GMA Network is known for its top rating and high quality Telefantasya series such as Mulawin, Encantadia, Alice Bungisngis and My Daddy Dearest that surely enchanted and charmed the hearts of viewers of all ages and at the same time made them laugh, cry and fall in love. This coming November, GMA presents "Paroa: Ang Kwento ni Mariposa", another Telefantasya that will not only tackle love but also family values and relationships. Paroa, Ang Kuwento Ni Mariposa will replace Moon Embracing The Sun beginning November 5 before 24 Oras.
This original drama-fantasy series is topbilled by one of today’s hottest young love team on Philippine TV – Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio. With the recent success of their tandem in the primetime drama Luna Blanca, they are back as they relive their onscreen love team as Mariposa and Inigo on GMA’s early prime series.
Completing the star-studded cast are Joyce Ching as Becca, Miguel Tanfelix as Joko, Bianca Umali as Leah, Rita de Guzman as Lizzy, Ren Escano as Betty, and Agot Isidro as Amalia with Alicia Mayer as Rosanna, Maritoni Fernandez as Belen, Tanya Garcia as Aurora, Gino Dela Pena as Roman and Marc Acueza as Desmond.
The series tells the story of Mariposa (Barbie), who belongs to the kingdom of the butterfly people, known as Paroa. However, she will grow up in the human world because their kingdom got destroyed. Her mother Aurora (Tanya), the queen of Paroa, will save her from the destruction of their kingdom.
Thus, Mariposa will grow up under the care of Amalia (Agot) who treats her as her own child despite her strange looks – Mariposa’s skin is similar to a higad. Despite people making fun of her because of her looks, Mariposa will still have a cheerful and optimistic disposition. However, her life will change when she transforms into a beautiful Paroa.
Meanwhile, Inigo (Derrick) will grow up hating the Paroas because her mother Rosanna (Alicia) told him that his father died because of them. He will be Mariposa’s high school classmate. He has a bad-boy image and always gets kicked out from school that’s why he is still in his sophomore year. Inigo and Mariposa will be friends but because of peer pressure he will also mock and make fun of Mariposa.
However, when Mariposa transforms into a beautiful Paroa, Inigo will like and develop feelings towards her not knowing that she is the same girl who he mocked and at the same time a Paroa who he grew up hating.
With Mariposa’s transformation into a beautiful Paroa, she will face the biggest decision in life. Will she choose Aurora, her real mother or Amalia, the person who raised and treated her as her own child? What will happen when Inigo finds out that Mariposa, the girl she likes is a Paroa?

Ten years after their successful debut on primetime television, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo reunite in a mature love story that tackles the dilemma of choosing between love and loyalty in A Beautiful Affair which premieres on October 29 on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
Spicing up this sweeping romantic teleserye is actor John Estrada, who stars in his biggest drama series to date. The much-awaited series is one of the highlights of the tenth anniversary celebration of the most successful team of their generation.
Follow the love story of three people who will each face the toughest obstacles in a relationship and will be forced to make a choice between steadfast loyalty and passionate love.
Leon Riego (John Lloyd), a brilliant architect and Gen Saavedra (Bea), an heiress, first meet in Austria as two broken souls. Their mutual attraction will temporarily unburden them of their respective miseries – Leon from the guilt brought by the death of his adoptive mother, and Gen who is trying to move on from the betrayal of a former lover.
Together, they wind up spending the time of their lives by getting on a romantic escapade to Vienna and Salzburg. In each other’s pains they find strength, and in each other’s bitterness they find love.
Despite the undeniable attraction between them, they decide to part ways and fix their lives before choosing to love again.
They meet after a year but, to Leon’s surprise, Gen is already in a relationship with construction magnate Edward (John Estrada) who has been an important figure in his life since childhood and has helped him achieve his dream of becoming an architect.
How will Edward deal with the knowledge of Gen’s encounter with Leon in the past? Who between the two men will Gen really choose? Which will carry more weight for Leon – his love for Gen which he believes will mend his shattered soul or his loyalty to Edward brought by debt of gratitude?
A Beautiful Affair takes full circle with the return of the people who first brought John Lloyd and Bea’s love team to the small screen - now business unit head Laurenti Dyogi and now director Katrina Flores. Muling nagbabalik ang dating child star na si Carlo Aquino sa ABS-CBN para sa kaniyang bagong proyekto. Kasalukuyang ginagawa ni Carlo ang pelikulang Mater Dolorosa sa ilalim ng Star Cinema. Masaya naman daw ang binatang aktor sa kaniyang muling pagbabalik sa ABS-CBN na itinuring niyang orihinal na home network. Kaka-release pa lamang ngayon ni Carlo Aquino sa Viva at hindi pa pumipirma ng kontrata sa ABS-CBN. Aminado ang aktor na na-miss niya ang pag-arte dahil ito raw talaga ang kaniyang gusotng gawin. Naniniwala rin si Carlo na ang pag-arte ang ibinigay ng Itaas sa kaniya na talento kung kaya gusto niya pa itong ipagpatuloy.

