Patuloy na pinapahanga nina Piolo Pascual at Jericho Rosales ang TV viewers sa kanilang husay sa pag-arte gabi-gabi sa top-rating Primetime Bida teleserye ng ABS-CBN na "Dahil sa Pag-ibig."

Kuwento ng dalawang bidang aktor, bagama't matagal na sila sa industriya, hindi biro para sa kanila ang mga eksena ng komprontasyon at suntukan na ginawa nila sa nasabing teleserye. Ani ni Piolo, "Napagod ako kasi sobrang bigat ng mga eksena namin. Hindi biro ang karakter ng isang pari na maraming pinagdadaanan sa buhay."

Kakaibang paghahanda naman ang ginawa ni Echo para mapabuti ang kanyang pagganap bilang si Oliver. "Kinailangan ko pang mag-workout para paghandaan ang mga eksena namin. Iyon kasi talaga ang pinaka-concern ko para sa banggaan namin ni Piolo," pahayag niya.

Samantala, lalo namang umiinit ang mga tagpo sa "Dahil sa Pag-ibig" ngayong tuluyan nang nakuha ni Oliver ang loob ng kanyang mortal na kaaway na si Leo (Christopher de Leon). Magtagumpay kaya siya na sirain ang pamilya Valderama o mapipigilan pa siya sa kanyang masasamang balak ni Fr. Alfred? Paano magbabago ang buhay nina Oliver at Fr. Alfred kapag natuklasan nila na sila ay tunay na magkapatid?

Suzi Entrata Abrera Reveals Secret to Work-Life Balance


During the press conference of her new talk show on GMA News TV “MARS,” morning show host and celebrity mom Suzi Entrata Abrera revealed to the members of the press her formula for attaining a good balance between work and family life.

As a regular co-host of GMA’s weekday morning show Unang Hirit, Suzi needs to wake up as early as 3:00am from Monday to Friday. But despite her “unusual” schedule, she still puts her family as her top priority.

“[Ang family ko] naman talaga ang priority ko. Kaya hindi talaga ako nagtatrabaho ng weekend kasi sabi ko yun lang yung time na makakasama ko ang mga kids ko mula umaga hanggang gabi, unless it’s a special situation. Maaga din naman natatapos ang taping namin and so when I get home I still catch [my children] before they go to sleep.”

Suzi’s relationship with husband Paolo Abrera is also as sweet as ever. According to her, their sweetness is apparent even when they’re fighting.

“I think we fight well kasi even if nagdidiscuss kami, may iyakan and all, magka-holding hands kami [ni Paolo], may ganun pa rin kaming sweetness sa isa’t isa.”

Asked by Tita Nene Riego how she managed to put a cap on getting heavy with child after giving birth to her third child, Suzi quipped:

“Natututunan din po pala ‘yun. Alam po ng mga taga-health center kung paano po mapa-family planning. Nagkasunod-sunod nga po pero nice naman po that their ages are close to each other now that they’re growing up.”

In MARS, Suzi is going to share the floor with co-host Camille Prats, who also stars in GMA’s primetime series Luna Blanca. According to Suzi even if she lacks sleep, she has far less to complain compared to her much busier co-host.

“Actually naisip ko nung una mahirap talaga kasi ang aga talagang nag-uumpisa ang araw ko until may nakasama akong artista (referring to Camille) na pagkatapos nito may taping pa, bukas may taping ulit tapos may taping na naman kami sa Thursday, kung mejo mabigat po yung schedule sa akin, mas mabigat po yung [kay Camille].”

MARS will premiere this Monday, June 11. It airs weeknights, 6:00pm, on GMA News TV Channel 11.

John Krasinski Plays “Adam” in Ken Kwapis’ Big Miracle


John Krasinski, best known to American audiences as Jim Halpert on the hit television show The Office. In Universal’ Pictures ‘Big Mircle he plays Adam Carlson a television reporter who lived in the city at that time, but as an amalgam of small-town news people who served to tell the human elements of the story.

