"Born to Love You" starring Coco Martin and Angeline Quinto, on its first 5 days in theaters earned P29.7-Million while Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban's movie "Every Breath You Take" raked a total of P50.2-Million on its three weeks of showing.

Take your first look at the pay-off poster of Walt Disney Pictures’ upcoming animated feature, “Frankenweenie” which has just been launched by the studio.
From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, “Frankenweenie” was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.
With a screenplay by Burton and John August, the film's voice cast is lead by Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan and Atticus Shaffer.
Opening in the Philippines this October, “Frankenweenie” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures.

Anna Maria Perez de Tagle Wins Best Actress for "Godspell"
Filipino-American Anna Maria Perez de Tagle was honored as Best Featured Actress In A Musical in the 10th Annual BroadwayWorld.com Theater Awards Wednesday for her acclaimed performance in the ongoing revival of the musical “Godspell”.
The 21-year-old former Disney star was nominated in her category along with 28 others in the awards that BroadwayWorld.com described as “by far the largest and most popular online Broadway polling event of its kind, open to all and with fully visible and audited results.”
Anna Maria, the granddaughter of legendary Filipina singer Sylvia La Torre, won through an online poll.
“Godspell”, based on a series of parables about the passion of Jesus Christ from the Gospel, is a musical by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak that was first staged off-Broadway in 1971. The popularity of the play culminated in a film version starring Victor Garber in 1973.
One highlight of the musical is the cast performance of the popular song “Day By Day”, featuring Anna Maria singing lead.
The current production of “Godspell”, which also stars “High School Musical” cast member Corbin Bleu, also won Best Revival of a Musical in the said awards.

Camille Prats and Suzi Entrata-Abrera to Host New Kapuso Talk Show ‘Mars’
Celebrity moms Camille Prats and Suzi Entrata-Abrera are going to host a new talk show which will air on GMA’s news channel, GMA News TV.
The talk show entitled “MARS” (short for ‘Mare’) is a production of GMA Entertainment TV Group. It aims to capture primarily the female market particularly moms, although the show could also attract viewers from among the male and teen demographics since it will also feature segments about health, personal finance and relationships.
“Alam niyo po, sa totoo lang napakasuwerte ko [si Suzi] yung unang-una kong naging partner sa unang-una kong talk show kasi napakasarap niyang kabatuhan, napakasarap niyang kausap,” Camille said during the press conference of the show held on Tuesday, June 5 at the GMA Network Center.
Although it is the first time for Camille to host a talk show, she said that she is not having a hard time doing the job since she gets a lot of help from her co-host.
“Of course, she (Suzi) knows a lot more than I do because she’s more experienced than I am, pero she knows how to listen. Kung baga kaya naming magkasundo sa isang bagay na pagtatawanan lang namin na ang saya-saya lang. Although serious yung usapan namin, we make it fun and light. She also helps me to give out my opinion, hindi yung siya lang ang nagsasalita,” Camille shared.
Suzi, on the other hand, praised Camille for her stamina, especially since aside from their talk show, she is also doing the primetime series Luna Blanca on GMA-7.
“Naisip ko nung una mahirap talaga [para sa akin] kasi ang aga talagang nag-uumpisa ang araw ko until may nakasama akong artista (referring to Camille) na pagkatapos nito may taping pa, bukas may taping ulit tapos may taping na naman kami sa Thursday, kung mejo mabigat po yung schedule sa akin, mas mabigat po yung [kay Camille],” said Suzi.
MARS premieres this Monday, June 11. It will air from Monday to Friday, 6:00pm on GMA News TV Channel 11.
“Sana po suportahan niyo po kami dahil sinisigurado namin na magiging masaya ito, gagawin naming masaya ang gabi ng mga ku-Mars namin,” Camille said.

Bayo recently launched its “What’s Your Mix?” campaign showing different mixed-race models proudly promoting their ancestry, their roots, their heritage.
Anne Curtis' sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith is captioned with “50% Australian and 50% Filipino” while other models were given labels such as “80% Chinese and 20% Filipino,” “40% British and 60% Filipino,” and 30% Indian and 70% Filipino.”
However, what could people behind this ads thought the public should have perceived is exactly different with how it looks like now.
Some consumers and netizens assailed the campaign for being racist. Others thought the ads is anti-filipino and an advertising failure.
"You have to be mixed race to be considered beautiful. 100% Pinoy not good enough. Poor if you don’t have a foreign blood." one Twitter user said.
“Call it biased, but the mixing and matching of different nationalities with Filipino blood is almost a sure formula for someone beautiful and world-class. We always have the fighting chance to make it in the world arena of almost all aspects,” Bayo, meanwhile, said in a statement.
But as they always say, "Bad Publicity is still a Publicity!" and I guess that's what BAYO tries to achieve. And yes, they succeeded!
Meanwhile, some internet users easily made fun of this campaign putting their own versions online.

