"Happy Truck Ng Bayan" Gives Away Huge Cash Prize to Lucky Contestant


A month after its pilot episode, TV5’s “happiness-on-wheels” Sunday noontime program ‘Happy Truck Ng Bayan’ is still non-stop when it comes to spreading cheer and happiness all over the country. Just last Sunday (July 12), another contestant bagged the jackpot prize.

Aldrin Santos of Commonwealth, Quezon City brought home his total winnings of P225,000.

Before moving up to the “Kwartruck” segment, Aldrin was hailed “Barangay Most Wanted” after outwinning 150 of his neighbors.




Instrumental to Aldrin’s success is Happy Truck Ng Bayan’s resident hunk actor Derek Ramsay who led him to the lucky capsule containing the jackpot prize. Since Derek “feels responsible” for the fate of Aldrin and his wife after the contestants followed his advice in which capsule to pick, Derek joined Aldrin and his wife inside the capsule, so that whatever falls on the couple falls on him too. But to everyone’s surprise, it turns out the jackpot was right there all along!

Avid fans of the program note that Derek has been quite lucky when it comes to guessing and picking the right capsules containing the jackpot prize. During the pilot episode of Happy Truck Ng Bayan, Derek pointed to Gelli De Belen’s capsule and true enough, it had the jackpot. Unfortunately, the contestant didn’t follow his advice. The first jackpot winner, Prince from San Juan City, ended up choosing Derek’s capsule, which also led him to the grand prize.

Meanwhile, hunky construction workers packed with wit and talent take the spotlight as “Happy Truck Ng Bayan” launched its newest hit segment: “O.C.W. (Ooooh Construction Worker!)”

The personality search became an instant hit both among audiences at the barangays and among netizens.




“O.C.W.” made a buzz online as the hunky construction workers showcased their sexy grooves and proved that they're more than right for the job.

'Fantastic Four' new trailer released (VIDEO)

A new official trailer has been released by 20th Century Fox for "Fantastic Four." Directed by Josh Trank, the movie opens August 5, 2015 (Philippines).

The movie stars Jamie Bell as The Thing, Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Invisible Woman and Michael B. Jordan as Human Torch.

The movie is a stand alone and contemporary re-imagining of the superhero team created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1961. It introduces an origins story of the four friends whose journey to an alternative universe altered their physical forms, giving them unmatched strength and abilities.

Boy Abunda disagrees with Rhap Salazar, advices him to review his brand essence

Boy Abunda had a message for singer Rhap Salazar during the Monday episode of "Aquino & Abunda Tonight."

Rhap's tweet regarding celebrities that lip sync became very controversial earlier this month.

"I hate seeing artists lip-syncing on TV," he posted on his Twitter account on Sunday, July 5, 2015. He followed it up with another post saying, "Yung iba nagkaka-album pa."

Many thought he was referring to James Reid and Nadine Lustre because the love team sang on "ASAP 20" and were given awards for their albums which recently turned gold.

Rhap denied it, though, saying that "those tweets are not for JaDine. Yung ibang tao kasi nag-mention agad na sila yun. Pero hindi naman talaga. Hope everything's clear now."

Boy said that he respects the opinion of the "Little Big Star" winner, but he disagrees with him.

"Rhap, alam mo, even the best artists, even the most brilliant singers have to lip-sync depending on the circumstance," Boy said. "It’s technical issue sometimes, mikropono ba ito, venue ba ito, sometimes it’s even a health issue. Hindi makakakanta but the artist is forced to be in a certain event. So, it’s not… It’s not evil. It’s not bad. It’s not treachery. Hindi pandaraya ang pag-lip-sync. Kailangan ito sa ilang pagkakataon," he said.

He also commented on Rhap's use of the word hate.

"I want to remind Rhap that if you have the freedom to hate artists who lip-sync, you also have the freedom not to watch them, switch off, huwag mong panoorin, walang pumipilit sa ’yo," he said.

As a talent manager, he also gave a career advice to Rhap.