Even though signing on would mean multiple trips between the set of his television series and Anchorage, Krasinski believed it was worth it to work again with director Ken Kwapis. The filmmaker had directed him in License to Wed, as well as many pivotal episodes of The Office. “Ken is a phenomenal person,” commends Krasinski. “He did the pilot of our show and many of the important episodes, including the first time I said ‘I love you’ to Pam. He’s been there emotionally in a lot of stages of my life as an actor, as well as a person growing up in front of the camera. He has that rare gift to be not only in tune with you but also with the whole movie.”
The producers were pleased to bring him onto the production as a character who would discover the story and be at the center of the story’s romantic triangle.

When Barrymore heard that Krasinski was a candidate to play Adam, she advocated bringing him onto Big Miracle. “I remember calling Ken from the San Francisco airport,” she says. “I was screaming down the hallway that I’d do anything to do this movie with him. He was perfect for the role, as he is wholesome, funny and a good guy, just like Adam. Even though the film is rooted in the environmental and political aspects of the whale rescue, there is also a love triangle that had to work among me.”

This is a big change for you from The Office.

Definitely. For a while there, Ken Kwapis (director) and I were doing both at the same time. It was pretty wild. For the first month or so that we were shooting, I was going back and forth from The Office to this. It's awesome and it's so fantastic to have the opportunity to do a movie like this that has such a beautifully epic story. It is moving. I was hooked on the idea of the true story.

When you're reading the script, there are moments where you say to yourself, “Oh, come on! This is so over the top and not real!” Then you find out it's exactly what happened. Especially the story of the Colonel getting married to Kelly. I'm just psyched to be up here. This is my first time being on a big, crazy location.

How are you dealing with the cold?

Pretty well. That's my Boston blood in me coming back. It got pretty diluted in LA. My brothers make fun of me when I go home to Boston and when it’s around 60 degrees I'm like, “Ooh... It's getting cold.” They think I'm completely ridiculous but it's finally coming back and I'm starting to get the feeling in my hands again.

Can you talk about your character?

I play Adam Carlson, a local news reporter. He’s been sent up here to Barrow, Alaska by the Anchorage news station that he works for to cover several different stories. He would love to get back to a major news station elsewhere. Then he happens upon these whales that are trapped in the ice. Adam is the first person to cover the story and it's Adam's story that gets picked up by the national news. So, he's the reason everybody's here. A lot of my scenes happen once the national news services come to Alaska. Adam is pretty overwhelmed and trying to get his foot in the door with anyone of these people that will listen to him. For me, it was a whole thing about the media frenzy that went on.

Did you get to meet the real Adam Carlson?

Adam is actually a hybrid of a couple of different people. I didn't get a chance to meet one person because there wasn't really that one person. Drew Barrymore (plays Rachel) met the person whose character she portrayed, Cindy, the real Rachel. Cindy is a phenomenal lady and she gave Drew all this great material to work with.

How did you prepare?

Because my character is a news reporter, I basically looked at all the news footage that happened at the time. Having read the book, you see that it did become a huge media frenzy. It's both incredible and a little ridiculous that so much media power can be focused on one place, at one time. It's also incredibly inspiring. It gives you the idea that we could potentially be doing more with where we're focusing the media these days. That's kind of where I was going with my character.

Can you talk about working with Drew Barrymore?

Drew is phenomenal. She has so much experience and is still so young. She's had so many experiences and learned so much about the business in such a short amount of time. Drew is such a pro. She knows exactly what she's doing. She is prepared and, on top of all that, is able to have fun. Off set, we get along great. She's fantastic and as the lead of the film, you couldn’t’ have anyone better. Her spirit as an actor and her deep belief in all her causes are huge to have on set. And the love story with Drew is really fun. Come on. It's Drew Barrymore.

Can you talk about your favorite scenes?

