ABS-CBN 2014 Summer Station ID Video Released

ABS-CBN 2014 Summer Station ID Video Released

Filipinos can always make it through calamities with a smile. This is what ABS-CBN will showcase in its much-awaited summer station ID premiering this Sunday (Mar 30) on “ASAP 19.”
Dubbed as “PINASmile: Masayang Muli ang Kwento ng Summer Natin,” the 2014 summer SID aims to promote the Philippines as a unique travel destination that takes pride in the beauty of each region, the country’s colorful culture, and of course, the stories behind the unique and infectious smiles of Pinoys.
“Filipinos will always choose to smile amidst hardships; we find happiness even in the small things. We know how to be grateful and remain positive. We believe in the goodness of others. Indeed, despite the calamities that severely damaged our country, the Filipino optimism shines through,” said head of ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management Robert Labayen.

“PINASmile,” interpreted by today’s hottest loveteam Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, brings out the raw and authentic happiness from the simple Pinoys. Kapamilya stars and news personalities were tasked to be the smile seekers and went to different parts of the country to immortalize these blissful moments with their own cameras.
Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, for example, took photos and even selfies with Ivatan women in Batanes, while Andi Eigenmann and Bea Alonzo roamed around Luneta taking pictures of families and friends bonding around the famous park. Angelica Panganiban, John Prats, and Zanjoe Marudo, on other hand, captured the smiles of residents in Mt. Pinatubo.
Also included in the itinerary are provinces that were severely devastated by disasters last year, particularly Bohol, Samar, and Leyte.
“The positive stories and warm smiles from these hard-hit provinces are testaments of how brave and happy Filipinos could be despite the tragedies that our fellow countrymen went through,” explained Labayen. “Let’s make our summer story worth smiling about again, and show the world that the Philippines is one happy place worth visiting and coming back to.”

The “PINASmile: Masayang Muli ang Kwento ng Summer Natin” theme song was written by Robert Labayen, Lloyd Oliver Corpuz, Christer Salire, Revbrain Martin, Jill Cabradilla-Aspiras, Mark Raywin Tome, and Christine Daria Estabillo. Its music was composed, arranged and produced by Bojam and Thyro of FlipMusic, mixed and mastered by RB “Kidwolf” Barbaso and Bojam, and acoustic guitars by Nica Del Rosario. It was directed by Paolo Emmanuel Ramos and Peewee Gonzales.
The 2014 ABS-CBN Summer Station ID was created by ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management headed by Robert Labayen, Johnny Delos Santos, Patrick de Leon and Ira Zabat. The SID Creative and Production team members include Danie Sedilla-Cruz, Edsel Misenas, Kathrina Sanchez, Dang Baldonado, Tina Barbin, Sheryl Ramos, Christine Joy Laxamana, Christian Faustino, Lloyd Oliver Corpuz, Carlota Rosales, Carla Payongayong, Jonathan Perez, Adrian Lim, Chiz Perez, Raywin Tome, Christine Daria Estabillo, Ermil Sanchez, Mark Bravo, Love De Leon, video editors Lorenz Morales and Con Ignacio, logo designer Roger Villon, logo animation Meryl Miranda, print and graphics design head Carmelo Saliendra, motion graphics and brand identity head Oliver Paler, post production specialists Alfie Landayan and Rap Dela Rea, ABS-CBN TV Entertainment, ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs, ABS-CBN Regional Network Group, Star Magic, and the Choose Philippines team.