Inamin ni Barbie Forteza na wala na silang komunikasyon ng kaniyang dating leading man na si Joshua Dionisio. Ito ay mapa-text man o mapa-Twitter. Kasalukuyang naka-leave si Joshua sa showbiz dahil ipinagpatuloy nito ang kaniyang pag-aaral. Huling nakasama ni Barbie ang binata sa afternoon romance-drama na Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin noong 2011. Daniel Craig Plays His Best James Bond Role Ever in ‘Skyfall’
Daniel Craig leads the cast of Columbia Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ “Skyfall,” his third film as James Bond 007. “Bond is actually remarkably difficult part to play, because he says very little, and the moment you make him say too much, it’s not Bond anymore,” says Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes.
“He operates on instinct a lot of the time. He has his own inner demons and he doesn’t reveal them to other characters, and yet the audience needs to be aware of them, especially in this particular movie,” Mendes adds. “In `Skyfall,’ the audience has got to see him, in a sense, fall apart and put himself back together again, but none of the other characters see what’s really going on behind the curtain. Daniel’s done that, I think, brilliantly.”
It was Craig who invited his friend, Mendes, to direct “Skyfall.” “When we started talking about it, I felt a connection with someone who had exactly the same enthusiasm and respect for the Bond films that I did,” says Craig. “And, of course, I deeply respect Sam as a director. I said to him, ‘This is going to be a new experience for you – trust me, because I made two of them and it was a very new experience for me. Nothing can quite prepare you.’”
“Daniel’s one of the greatest actors that we’ve ever had,” says producer Barbara Broccoli. “He has inhabited the role of Bond and he’s pushed it in directions that one wouldn’t have thought possible. Starting with `Casino Royale’ and going into `Quantum of Solace,’ and certainly in this film, he really reveals Bond’s inner life in a way that we’ve never seen before, in a way that author Ian Fleming does in the books, where you really feel as if you understand the inner turmoil and complexity and conflicts. With this screenplay and with Sam, we’ve unearthed a lot of the emotion connected to Bond’s own past and mined the dramatic tension that stems from that.”
Broccoli explains that “Skyfall” explores the relationship between Bond and M (Judi Dench) – perhaps more than in any of the 22 previous films. “We wanted to really mine the relationship between Bond and M, because it is the most significant relationship he has in his life,” says the producer. “M is the only person who represents authority to him. You have two extraordinary actors, and we just thought – let’s go all the way. It’s worked extremely well. It’s a very emotional story.”
“Their relationship is based on mutual respect,” says Craig. “They both know that every time the chips are down, one of them will have to make a sacrifice – it’s difficult to have a touchy-feely relationship with someone under those circumstances. But at the same time – and Sam was very keen on this – Bond’s always had in the back of his mind that there’s a bit more. It’s something he never shows, but the connection is there – and I get a kick out of that as an actor, to play a life you can’t show.”
Bond audiences expect that a Bond film will deliver plenty of action, and off course, no actor had more stunts than Craig. Co-star Javier Bardem describes watching Craig take on the role: “There is some physicality to the role that you have to be prepared to do, but of course mine compared to Daniel’s was nothing. And he does the action scenes so easily – From the outside, watching him, I was thinking, ‘If I were you, I wouldn’t be doing that!’” Bardem laughs. “I mean, I did a little bit, but nothing in comparison to with what Daniel did.”
“Daniel’s an extremely hard working actor, probably the hardest working actor I’ve ever seen,” says producer Michael G. Wilson. “And it’s not only the mental preparation, but the physical preparation. He works out like a demon, like a professional athlete. He is really committed to the role, committed to being Bond.”
Broccoli adds, “Daniel contributes a great deal to designing the action and the fights in particular and he’s the one who really pulls it off, because he wants to do as much of it as he possibly can. We were in Turkey for the train sequence and I had my heart in my mouth the whole time; he and Ola Rapace were fighting on the roof of a moving train and the moves that they were doing were just heart stopping. Daniel’s the reason why the action works as well as it does because he sells it, he’s up there and I think audiences know that.”

