Aura Azarcon gets the 2nd Lucky House #PBB2ndLuckyHouse

After 2 days of text votes, Aura Azarcon was named the owner of the 2nd Lucky House in the regular edition of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7. The result of the text poll was announced on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

Aura got 51.16% of the text votes, beating Cora Waddell who got 26.79% and Jerome Alacre who only got 22.05%.

Getting a lucky house meant that Aura is also now a part of the Dream Team, along with Tanner Mata who got the 1st Lucky House.

The Dream Team is composed of the top 3 housemates from all the editions in the current season of Pinoy Big Brother - celebrity, teen and regular.

Meanwhile, Cora Waddell and Jerome Alacre has been told by Big Brother that they are not yet going out of the PBB house. Just like Wil Dasovich and Baninay Bautista who got "evicted" on Monday, Cora and Jerome will be put in a secret place where they will undergo a series of challenges to prove that they are worthy to own the 3rd Lucky House.

However, it will not only be based on the challenges, because the Lucky 7 Teens - Edward, Kisses, Maymay, Yong, Christian, Marco and Vivoree - will play a big role in choosing who will have the right to own the 3rd Lucky House.

The cast including those who will portray the sang'gres or keepers of the four gems were revealed on April 4, 2016. Kylie Padilla played the role of Amihan, Alena by Gabbi Garcia, Danaya by Sanya Lopez and Pirena by Glaiza de Castro.

It is based from the hit sineserye produced by the same network, Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit which stars Carla Abellana, Mike Tan and Michelle Madrigal.

Encantadia is a vast and magical continent in an "unnamed", enchanted realm. It comprises three kingdoms: Lireo, Sapiro and Hathoria. These three kingdoms, and the Lirean territory, Adamya, bear the four elemental gems that hold the continent in balance. Lireo, in the east, is the kingdom that cared for the gemstones of air and water, with its territory, Adamya. Sapiro, the northern kingdom, kept the gemstone of earth and had its lands blessed with precious metals and stones, and its soil fertile unlike any other land. Hathoria, the kingdom of the west, held the gemstone of fire and utilized it for the development of weapons and war machinery.

The three kingdoms were able to live in peace, but day came when the Hathors (inhabitants of Hathoria) gave in to their greed and started a war to claim the other gems, that they may gain power and rule over the whole continent. The Hathors first waged war with the Sapiro, in pursuit of the gemstone of earth. The Sapiryan king, King Armeo, before Sapiro's fall, was able to kill the Hathor king and claim the gemstone of fire. Sapiro, after the war, was left in ruins. While the death of the Hathor king, and the loss of the gemstone of fire, weakened the Hathor force and made them retreat. King Armeo gave the gemstone of fire and earth to his older cousin, Raquim, and willed that the gemstones be given to Ynang Reyna of Lireo for safekeeping. The four gems have not been separated since.

Years have passed and the story unfolds in Lireo, where Ynang Reyna, Minea, will choose her successor from her daughters Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya. She and Imaw, an elder from Adamya, can feel imminent danger lurking, and as the gods call her to Devas, she has to leave the kingdom of Lireo in good and capable hands. She put her daughters to the test to see their capabilities and know who is best fit to be the next queen. Minea chooses and crowns Amihan, which to Pirena's dismay, led to her rebellion. The chain of events that transpired made way for the separation of the gemstones. Pirena, after having stolen the gemstone of fire sided with the Hathors and gave them back the power they've lost. Hathor now plans to rise up from hiding and bring Lireo to its demise, with the end in view of ruling over the whole of Encantadia.

A Big Setback In 2016 For Kris Aquino And Other Stories

KRIS AQUINO suffered a big setback this year. When her contract with ABS-CBN ended, she herself admitted she over estimated her worth, tried to bargain by threatening to move elsewhere. She ended up getting a new manager, Mr. Tony Tuviera who heads Triple A Management. There were talks she'd be given a new morning show on GMA-7 but Mr. Tuviera's partner is said to have disapproved of this and it didn't happen. As of now, she can be seen on digital media through Youtube or Facebook. To recover lost ground, there was a much publicized interview of her with Pres. Duterte, but Digong didn't show up and she was quite embarrassed for being stood up.