Rio 2 "What is Love" Lyric Video

Rio 2 "What is Love" Lyric Video

“What is Love” lyric video performed by Janelle Monáe from Blue Sky Studios’ “Rio 2” family movie is now up on YouTube. Watch below:

In April 2011, Twentieth Century Fox released Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studio’s CG animated feature “Rio.”  The film was born from the imagination of Carlos Saldanha, who co-directed or directed the global blockbusters “Ice Age,” “Ice Age: The Meltdown” and “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.”
To fully realize the scope and breadth of this magical world and its vivid characters, Saldanha brought together an all-star voice cast, led by Oscar® nominees Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg, Oscar and Grammy®-winner Jamie Foxx, acclaimed musical artist will.i.am, actor-musician Jemaine Clement, comedic actress Leslie Mann, actor Rodrigo Santoro (a Brazilian native), actor-comedian George Lopez, and funnyman Tracy Morgan.
The filmmakers enveloped the action – and audiences – with a combination of Brazilian sounds and contemporary pop music.  The soundtrack featured a stellar musical cast performing under the guidance of composer John Powell and Brazilian music legend and “Rio’s” executive music producer, Sergio Mendes. “Rio” became a worldwide smash with a global box office tally of $486 million.  It also was a huge hit on DVD and Blu-ray disc.
Now, Saldanha returns to Brazil and reunites his beloved characters in RIO 2.  In the new film, it’s a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three kids, after they’re hurtled from Rio to the wilds of the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in, he goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful and villainous Nigel, and meets the most fearsome adversary of all…his father-in-law.
Our favorite “Rio” characters are joined by Oscar nominee Andy Garcia, Grammy winner Bruno Mars, Tony® winner Kristin Chenoweth and Oscar/Emmy®/Tony winner Rita Moreno.  RIO 2 also features new Brazilian artists and original music by Janelle Monáe and Wondaland.
In RIO 2 we find Blu, Jewel and their family living the perfect domesticated life in the city.  The offspring are: Bia(voiced by “The Hunger Games’” Amandla Stenberg), who lives with her beak in a book and likes spouting facts and figures, just like her dad; Tiago (Pierce Gagnon, “Looper”) the youngest, who is always up for adventure, especially if it involves destroying something; and Carla (singer/actress/comedian Rachel Crow), the eldest, a spunky teen who longs to get a little space from her protective family so she can express her musical side.
So, in RIO 2, it’s on…in the Amazon, not only visually, but musically.  “We wanted to look at different musical ‘flavors,’ sounds and exciting new beats that make the soundtrack for RIO 2 even bigger than the first film’s,” says the director.
After Saldanha wrote the story, screenwriter Don Rhymer, who had worked on “Rio,” began fleshing out Saldanha’s ideas.  It was a fruitful collaboration, which sadly ended when Rhymer passed away in late 2012.  “Don was our guy,” says Saldanha. “He embraced the vision of the first film and had really exciting ideas for RIO 2.  His death left a big gap for us.  We were lucky to have the amazing writers Carlos Kotkin, Jenny Bicks and Yoni Brenner help finish the screenplay, but Don was a very special person who played a big role in the project’s development.”

“Rio 2” in 2D and 3D opens April 9 in theaters nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Louise De Los Reyes Says Bf Enzo Pineda Is Not Jealous Of Aljur Abrenica

LOUISE DE LOS REYES is having the time of her life playing the dual roles of Perlas and Alona in the hit telefantasya “Kambal Sirena”. “Mahirap kasi nga I play two different roles and very physically challenging pa ang maging sirena, lalo na ang swimming scenes,” she says. “But I’m not complaining since I’m really enjoying everything at sanay na rin ako ngayon to play both roles na one is feisty, palaban, yung sirenang si Alona, at yung isa naman, si Perlas, mahina ang loob kasi natatakot siya dahil may gills siya o hasang sa leeg kaya inaalipusta ng ibang tao. Ang nakakatuwa, very positive ang feedback from the viewers. Maraming may gusto sa show kaya nakakawala ng pagod lalo na’t nag-aapura kami ngayon sa taping. Kung minsan, kung ano yung na-tape namin today, siyang ipapalabas on the same night kaya nakaka-stress.”

What’s her boyfriend Enzo Pineda’s reaction to the show? Isn’t he getting jealous now that she’s paired with Aljur Abrenica? “No, walang selosan kasi friend naman sila ni Aljur. He’s very supportive nga. Nanonood siya at natutuwa siya for me. Abangan nyo dahil marami pang mas magagandang mangyayari sa show in the coming weeks. Mas lalalim ang kuwento.”
