Kim Chiu reacts to rumors linking James Reid to her sister

"Hindi ko alam ate (Kris Aquino), hindi ko siya kasama sa house."

Thus did Kim Chiu admit in an interview on “Kris TV’ last Tuesday, December 16, that she doesn’t know if rumors linking James Reid to her sister Twinkle are true.

The rumors started after photos of James and Twinkle together circulated online.

James Reid’s reaction

James, for his part, said in an interview in “Bandila” that he and Twinkle are just friends.

"We’ve met each other a couple of times outside. We know each other. Common friends, we’re common friends with Andi Eigenmann."

Aside from their photos, a screencap of a supposed text conversation between Twinkle and James spread in social media.

"Well I actually didn’t say anything wrong so it didn’t really affect me. It’s up to her but I'm just being friendly," James reacted.

Not yet time

The loveless James said he is not dating anyone because of his busy schedule. He and his Erika Villongco broke up months ago.

"Actually I intended to be friends with her again but just not now. I don’t think it’s time yet."

James entered showbiz after his stint in the "Pinoy Big Brother" house. But he rose to fame because of the movie Diary ng Panget," which teamed him up with onscreen partner Nadine Lustre.

Gerald Anderson sees himself marrying Maja Salvador

Gerald Anderson has learned not to make promises, especially in front of the camera, when it comes to relationships.

"Halos lahat high profile yung naging relationships ko. Isa sa natutunan ko is I turn my promises into goals na lang.  Does it make me less of a man dahil hindi ko na kayang mag-promise? Of course not,” Gerald said at the press conference of ABS-CBN’s Christmas TV special “Give Love on Christmas,” where he stars with his girlfriend, Maja Salvador.

Longest relationship

It will be recalled that Gerald courted Sarah Geronimo and had a relationship with Kim Chiu.
He is so serious with Maja,  Gerald  wants to have the ‘longest relationship na sana hanggang marriage” with her.

“I pray that I’ll do my best.”

Although controversies gave their relationship a rough start, Gerald and Maja’s  love for each other triumphed over the problems.

No promises

“Dati ko pang sinasabi iyon and I made promises but that’s life, minsan may mga bagay na hindi nangyayari. I’m not making any promises, I’m just making that my number one goal in life to have that very long relationship na to stay with the feelings that you have for that person sa simula pa lang. Alam natin na napakahirap niyan but iyan ang goal ko. It’s not a promise, it’s a goal. I just pray to God that it works well.”
He also said that  the challenges they faced as a couple were blessings in disguise.
“Ang daming kong natutunan sa kanya (Maja),”  Gerald said.

Although hesitant to work with each other at first, Gerald and Maja changed their mind when they read the story of   “Give Love on Christmas Day: The Gift of Life.”

The Christmas special  starts airing over ABS-CBN starting Monday, December 22.

Jon Santos: Social media raised the bar for comedians

Established stand-up comedian Jon Santos acknowledged the role social media plays in improving the lot of comedy.
The thespian, who recently appeared as the transsexual Bernadette in the stage musical “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” sees it as a way for punch lines to become more intelligent and less predictable.
“Every minute a joke is posted and spread out for free kaya comedians ngayon hindi na pwedeng basta-basta mangopya na lang because some people may have already read or heard that somewhere,” he told Yahoo Philippines.

The pressure to be original, edgier
Jon, mentored by comedian Tessie Tomas, is as well known for his wit as he is with his impersonations of Vilma Santos, Kris Aquino and Joseph Estrada.
But he admits it isn’t easy.
“Mahirap patawanin ang Pinoy na techie. Libre ang jokes sa telepono and nagkalat na free videos. The pressure to be original, edgier and novel is there,” he confessed.
“But it’s all good. Tumaas ang quality ng pagpapatawa at pagsusulat dahil dito. The bar is raised.”

Retro kid

Jon, who completed the second run of the play in Resorts World Manila following a stint in Singapore was asked about his take on 80s music, which fills the musical.
“I’m a proud member of the 70s and 80s disco generation,” he replied. “The music that came out of that period is timeless kasi we noticed that yung soundtrack ng ‘Priscilla’ reached out to the hearts of all the generations who came to see us, may they be baby boomers, Gen X-ers, or millennials.”
Songs featured in the musical include “I Will Survive,” “I Love the Nightlife,” “Shake Your Groove Thing” and “Go West.”