So far, one of my favorite scenes is the big emotional climax of the movie, when the whales start to move. When you read the script, you hope there's an emotional impact on screen. Those scenes are fun to shoot because you get to see the weight of the movie actually coming together. When you're doing a lot of scenes, and they're kind of scattered, it's hard to keep a barometer of what's going on in the movie. When we did that scene, you realize what kind of movie it is and it's a really good check in point.

How is it working with director Ken Kwapis?

I have worked with Ken on The Office. He put me in LICENSE TO WED and in this film. I think he still to this day is one of the best directors I've ever worked with. He's incredible with actors and with grasping on to emotional strengths.

What do you make of the anima-tronic whales?

I was genuinely frightened when I first came to the set. When you first look at them, you get the sense that you're going to fall into a tank, like if you go to SeaWorld or the zoo. They're unbelievably realistic. The guys running them are unreal. They are so incredibly talented, designing these things and then the way they move them. It's like a video gamers dream come true. They have these huge joysticks. I'm jealous.

Giant Squid Killed by Shark in Australia Photo and Video


A rare giant squid being eaten by an 8-foot shark off the Australian coast has been caught on video and spread around the Web today.

The squid measures nearly 10 feet as it is filmed floating alongside a fishing boat, where a columnist from Australia’s Daily Telegraph spotted it.

The bright red squid had already been partially eaten, likely by its only known predator, a sperm whale, according to columnist Al McGlashan.

“It must have died not that long before we found it because it didn’t smell at all and its colors were still strong – most giant squid remains are smelly and rotten and just off-white by the time someone finds them,” McGlashan said in the newspaper.

The video of the encounter shows a blue shark swimming up and taking a bite out of the side of the squid as it lingers next to the boat.

Matapos magpahinga ni Jodi sa paggawa ng serye ay muli na naman siyang makikita sa primetime kasama ang aktor na nakilala bilang Papa Chen. Nagpapasalamat pareho sina Jodi Santamaria at Richard Yap sa proyektong ipinagkatiwala sa kanila ng Kapamilya network. Si Richard ang magsisilbing leading man ni Jodi sa naturang serye. Iikot ang istorya ng bagong programa sa dalawang taong nagmamahalan na kabilang sa magkaibang mundo. Hindi naman daw mawawala rito ang pagdiskubre ng mga karakter sa teleserye ng kanilang pagmamahalan. Ikinumpara ni Jodi Santamaria ang kuwento sa isang modern fairy tale. Ang magiging karakter ni Jodi Santamaria sa teleserye ay isang babaeng lumaki sa probinsya. Makikipagsapalaran naman sa Manila ang karakter ng aktres  hanggang magkakakilala sila ng karakter ni Richard Yap. Dito na umano magsisimula ang mga interisadong pangyayari sa pagitan nina Jodi at Richard.

Hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin makapaniwala ang negosyanteng si Richard Yap sa mga ibinibigay na malalaking teleserye sa kaniya ng Kapamilya network. Matapos ang kauna-unahan niyang serye ay nasundan pa ito ng mas malalaking proyekto katulad ng Walang Hanggan. Bilang baguhang aktor ay gagawin umano ni Richard ang kaniyang makakaya para patunayan sa ABS-CBN na karapat-dapat siya sa naturang role. Sa unang pagpasok pa lang ni Richard Yap sa showbiz ay nabigyan na siya ng pagkakataon na makatrabaho ang malalaki at magagaling na artista ng industriya. Excited na rin daw siya na makatrabaho si Jodi Santamaria na kaniyang magiging leading lady.

Samantalang ang aktres naman ay tila masayang-masaya na sa kaniyang kasalukuyang estado. Kamakailan lang ay napabalita na kahit hiwalay na sila ng asawa ay naging magkaibigan na sila nito. Makakalaban ni Pacman ang Amerikanong si Timothy Bradley sa Las Vegas. Kinumpirma ng Top Rank Entertainment na aawitin ni Jessica ang Star-Spangled Banner na pambansang awit ng bansang Amerika. Nauna nang naibalita na hiniling noon ni Manny Pacquiao na ang dalagang si Jessica Sanchez ang aawit sa kaniyang laban.

