially when she sees him looking at the photo of Max Collins as Irene. This made Lovi terribly jealous so she leaves their home with their baby. TJ is with his friend Boy2 Quizon as Paolo but he can no longer remember his friends name. He collapses and the doctor thinks he is having a stroke.

Misters of Filipinas 2016 winners: Police officer wins one of the titles

Misters of Filipinas 2016 pageant was held last night at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre in Resorts World Manila. Among winners include a "gwapulis" (a coined word for "gwapong pulis") from the Cordillera.

Just like Neil Perez (Mister International Philippines 2014 and Mister International 2014-15) and Don Mcgyver Cochico (Misters of Filipinas 2015 1st Runner Up), Christopher "Chriz" Dulagan is also a police officer who's serving at Cordillera and he is now one of the title winners at Misters of Filipinas 2016. He won the Man of the World title.

Soon-to-be police Issa Janda on one hand was proclaimed Man of the Year.

The highest title Mister International Philippines however went to Miguel Marie Guia from San Pablo City, Laguna.

Misters of Filipinas 2016 winner is Miguel Guia

Misters of Filipinas 2016 was held on September 18 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila. Twenty-seven good-looking contestants vied for the title and the chance to represent the country in the Mister International pageant this year.

It was Miguel Mari Guia of San Pablo City that won the crown, besting twenty-six other contestants from all over the country. Standing 5'11", the 26-year-old was one of the early favorites, winning a number of special awards during the pre-pageant and the pageant night itself.

Mercado–Richards Korean Drama Remake Put on Hold to Give Way to Richards–Mendoza Teleserye

Sometime ago, GMA broached the idea of remaking the hit Korean drama, 'My Love from the Star.' The lead roles of Cheon Song-yi would be played by Ultimate Star, Jennylyn Mercado, and Do Min-joon would be given to Alden Richards.

Barely having any formal announcement, bashers started lambasting the alleged decision to pair off Mercado and Richards. Unfortunately, Mercado became the target of some overzealous fanatics who insisted on Richards being exclusive to his Kalyeserye partner, Maine Mendoza. Fans demanded that Richards should have a teleserye with Mendoza first before being partnered with any other female star. Thus, fans have spoken, the network listened, and Richards was dropped from the project.

At this point, the network could not find a suitable actor who could play the demands of the role of Do Min-joon, the alien who is nearly perfect as a human being. Allegedly, the rival network was asked if the station could 'borrow' Matteo Guidicelli. Of course, the Kapamilya network would not hear of such idea.

Although the name of GMA's Ken Chan has emerged as among possible choices, the project has to be shelved for the meantime. As for Richards and Mendoza, the network and APT are cooking up their teleserye. This project is being tagged as the reason for the sudden ending of their Kalyeserye.
