PAGEANT: Donald Trump Calls Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega 'Hypocrite' After Her Statement

USA - Miss Universe 2014 winner Paulina Vega of Colombia was slammed by Miss Universe Organization owner Donald Trump after the beauty queen's statement over the latter's harsh comments against Mexicans.

Paulina Vega released her statement, stating: "I find Mr. Trump’s comments unjust and hurtful. As a Colombian and as Miss Universe, I want to show my support and validate the sentiments of the Latin community.

The Miss Universe Organization works independently from its owners. For the past 64 years, they have created partnerships with great charity groups and have helped thousands of communities.

Their legacy of uniting countries from around the world has been inspiring to many. If the Miss Universe Organization shared any anti-Latin sentiments or any type of racial biases, I wouldn’t be in this position today.

I strongly believe that dividing and categorizing humankind only holds it back. Acknowledging and embracing the differences that exist across humanity is the first step in real and substantial development. We must strive together in order to improve the common good."

The statement made by Paulina Vega sparked a counter reaction from Donald Trump himself through his Twitter account stating: "Miss Universe, Paulina Vega, criticized me for telling the truth about illegal immigration, but then said she would keep the crown - Hypocrite!"

In related news, since Mexico's national director and Miss Universe 1991 winner Lupita Jones announced that they won't be sending their delegate to the upcoming 2015 pageant, countries like El Salvador, Costa Rica and Bolivia also withdrew from the pageant to contest the racial comments made by Donald Trump.

Why “The Breakup Playlist” is a Must-See Film, According to Movie Reviewers.

Star Cinema’s latest movie “The Breakup Playlist” earned not just P15 million on its first showing day but also favorable reviews from critics.

Oggs Cruz of Rappler says “’The Breakup Playlist’ has its heart and soul in all the right places.”
He adds, “’The Breakup Playlist’” is one fascinating experiment, hiding in the garb of a traditionally crafted romance… The film has humor, but of a kind that is different from most romantic comedies. The jokes are less situational, and more grounded on the personalities of the characters and the subculture they exist within.”

Meanwhile, Rito Asilo of Inquirer believes that “The Breakup Playlist” has the perfect lead stars and a very relatable plot.

“'The Breakup Playlist,' starring the appropriately cast Piolo Pascual and Sarah Geronimo, transports you back to vulnerable moments in your life when your stubborn heart refused to listen to what your mind was saying,” says Rito.

Film critic Philbert Dy of Clickthecity.com notes the undeniable the chemistry between Piolo and Sarah’s characters.

“The early scenes of Gino pursuing Trixie are pretty charming, and this turns into something more substantial as the characters get into the palpable chemistry that comes with singing together,” he says.

According to the entertainment site LionhearTV writes “the film is difficult to not fall in love with.”

“’The Breakup Playlist’ sings a sad melody, and takes beautiful runs and bends, that would surely make hearts melt,” it notes. “Seemingly singing the very same songs telling their characters’ own love story, are two incredibly capable actors, who manage to deliver their roles with utmost believability.”

Rodmagaru.com, on the other hand, shares how the “movie is precise and brave to introduce a different Sarah Geronimo and Piolo Pascual— to tackle real talk and to discuss real issues about relationships.”

It also says that Piolo and Sarah deserve to get acting nominations.
“Sarah Geronimo is delivering a coming of age performance in this movie. Flawless acting. I havent seen her determined as this,” it adds.

Supermorgy.com describes “The Breakup Playlist” as a “simple yet insightful film about love, career, family, forgiveness and second chances” and gives a thumbs up for Sarah’s convincing portrayal of her role and notes Piolo’s ability to create chemistry to any actress he works with.

“Sarah Geronimo is simply the next megastar! Pure, Exquisite, Sparkling and Versatile! No other artist can be so real when it comes to being giddy and happy,” it enthuses. “I also need to commend him (Piolo) for his outstanding and refined delivery of a character who was feeling down and a failure.”

Lastly, wazzup.ph enumerated seven things that makes “The Breakup Playlist” a must-see.

“The Breakup Playlist” focuses on law student and aspiring musician Trixie David (Sarah), who gets invited by famous rock star Gino Avila (Piolo) to join his band. Their love story is chronicled through the songs they wrote, sang, and listened to in the process.

“The Breakup Playlist” was written by Antoinette Jadaone (director of “That Thing Called Tadhana,” “Relaks, It’s Just Pag-ibig”).

Showing in 220 cinemas nationwide, the movie is directed by Dan Villegas and produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films.

Review: "Terminator Genysys" - A Reboot That Breaks A Lot Of Rules

"TERMINATOR GENESYS" is the fifth movie in the franchise that started in 1984 with "The Terminator", followed by "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" in 1991, "Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines" in 2003 and "Terminator Salvation" in 2009. It also spawned a TV series in 2008,
"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles". James Cameron's original movie (this really boosted his career and he went on to do "Titanic" and "Avatar") is a perfect blend of action, time travel with liberal touches of humor and has withstood the test of time. Its sequels were not as good, especially "Salvation" directed by McG, with Christian Bale as John Connor, that was really a big disappointment.

The central conflict in the franchise is that machines have overtaken the world because of a synthetic intelligence called Skynet and the human race is nearly extinct and is battling for survival through the Resistance. They're still at it in "Terminator Genesys". Don't ask too many questions about the time-traveling elements as they tend to create more questions than answers. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

John Connor (Jason Clarke, "Zero Dark Thirty") sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney, "Divergent") from 2029 once again to the past in 1984 to save Sarah (Emilia Clarke, who's the Dragon Queen Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones"), who will be John's mother. John has to be born because he'll be the leader of the Resistance. He doesn't tell Kyle that he is meant to be his father.

The big difference now is that Sarah is so attached to the killer robot Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who she called Pops because he took care of her since she was 9 years old. You might find it hard to suspend your disbelief but the time line has also been altered as Cyberdine, the company of Skynet, is about to launch Genesys, a program that will prove to be disastrous to humans if it's not obliterated by our heroes. There's another big twist that seriously messes up the plot, but we won't reveal it here as it will be a truly massive spoiler. Hint: you'll get to see the weirdest family reunion ever seen on screen. As one character quips: "How'd you end up in 2017?"

It's enough to say that as far as eye-popping special effects (we saw this in IMAX 3D) are concerned, you won't get disappointed. There are massive car chases, gun battles and a very amusing scene where Arnold S fights himself. One is Arnold as he is now ("old but not obsolete", he says), the other a very young Arnold. And in all fairness to Arnold, he brings the same kind of humorous portrayal that made him a perfect killer robot, from the opening sequence up to the ending.