Kinumpirma rin ng Mexican-Filipina ang kaniyang pagkanta sa laban sa pamamagitan ng kaniyang Twitter account. Ayon sa dalagang si Jessica, excited na raw siyang kumanta sa makasaysayang laban ni Manny at Timothy.

Magaganap ang laban sa MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas kung saan madalas idaos ang mga laban ni Manny Pacquiao. Ito ang unang pagkakataon na haharap muli si Jessica Sanchez sa madaming audience kabilang na ang mga kababayan niyang mga Pilipino. Kahit na hindi si Jessica ang naatasang kumanta ng pambansang awit ng Pilipinas ay may nahanap naman ang kampo ni Manny ng isang dalaga na maaaring gumawa nito. Ito ay si Kriby Asunto na kilala bilang isang Filipino-American Broadway star.

Kasama ni Jessica Sanchez ang kapwa Filipino na magpeperform sa mahigit 16,000 na live audience. Bukod dito ay haharap din sila milyon-milyong manonood sa telebisyon kabilang na ang buong bansa ng Pilipinas. Bago pa simulaln ni Jessica ang kaniyang tour kasama pa ang ibang American Idol finalists ay kakanta muna siya  sa gitna ng boxing ring kasama ang kapwa Pilipino na si Manny Pacquiao. Halo-halo naman ang naging reaksyon ng mga tao sa hindi pagkanta ni Jessica ng Lupang Hinirang.

Marami ang umaasa na ang pambansang awit ng bansang Pilipinas ang aawitin ni Jessica kung kaya inimbitahan siya ni Manny noon. Matatandaang noong finals ng American Idol ay pumunta pa si Manny Pacquiao sa Kodak theater sa Los Angeles, California para magpakita ng suporta kay Jessica Sanchez pero hindi niya na ito naabutan. Ayon sa ilan, hindi umano alam ni Jessica ang naturang awitin at nasanay siya na kantahin ang pambansang awit ng Amerika dahil dito na ito ipinanganak at lumaki. Marami rin ang naghihintay sa mga tagahanga ni Jessica na magsalita ito ng Tagalog pero tila hindi umano ito nasanay dito. Wala naman umanong naging problema kay Manny Pacquiao kung aawit si Jessica Sanchez ng pamsang awit ng kaniyang kalaban.

Daniel Padilla, may debut album na

Naging matagumpay ang grand fans day ni Daniel Padilla dahil bukod dito ay nagsilbi rin itong launching ng kaniyang debut album. Una nang inilabas sa Internet ang kaniyang single na Hinahanap-Hanap Kita na agad namang tinangkilik ng mga tagahanga ni Daniel. Naganap noong June 4 ang paglabas ang grand fans day ni Daniel Padilla sa SM North SkyDome. Kahit na sanay na ang binata sa mga mall show sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng bansa ay hindi pa rin niya napigilang mabigla sa mainit na pagtanggap ng mga tao sa paglabas ng kaniyang debut album.

Natutuwa naman daw ang binatang aktor at singer dahil kahit hindi pa siya lumalabas sa stage ay hindi na magkamayaw sa pagsigaw ang kaniyang mga tagahanga partikular na ang mga teenager na babae. May nakarating namang balita kay Daniel Padilla ay mayroon siyang mga tagahanga na pumunta pa nang maaga para sa launching ng debut album niya. Masaya si Daniel dahil napapasaya niya ang mga tao sa paligid niya. Hindi lang sa pag-arte hinangaan ang binata dahil may naitatago din umano itong talento sa pagkanta kung kaya napagdesisyunan nila na maglabas ng kaniyang debut album.