Andi Eigenmann asserted then that Albie Casino is the father of her daughter Ellie, but her half sister
Maxine Eigenmann revealed in an interview that it's really Jake Ejercito who sired Ellie. Jake admitted he learned about it more than a year ago after a DNA test proved he's really Ellie's dad. He will now fight for legal visitation rights.










Mark Anthony Fernandez hit the headlines when he was apprehended and arrested in Angeles City for having a kilo of marijuana in his car. He's still in prison up to now.


Other stories this year: Prince Estefan came out of the closet and but this did not help his movie as a macho gay, "Working Beks", at the tills. Ai Ai de las Alas was honored with the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Papal Award for distinguished service to the church. Claudine Barretto was on the warpath once again after her son Santino got hurt while with his dad Raymart Santiago.

Several stars made a comeback: Aga Muhlach as a judge in "Pinoy Boyband Superstar", Charo Santos in "Ang Babaeng Humayo", Eugene Domingo in "Babae sa Septic Tank 2", Donna Cruz with a new album for Star Music. Many actors were reported to have sex videos: Joross Gamboa, Mark Neumann, Jeric Gonzales, Carlos Morales, Andrew Wolff, Jason Abalos, Ronnie Alonte.

As usual, stars clashed with each other, notably Vivian Velez vs. Cristine Reyes on the set of the soap "Tubig at Langis". Vivian's character had to be killed.

TV5 Pres. Noel Lorenzana tied up with Viva TV but all the shows they produced like "Ang Panday", "Tasha Fantasia", "Bakit Manipis ang Ulap" and "Born to be a Star" failed to rate. He resigned and Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes took over. TV5 stopped producing local shows this year and went into telecasting Hollywood canned shows dubbed in Tagalog.

People ask us which would we choose as the year's best films and best performances. Our choice is the searing drama about teenage street kids who searches for their kidnapped newborn baby in "Pamilya Ordinaryo". It affected us in a way that no other film affected us this year. There are many good female performances this year from Jaclyn Jose in the drama "Ma Rosa" and the comedy "Patay na si Hesus", Charo Santos in "Babaeng Humayo" to Vilma Santos in "Everything About Her" and Barbie Forteza in "Tuos" and "Laut". For best actor, we like Sandino Martin in "The Dog Shooter" and Ronwaldo Martin in "Pamilya Ordinaryo" but Paolo Ballesteros in "Die Beautiful" towers over them.

So that was the year that was. Here's hoping 2017 will be a better, brighter one for all of us.

Seklusyon Movie Review: Not The Usual Horror Movie With Jolts And Jump Scares That Most Viewers Love

 HORROR FILMS are always a big hit in the annual Metro Manila Filmfest, as evidenced by the hugely successful franchise that is "Shake Rattle & Roll" which has 15 movies to its credit. We never doubted "Seklusyon" will do well at the box office in the current festival since it's the only horror entry, but it could have earned more if it were not rated R-13. Last year, "Haunted Mansion" had no name stars but new teen actors only in the cast, but raked in P150 million because they got a PG rating where kids are allowed to watch.

"Seklusyon" is not the usual horror flick that local viewers expect to watch. As we were going out of the theater, we heard some moviegoers saying: "Ano ba yun? Hindi man lang ako natakot." And it's true. It has no jump scares that jolt viewers and make them scream. But its material is actually darker and more malevolent than most horror flicks.

It is more akin to such horror classics as "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Omen" (and its sequels) where it is shown that good is defeated and evil triumphs. In this sense, the film's conclusion and final message is indeed more horrifying than the usual scary movie.

Set after the Second World War in 1947, "Seklusyon" refers to the way four young deacons are secluded and isolated from the world around them one week before they are ordained as priests when it's believed that the devil is at his most powerful. They must overcome all the strong temptations to be posed to them by the devil and spend their days in prayer and silence. The deacons are played by total newcomers Ronnie Alonte, Johnvic de Guzman and JR Versales, and one who has done many movies and TV shows before, Dominic Roque.