"My advice as a manager, Rhap, is this: Instead of hating, instead of disliking itong mga non-singers who are making it as singers, panoorin mo sila. Discover what makes them tick. I mean, review your brand essence, your equity, ano ba ang ginagawa nilang tama na hindi mo ginagawa? Because with your enormous talent, Rhap, I’m sure you have a place under the sun. But that’s how you make something negative positive. Isang opinyon ng isang maliit na manager na katulad ko," he said.

Rhian Ramos posted a "Twerk It Like Miley" video clip on her Instagram account on Tuesday, and it immediately became a trending topic on social media.

A few hours after the video was posted, #TwerkItLikeYoyon immediately trended on Twitter, Yoyon being Rhian's nickname.

The actress plays a lesbian in the currently ongoing series "The Rich Man's Daughter" and she seemed to be in character when she did the video.

"Ang hirap maging pogi. But someone's gotta do it," she wrote in the video's caption.

There's also a clamor for #TwerkItLikeCha (Cha being the nickname of Glaiza De Castro, Rhian's love team in the series) and we just have to wait if Glaiza will give in to the fans' request.

Alice Dixson transfers to GMA-7, joins cast of 'Marimar'

Alice Dixson will soon be seen on GMA-7 as one of the cast of the upcoming series, "Marimar."

The news was announced on Instagram on Tuesday by talent manager Popoy Caritativo by posting a photo of himself with Alice.

The caption reads: "Alice Dixson will now be seen in GMA7 as she joins the cast of MARIMAR. Coming very soon!"

The actress was previously identified with TV5.

This is the second time the Kapuso Network is doing an adaptation of the hit 1994 Mexican telenovela originally topbilled by Thalia.

The network first did a Philippine version of the said series in 2007, launching Marian Rivera as leading lady.

The upcoming adaptation will be topbilled by Megan Young as Marimar and Tom Rodriguez as Sergio Santibañez.

No word yet on Alice's role.

Vice Ganda and Coco Martin are set to star in "Beauty and the Bestie," one of the entries in the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The movie will be directed by Wenn V. Deramas who also directed Vice's MMFF entry last year, "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin," which was the festival's top-grosser.

With the two stars' box-office appeal combined, will "Beauty and the Bestie" be the most watched film this year?

During the movie's story conference that happened on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Star Cinema office, other members of the cast were introduced - Alonzo Muhlach, Marcelito Pomoy, Bugoy Drilon, Badji Mortiz and Jovit Baldivino.

Andrea Torres has no ill will towards Jennylyn Mercado and FHM

Despite ranking second, Andrea Torres didn't attend the victory party of FHM 100 Sexiest Women 2015 last Saturday, July 11, at the SMX Convention Center.

Because of that, people who noticed her absence drew speculations that she is having a hard time accepting her defeat to Jennylyn Mercado, who was hailed as this year's sexiest.

Andrea was interviewed by GMA-7's "24 Oras" but the sexy actress was not satisfied by what has been aired by the newscast, so she took to Instagram to post her full statement.

The three-part statement reads:

Hi guys! I heard that there is an issue circulating about me on the result of FHM's 100 Sexiest, and Jennylyn Mercado. Unfortunately, only a portion of my interview was aired in 24 Oras because of time constraints. So I am reaching out on social media to send my love and positive vibes. I don't want you guys getting stressed over something that doesn't even exist.

I would like to categorically state that I have no problem whatsoever with Jennylyn's victory. I even congratulated her before the event and told her that I'm sure many are anticipating her ramp appearance, so im really happy for her and everyone who made it on the list. The support I received was sufficient reward for me. It was after all, the first time I ventured into something I thought I could never do.

I can never thank my fans enough, Marian's fans, and my brothers and sisters in the entertainment industry. I am forever grateful to FHM because many of the work-related blessings I am receiving over the last few months are largely a result of my feature in the magazine. I am not in the habit of creating conflict and harboring ill will against my co-artists. We support each other. We promote each other's shows whenever we can using social media. Jen and I are together in SAS and I have a very high regard for her talents and respect her both as an artist and as an individual.

I hope this supposed "boycott" issue can be finally put to rest. There was never any disagreement between myself, Jennylyn, or any other co-artist. No one can drive a stake between Jennylyn and myself - after all, we are both a Kapuso.