Dalawang oras bago ang naturang event ay agad nang napuno ang mga upuan sa lugar. Apat na kanta na galing sa kaniyang debut album ang ibinahagi ni Daniel Padilla sa kaniyang mga fans. Bukod dito ay mayroong ding mga palaro na inahandog ang production para makasalamuha ng binata ang kaniyang mga tagahanga. Kasama ng aktor ang kaniyang mga magulang na sina Karla Estrada at Rommel Padilla. Maging ang miyembro ng banda ni Daniel Padilla na Parking 5 ay pumunta rin sa launching ng debut album ng kanilang kabanda.

Masaya siya dahil kitang-kita niya umano ang suporta ng mga magulang niya kahit na hiwalay na ang mga ito. Ipinagmalaki naman ni Daniel ang pagpapalaki sa kaniya ng mga magulang na nagresulta sa hindi  niya pagrerebelde. Hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin makapaniwala si Daniel Padilla na makapaglalabas siya ng kaniyang debut album gayung isa siyang guitar player sa kaniyang banda at hindi ang lead singer.

Bago pa lumabas ang debut album ng binata ay una na siyang pinakanta sa Gandang Gabi Vice at dun niya lang naman daw naramdaman na masarap umano ang pakiramdam ng pagkanta.

Aminado naman si Daniel Padilla na lamang sa kaniyang grand fans day at launching ng debut album ay ang kaniyang co-star at napapabalitang nililigawan na si Kathryn Bernardo. Kasalukuyan umanong may trabaho ang dalaga kung kaya hindi ito nagawang dumaan sa album launch. Nakapag-usap na rin umano sina Kathryn at Daniel bago pa ang event. Kahit pa medyo nalulungkot si Daniel Padilla ay ramdam naman niya umano ang suporta sa kaniyang ng dalaga.

Ara Mina, Cristine Reyes nagkasundo na

Matapos ang pagsampa ng kasong libel at grave coercion ni Ara Mina sa sariling kapatid na si Cristine Reyes ay hindi pa rin nagkakasundo ang magkapatid. Nakatanggap lang umano si Ara ng text message mula kay Cristine pero hindi niya na umano ito sinagot. Magkikita sana sina Ara Mina at Cristine Reyes sa preliminary hearing para sa kasong isinampa pero ang abogado lamang ng huli ang sumipot sa Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. Nagbigay lamang ng counter affidavit ang kampo ni Cristine at hindi sumipot sa schedule. Pumunta naman si Ara sa korte para sagutin ang sinabing counter affidavit ng kaniyang nakakabatang kapatid.

Magkikita na sana sina Ara Mina at Cristine Reyes sa kasal ng kanilang kapatid na gaganapin sa June 8. Tila hindi naman ito matutuloy dahil lilipad papuntang Dubai si Ara para sa isang show. Aniya, hindi ata sila pinapagtagpo ng tadhana kung kaya wala na rin daw siyang magagawa rito. Hindi naman pwedeng umayaw si Ara sa naturang show dahil matagal na itong nakabook. Ang huling text na natanggap niya mula kay Cristine ay noong May 9 na isang pagbati sa kaniyang kaarawan. Hindi naman din daw humihingi ng tawad si Cristine Reyes kay Ara Mina patungkol sa maga nagawa niyang kasalanan sa kaniyang ate.

Aminado naman ang aktres na si Ara na matagal niya nang napatawad si Cristine pero pursigido pa rin umano siyang ituloy ang kasong isinampa. Ito ay hindi daw para sa kaniyang sarili kundi para sa mga nasaktan na tao ni Cristine Reyes sa kalagitnaan ng kanilang awayan ni Ara Mina. Kahit raw hindi na humingi ng tawad sa kaniya ang kapatid ay mapapatawad na rin daw ito ni Ara. Ang nais niya lang ay maramdaman niya na totoo ang paghingi ng tawad ng dalaga sa kaniya at hindi lang dahil sa pagpapakita sa media.