Alden and Louise land their biggest roles to date as the lead stars of this program about the enduring power of love between two people from two different walks of life.
Alden and Louise are both primed to star in this sweeping drama with their raw but powerful acting skills. The chemistry of the two onscreen is palpably strong and there has been brewing excitement among fans and viewers for Alden and Louise’s team-up.

The story of One True Love begins with Ellen, a hardworking janitress who falls madly in love with Carlos, a successful businessman who is already married to Leila. Unknown to Ellen, Carlos is not serious about their whirlwind romance and only becomes aware of his true feelings after finding out that she is pregnant.
Ellen tries to end her ties with Carlos after Leila starts attacking her. But Carlos wants to raise their child and tells Ellen that their child would have a better future with him. Ellen agrees with Carlos but unfortunately, Leila vehemently opposes this idea. She resents raising her husband’s illegitimate child so she plots a scheme to switch the child with someone else’s.
When Ellen gives birth, Leila is present to “help” out but in truth, she uses this opportunity to switch Ellen’s son with another newborn baby girl in the hospital. The moment Ellen sees her child, she immediately falls in love with her baby and tries to back out from the deal she made with Carlos. Furious, Carlos gets Ellen arrested for a fabricated crime so he can get full custody of their child. Helpless and powerless, Ellen swears vengeance on Carlos and Leila.
Meanwhile, Carlos showers his daughter Elize with love and attention not knowing that Leila switched Elize with his real child. His orphaned son grows up in the docks of Manila through the kindness shown by the people in the port district. Because of his mestizo and charming looks, he is given the moniker Tisoy. And by some weird twist of fate, Tisoy ends up working in the port owned by his real father Carlos.
Everything seems to be in place and going well for Tisoy and his adoptive grandmother Lola Tilda until one fateful night when he crosses paths with Elize, the rich daughter of Carlos. Tisoy is completely smitten with Elize’s beauty and she finds him charming too. Soon, the two become lovers and keep their romance a secret from Elize’s disapproving parents.
How long can Tisoy and Elize weather the odds of their forbidden romance? With Carlos and Ellen threatening to tear them apart, can the star-crossed lovers fulfill their destiny to once and for all be together even in the next lifetime? What will happen to Leila if her secret is finally revealed? What will be Carlos’ reaction if he finds out the truth about the real identity of Tisoy? Masaya si BB Gandanghari dahil nakapag-usap na sila ni Zoren Legaspi kung kaya pakiramdam niya ay tila nabunutan na siya ng tinik matapos nito. Ayon kay BB, magaan ang kaniyang pakiramdam sa nangyaring itnerview sa kaniya ni Zoren. Wala naman daw kasing dahilan para mag-usap sila noon ni Zoren Legaspi dahil wala silang issue  na dapat pag-usapan. Hindi naman daw nahirapan si BB Gandanghari na kumbinsihin ang kaniyang sarili na makipagharap sa kasalukuyang kinakasama ng dating asawa na si Carmina Villarroel. Ang nais lang naman daw ni BB ay maging maayos na ang lahat sa pagitan nila at matapos na ang iwasan na nangyayari.
Wala naman daw dapat pag-usapan at itago pa sina BB at Zoren simula pa noong una. Aminado si BB Gandanghari na nailang siya sa pagharap nila ni Zoren Legaspi sa harap ng kamera. Itinanggi naman ni BB na ang dahilan ng kaniyang pagkailang sa host ay dahil sa magandang mukha nito. Aniya, hindi siya naging kumportable noong una dahil hindi niya talaga personal na kilala ang host. Ayaw na rin naman gawing kumplikado ni BB Gandanghari ang relasyon nila ni Zoren Legaspi dahil lang sinabihan niya ito ng gwapo. Pero hindi itinanggi ni BB na kung sakaling may manligaw sa kaniya ay mayroong parehong personalidad kay Zoren.

D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown has filed his resignation following charges for bank fraud.
Brown has submitted his letter of resignation on June 6 and was received by D.C. Council Secretary Nyasha Smith.

I hereby resign my position as Chairman of the Council of the District of Columbia effective immediately. I have made some very serious mistakes in judgment for which I will take full responsibility.
Because of the great respect that I have for the institution that is the Council of the District of Columbia, I have chosen the only honorable course in submitting my resignation at this time. I simply will not hold this body, and its important work hostage to the resolution of my personal indiscretions.
I have behaved in ways that I should not have. I was wrong, and I will face the consequences of that conduct. I have apologized to the residents of our great city, and I also offer my unconditional apology to the members of the Council for all of the negative attention that my conduct has brought about.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has sold his massive, stunning mansion in Hidden Hills, California to the tune of $4.9 million.

The Rock has sold his massive, stunning home in Hidden Hills for very close to the $4.9 million asking price ... TMZ has learned.
Sources tell us the estate -- located 22 miles from Hollywood -- is being purchased by a businessman. It's currently in escrow and scheduled to close shortly.
The 9,120 square foot house has 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, an infinity pool and an awesome home theater.
The lucky realtors - Tomer Fridman from Sotheby's International who represents the buyer and Andrew Manning from Prudential who reps The Rock - should score a nice commission.