What the deacons don't know is that the devil, who comes in many forms and incarnations and appears in the most unexpected places, is right inside with them in the supposed sanctuary where they are confined in seclusion. This is 9-year old child star Rhed Bustamante (TV's "Flor de Liza") as Anghela, a child healer who is brought there by her guardian, Sister Cecilia (Phoebe Walker), who herself harbors a big dark secret.

The phenomenon of the child healer is being investigated by a well-intentioned priest, Fr. Ricardo (Neil Ryan Sese), upon the instructions of the bishop (Jerry O'Hara). Feeling concerned about the safety and welfare of the child, he instead discovers something diabolical about the true nature of Anghela and Sister Cecilia. But even he is not enough to stop the devil in its deadly tracks.

A passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew is quoted: "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." This surely applies today when so many evangelists and pretenders preaching a religion of financial abundance, and not true unadulterated spirituality, have attracted so many followers so willing to be manipulated in the name of material prosperity.

The four deacons are confronted by guilt feelings from past sins and personal demons from their own lives, like Ronnie as Miguel who has left his pregnant girlfriend (Elora Espano) and who now appears to him as the Blessed Virgin. Johnvic as Marco seems to be attracted to young children and is a pedophile priest in the making.

JR Versales is haunted by ghosts of his two brothers who died of starvation during the war. Dominique makes violent love to Sister Cecilia. In the end, when three of them are ordained to become full priest, we shudder at the thought of the dark deeds they'll commit while ostensibly serving the flock. We all know of the so many abuses church people have done these days, from sexual perversion to corruption.

The film's period production design is believable and it's quite understandable that it is set in darkness most of the time as the material is really very dark and sinister. The film's overall gloomy look, eerie texture is accented with moody atmospheric lighting in sepia tones by cinematographer Neil Bion. This is well and good since the acting of the four main actors leave much to be desired, especially the main protagonist, Hashtag dancer Ronnie Alonte, whose kind of emoting seems quite constipated most of the time.

Devout Catholics will surely be disturbed by the blasphemous vilifications of religious icons, like the Sto. Nino and the Blessed Virgin. Members of the clergy who'd watch this will understandably be offended for the artistic license they took in these off-putting scenes and the fact that it offers no redemption among the three young priests who will only sow mayhem and havoc as delinquent shepherds of their respective flock.

The best acting in the movie is delivered by child star Rhed Bustamante as the creepy healing angel who's actually the devil in disguise, spewing black blood perfect for dinuguan. She really runs circles around her older co-stars, giving a very convincing performance in the scenes where she tries to persuade the deacons to join her cause. Her aim is to create a world where people can no longer tell the difference between good and bad. And don't you feel that this is exactly what is happening to us right now?

PBB Lucky Season 7 - Baninay and Wil get the lowest votes #PBBbagongsimula

Baninay Bautista and Wil Dasovich got the lowest percentage of text votes from among the remaining adult housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7 which were all put in the list of nominees for eviction following Tanner Mata's winning the 1st Lucky House.

Baninay and Wil said goodbye to the other housemates on Monday night, January 2, 2017, who thought they would already be leaving the PBB house. Little did everyone know that the two would only be taken to a secret room in the house.

Baninay got the lowest percentage with only 6.36%. Wil followed with 7.95%.

Cora Waddell, Aura Azarcon and Jerome Alecre were named safe. One of them got the highest 45.84%, followed by 21.37% and 18.46%.

The three will still have the chance to get the 2nd Lucky House, depending on who the viewers will vote for. The voting lines were re-opened towards the end of the Monday night episode.

The one that will get the highest percentage of text votes when the voting lines are put to close on Tuesday night will get the 2nd Lucky House. The two that will not make it will join Wil and Baninay in a secret area in the house where their determination to get the 3rd Lucky House will be tested.

The new Saksi launched in November 10, 2014 with new upbeat soundtracks, its newly flat graphic package, and its new title card starts to continue using the camera lens background.