Inaasahan na man daw ni Ara Mina na magkakaayos din sila sa huli ng kaniyang kapatid na si Cristine Reyes dahil isa silang pamilya. Hiling niya ay humingi rin ng paumanhin si Cristine sa ibang taong nasagasaan sa mga pangyayari. Bukod sa dalawa ay ang isa umano sa mga apektado sa mga nangyayari ay ang kanilang ina. Ayon kay Ara, naaawa na rin naman daw siya sa kanilang ina dahil hirap ang kalooban nito sa mga pangyayari. Ang ipinaglalaban lang naman daw ngayon ni Ara Mina ay hindi para sa kaniyang sariling kapakanan kundi pati na rin daw kay Cristine Reyes.

Ayon naman sa mga abogado ng dalagang si Cristine ay bukas ang kaniyang kliyente sa pakikipag-ayos. Nakalagay sa afffidavit ni Ara ay ang request para magbigay ng public apology ang kaniyang kapatid. Hindi na rin inilabas ni Ara Mina ang mga taong nasagasaan umano sa kanilang awayan dahil pawang mga pribadong nilalang umano ang mga ito. Hindi rin gusto ng dating aktres ang mga tila pagkunsinti ng mga taong nakapaligid kay Cristine Reyes.

Jason Francisco, Melai Cantiveros nagbalikan?

Inamin ni Jason Francisco na magmula nang maghiwalay sila ni Melai Cantiveros ay wala na siyang niligawang ibang babae dahil balak niya ulit ligawan ang ex. Kahit pa pinipilit ng mga tao sa paligid ni Jason na humanap na ito ng iba ay tila hindi pa rin daw kaya ng binata na kalimutan si Melai. Matapos ang ilang buwang hindi pag-uusap nina Jason Francisco at Melai Cantiveros noong February ay naging kumportable na rin sila sa isa’t-isa. Nababalitaan na rin daw ni Jason na mayroong bagong manliligaw si Melai pero tila hindi raw siya kumbinsido rito. Ayon kay Jason Francisco, kilala niya umano si Melai Cantiveros at hindi ito basta-basta nagpapaligaw sa iba nang basta-basta.

Tila naman nagpapahiwatig si Jason na maaaring mabigyan muli ng pagkakataon ang kanilang pag-iibigan ni Melai. Hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin umano nawawala sa kaniyang isipan ang panliligaw muli sa dating nobya. Pareho lang naman daw sila ng nararamdaman ni Melai Cantiveros dahil ayaw nilang madaliin ang kanilang mga sarili. Parati raw nababanggit ni Jason Francisco sa dalaga na wala silang dapat asahan sa isa’t-isa dahil hindi naman sila magkarelasyon. Ngayong civil na sa isa’t-isa ang dating magkasintahan ay lalo pa raw silang naging mas masaya dahil walang selos na nagaganap. Sinasabing ang pagiging selosa umano ni Melai ang dahilan ng kanilang paghihiwalay ni Jason.

Nagagawa rin naman daw lumabas nina Jason Francisco at Melai Cantiveros kahit pa medyo abala rin sila sa kani-kanilang mga trabaho. Hanggang ngayon naman daw ay nananatili pa rin ang nararamdaman ng binata sa dalagang aktres. Gusto lang daw ibalik ni Jason ang mga magagandang pinagsamahan nila noon ni Melai. Hind lang naman daw ito madaling kalimutan para kay Jason Francisco dahil espesyal na tao pa rin sa kaniya si Melai Cantiveros.

Naniniwala naman ang binata na maaaring sa huli ay sila pa rin ang magkatuluyan ng dating nobya. Aniya, halos magkapreho sila ng ugali at iniisip ni Melai. Kung sakali namang hindi iyon mangyari ay umaasa si Jason Francisco na mapunta si Melai Cantiveros sa lalakeng aalagaan ang dalaga. Nakasalalay na rin naman daw sa dalaga kung sino ang gusto niyang makasama pero ang nais ng binata ay ang hindi na masaktan ang babaeng nananatiling espesyal sa kaniya.
