ENRICO CUENCA is a balikbayan from Los Angeles, California who got his big break in showbiz when he was paired with Ash Ortega in a fast food TV commercial. Because of that, they were also paired in GMA-7's primetime series, 'Super Ma'am", and now, also in the OctoArts-T Rex co-production, "Spirit of the Glass 2, The Haunted".
Enrico is originally from Pampanga. His family moved to the States when he was 12 years old and he finished high school and college in California. He majored in management and his minor is theatre arts. He hasn't been back in Manila for sometime so he came home for rest and relaxation.
While on vacation here, his aunt presented him to talent manager Jonas Gaffud. Now, he's being managed by Jonas' Mercator Agency. After doing the TV commercial that made people notice him, he guested in GMA shows like "Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko" and "Wagas". He is also in the Regal movie, "Recipe for Love", starring Christian Bables and Cora Waddell. Both 'Spirit of the Glass 2" and "Recipe for Love" are directed by Jose Javier Reyes.
"I feel so lucky to have all these good projects," he says. "Sometimes, kinukurot ko ang sarili ko to make sure that all this is real. I feel so honored to be part of a teleserye like 'Super Ma'am' and to be doing movies like 'Spirit of the Glass 2' and 'Recipe for Love'. I really want to thank all those who support me."
So at this point, what's the score between him and his ka-love team, Ash Ortega? "Ash knows I'm a newcomer and she's been very helpful. I'm learning a lot from her kasi almost all my scenes are with her and she's always there to help guide me. We've become the best of friends kasi we're both December born and we're both dog lovers. So we're hoping the public will support our tandem on TV and the movies the way they supported our TV commercial. Right now, we're really enjoying working with each other."
