"Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester, the newest international endorser of local clothing brand "Penshoppe" is now in Manila, for a series of Penshoppe endorsement engagements and also to participate in the Philippine Fashion Week event.
Meester, who arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Friday, is expected to make an appearance at Penshoppe's runway show titled "Impact" tonight at the SMX Hall in SM Mall of Asia.
Meester is the latest addition to the “All Stars” campaign of Peshoppe which includes her “Gossip Girl” co-star Ed Westwick, Hollywood actor Zac Efron, Ian Somerhalder of “The Vampire Diaries," and Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer.

Twenty-five films have been announced as the official entries to this year's Cinemalaya Festival.
The Cinemalaya Foundation and the Cultural Center of the Philippines on Friday announced the entries to each of the three categories the 2012 Cinemalaya Festival: the New Breed Full Length Feature category, the New Breed Short Film category, and the Director's Showcase category.

Each of the 25 films were provided a seed grant of P500,000 by the Cinemalaya Foundation, and were monitored to guide "the new filmmaker to meet professional standards set by Cinemalaya in the financial, artistic and technical aspects of filmmaking, particularly casting decisions."
Of the foundation's involvement in the production of its film entries, Cinemalaya Foundation Chairman Tonyboy Cojuangco said it is careful to strike a balance between "the foundation's desire to catch potential technical and artistic flaws and the new filmmaker's passion to make bold decisions."
"Keeping this delicate balance, we believe, has been the strength of Cinemalaya as it continues to produce films that are daring in its storytelling yet cognizant of industry standards," Cojuangco said.
Now on its 8th year, the Cinemalaya Festival will premiere the 25 film entries starting July 20-29 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Ayala Cinemas in Greenbelt Makati and Trinoma Quezon City.

Grace on being single: I haven’t given it much thought
Asked how it feels to be single, Grace replied, “I haven’t really given it much thought yet.”
Grace looked poised and calm as she watched the models sashay down the ramp at a fashion show for Philippine Fashion Week at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia.
“I’m good. I’m happy,” she added with a smile.
Grace appreciates the President’s sensitivity to her feelings when he answered questions on the status of their relationship.
“From the very beginning till very recently, any comment he has made about his private life is for me,” she reveals. “He’s always been a gentleman. I really appreciate na he always tries to protect me. It really shows the kind of man that he is -- how he has stepped out of his comfort zone to talk about his private life for me,” she stressed.
This is the first time Grace talked about the President again after keeping mum on reports early this month that they have stopped dating.

Another premium creation of the GMA Entertainment TV Group, PROTÉGÉ: The Battle for the Big ARTISTA Break aims to discover fresh and promising talents all over the archipelago who will soon become the network's next batch of television sensations.
The competition is open to all male and female Filipinos, 13-21 years old, with a unique and striking personality, compelling story to tell, immense likeability factor, and with "artista" looks. Filipinos who are born and/or currently residing abroad are also encouraged to join the artista search provided they must go to the key venues on the respective audition dates with the complete requirements.

As previously reported here (please read related news HERE), Anne Curtis temporarily bids "Its Showtime" goodbye.
“Mawawala po ako for one month. I’ll be back, I promise. My Showtime family, mami-miss ko kayong lahat. Mami-miss ko kayong lahat, even the madlang pipol.
"Gusto ko lang po magpasalamat sa Showtime family [ko] for believing in me and allowing me to pursue my dreams. To ABS-CBN for allowing me to take this leave. Thank you all of you for understanding." the teary-eyed Anne announced.
The show has been the home to Anne for almost three years now, but the performer-actress decided to go on a one month leave to pursue another milestone for her career - a Hollywood crime thriller film titled "Blood Ransom".
The movie will be produced by Tectonic Films (the same movie outfit who made "Subject: I Love You" which starred Jericho Rosales) and will be directed by Fil-Am Francis de la Torre. Anne will be the only Filipino in the film, which will star an all-American cast.

Here is the full video, released by TV5 from unknown source, that might put an end to an argument about who truly started the brawl between journalist Mon Tulfo and Claudine Barretto, Raymart Santiago and a certain guy in pink shirt which allegedly belongs to the actor's camp on May 6 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
The video, reportedly taken before the fight, shows a man in a pink shirt beside Claudine and Raymart hitting Tulfo in the head with his left hand while the three well-known personalities are talking - a scene that entails Tulfo was not the one who started the fight nor kicked the actress in the legs as what they claimed.