Unang magkakakilala ang arkitektong si Leon (John Lloyd) at ang herederang si Gen (Bea) sa Austria at agad na mahuhulog ang loob nila sa isa’t isa para takasan ang dala-dala nilang kasawian – si Leon mula sa kalungkutan ng pagkamatay ng kanyang kinagisnang ina, at si Gen sa pait ng pagtataksil ng dating karelasyon.
Doo’y lilibutin nila ang Vienna at Salzburg at pilit na hihilumin ang mga sugatang puso. Ngunit sa kabila ng hindi maitatangging pagtitinginan ng dalawa ay magdedesisyon silang maghiwalay ng landas at ayusin ang kanya-kanyang buhay bago umibig muli.
Muling pagtatagpuin ang kanilang landas makalipas ng isang taon ngunit mapapag-alaman ni Leon na kasintahan na ni Gen ang matagumpay na negosyanteng si Edward (John Estrada), ang taong tumulong sa kanya mula pagkabata at nagsanay sa kanya para maabot ang pangarap na maging arkitekto.
Paano tatanggapin ni Edward pag nalaman niyang may naging ugnayan sa nakaraan si Gen kay Leon? Sino ang talagang pipiliin ni Gen sa dalawa? Alin naman ang magiging mas matimbang para kay Leon – ang pag-ibig niya kay Gen na sa tingin niya’y makakapagbigay sa kanya ng tunay na kaligayahan o ang katapatan niya kay Edward dala ng utang na loob?
Maituturing na isang “full–circle project” ang A Beautiful Affair dahil sa muling pagsasama ng mga taong bumuo sa tambalang John Lloyd-Bea sa kanilang unang Kapamilya teleserye, ang top-rating na Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay – ang business unit head na si Laurenti Dyogi na dating direktor ng naturang serye, at ang direktor na si Katrina Flores na dati’y nagsilbing headwriter nito.
Binubuo rin ang cast ng A Beautiful Affair ng mahuhusay na artistang sina Dimples Romana, John Arcilla, Jaime Fabregas, Maritoni Fernandez, Ana Roces, Janus del Prado, at Megan Young kasama sina Jim Paredes at PBB Unlimited Big Winner Slater Young sa kanilang kauna-unahang teleserye.

Boy Abunda Offered Role in A Beautiful Affair
Television host Boy Abunda was supposed to be part of the upcoming ABS-CBN series “A Beautiful Affair.”Abunda made the revelation on “The Buzz” on Sunday while he and co-host Charlene Gonzales were interviewing “A Beautiful Affair” lead stars Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.
According to Abunda, it was director Laurenti Dyogi himself who offered him a role in the series.
“I was offered to be part of the “A Beautiful Affair.” In-offer po ako ni Direk Lauren. I was supposed to own an art gallery sa Vienna tapos nasunog and then Lloydie was supposed to come to me for love advice,” he shared.
Abunda, however, said he felt the role wasn't right for him.
“Sabi ko parang hindi ko yata gusto na masusunog ang art gallery. Gusto ko ang role kung ako ay lalabas sa siang teleserye, 'yung medyo bagay sa akin. Abogado sabi ko. What they did, they wrote another role. Lawyer naman, magbabasa ng will,” he said.
But when the award-winning television host learned that he will only be delivering four lines, he disagreed to do it.
“There was a scene there na may will. Babasahin ko 'yung four lines. Sabi ko bakit four lines lang? I want more lines. Doon sa apat na linya, sasabat pa si Bea. Sabi ko ayaw ko na lang,” he said.
Joking he would just wait for the next material, Abunda said in jest that he could just not do it.
Joining Cruz and Alonzo in the series are John Estrada, John Arcilla, Jaime Fabregas, Jim Paredes, Slater Young, Megan Young and Maritoni Fernandez.
Billed as the "long-awaited return of the love team that defined a generation," "A Beautiful Affair" is Alonzo and Cruz's first TV project together in four years. It also marks the 10th anniversary of their onscreen team-up.

Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert bag ‘Artista Academy’ top honors
Vin and Sophie impressed critics Lorna Tolentino, Gelli De Belen, “Artista Academy” Principal Wilma Galvante and TV5 Talent Center head Direk Mac Alejandre in their acting, singing and dancing challenges.
Vin, initially known during the contest as Aljur Abrenica’s younger brother, tried to veer away from the latter’s shadow and proved he can do it on his own. He bested out finalists Akihiro Blanco and Mark.
Sophie, whose family hails from Tarlac, is a niece of Kris Aquino and Mikee Cojuangco. Sophie beat Chanel Morales and Shaira Mae in the reality search.

Vin and Sophie each won P10 million worth of cash and prizes, a condominium unit, brand-new car, and a P5 million management contract from TV5.
Final challenge
For their final challenge, the finalists showcased their talents in singing, dancing and acting. They also made a short film directed by Eric Quizon (for the three female finalists) and Joyce Bernal (for the three male finalists).
Sophie acted in the drama “The Bride,” while Vin appeared in “Buwelta.”
Their final grade was based on their accumulated average for the past three weeks (40 percent), grades for their performance during the awards night (40 percent) and text votes (20 percent).
Vin and Sophie, together with the other finalists and Tropang Kick-Out members Benjo Leoncio, Brent Manzano, Chris Leonardo, Jon Orlando, Malak So Shdifat, Marvelous Alejo, Nicole Estrada and Stephanie Rowe, will star in an upcoming youth-oriented series “Forever Barkada.”
The awards night was hosted by Cesar Montano, Marvin Agustin, Valeen Montenegro and Mr. Fu.
Eddie Garcia and Nora Aunor handed out the major awards.

Zendee Rose Tenerefe makes ‘Ellen’ debut
After making waves online, Zendee Rose Tenerefe—also known as the “random girl” discovered while singing in a shopping mall—finally made her US television debut when saw performed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Friday, October 26.
The 21-year-old General Santos City native sang “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from the musical “Dreamgirls” on “Ellen,” the same song she was singing on her viral Youtube video.
“Look at you! Amazing! Amazing!” talk show host Ellen DeGeneres said after Zendee’s performance. “Zendee, you’re incredible!”
“Actually, I’m always there to get attention to everyone,” Zendee said when Ellen asked why she was singing karaoke in a mall.

“Because that’s the only place you can go,” Ellen remarked.
“And it’s free,” Zendee quipped.
Ellen also revealed one of the reasons why the young singer had to go to the mall to sing was because her family lived in a fire station.
“During nighttime because we’re not allowed to stay in daytime because it’s a working fire station,” she explained. “In the morning, I’ll go to the mall and sing.”
It will be recalled that one of Charice’s first international breaks was when she performed on “Ellen” in 2007.
Arnel Pineda and Kapamilya artist Rap Salazar also appeared on “Ellen” in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

Kyla announces pregnancy
The couple made the announcement on GMA-7’s weekend variety show “Party Pilipinas” on Sunday, October 28.
“I received the most beautiful blessing,” Kyla said of her pregnancy.
The Kapuso artist also said she’s already in the third month of her pregnancy. “Sobrang saya. Hindi ko maexplain,” she added.

When asked by her “Party Pilipinas” co-hosts on what she’s looking forward to the most about her pregnancy, Kyla said: “Ngayon kasi, kaming dalawa, super excited lang kami na lumabas na siya agad-agad.”
For her basketball player husband, the pregnancy is “the greatest gift.”
“Ever since we’ve been together, I know you love being around children. And I know you’re gonna be a great mother,” Rich told Kyla.
Kyla and Rich tied the knot last November 2011 in Makati City.
