Lumipat na si Agot Isidro na kilala bilang isang Kapamilya talent sa GMA-7. Ang unang proyekto ni Agot sa GMA-7 ay ang primetime series na pinamagatang One True Love. Ayon kay Agot Isidro, halos dalawampung taon siyang nagtrabaho sa Kapamilya network bilang aktres at singer. Gusto lang daw ng dalaga na sumubok ng bago pero iginiit na hindi siya nagsawa sa kaniyang dating mother station kundi dahil ayaw niya lang matengga ang kaniyang trabaho. Nagpaalam din naman siya sa istasyon na lilipat siya ng GMA-7 at naintindihan naman daw ito ng kaniyang mga kaibigan. Hindi naman humingi ng counter offer si Agot Isidro istasyon dahil ipinaalam niya lang ang kaniyang desisyon sa kanila para gumawa ng proyekto sa GMA-7.

Wala naman daw request na hiningi si Agot sa GMA-7 nang siya ay lumipat dito. Walang problema sa aktres kung bigyan siya ng kontrabida role sa bagong teleserye ng Kapuso network. Aniya, isa siyang artista at responsibilidad niya na gumanap sa iba’t-ibang karakter. Naging maganda naman daw ang paglipat ng aktres sa GMA-7 at napapansin niya ang pagiging maalaga ng mga ito sa kaniya. Umaasa rin siya na hindi naiilang sa kaniya ng mga dating Kapuso talents dahil siya mismo ay kumportable na kasama sila. Nilinaw ni Agot Isidro na wala siyang negatibong nararamdaman sa kaniyang  mga bagong kasama sa GMA-7.

Sa dating network ay per project ang nagiging kontrata ni Agot samantalang sa GMA-7 ay binigyan siya ng pagkakataon na magkaroon ng dalawang taong kontrata. Walang ideya si Agot Isidro kung ilang shows ang balak ibigay sa kaniya ng network dahil mas mahalaga raw ay magawa niya ang pinapagawa sa kaniya bilang isang contract artist. Marami ding nakikita na pamilyar na mga mukha si Agot sa paglipat niya ng GMA-7. Kasama na rito ang ilang mga cameraman, personal assistants at ang direktor na si Andoy Ranay na galing ng Kapamilya network.

Malaking bagay din daw na makakasama niya ang matalik na kaibigan sa kaniyang unang proyekto sa GMA-7. Matutulungan daw si Agot Isidro ng kaibigan na maging pamilyar sa paligid at mga tao sa bagong istasyon. Natutuwa ang aktres dahil alam niyang magiging maganda ang resulta ng kaniyang paglilipat sa GMA-7.. Hindi itinanggi ni Agot na kahit papaano ay nakakaramdam siya ng nerbyos sa kauna-unahang proyekto niya sa GMA-7. Kahit pa nakakaramdam ng konting kaba si Agot ay excited pa rin siya na gawin ito dahil sa bagong karanasan. JM de Guzman, may bagong teleserye

Hindi makapaniwala si JM de Guzman sa pagtitiwala sa kaniya ng ABS-CBN para sa isa na namang teleserye na kaniyang pagbibidahan. Kitang-kita ang maraming trabahong dumarating ngayon kay JM at maging sa paggawa ng pelikula ay in-demand ang binata. Ngayon ay may panibagong yugto ang kaniyang matagumpay na afternoon teleserye na Angelito, Ang Batang Ama. Umiikot na naman ang istorya sa bagong pakikipagsapalaran ng karakter ni JM de Guzman na Angelito sa naturang serye. Ngayong Hunyo ay inaasahang magsisimula ang teleserye kung kaya excited na ang lahat ng casts partikular na ang binatang aktor na si JM.

Katatapos lang din gawin ng binatang aktor ang kaniyang pelikula sa ilalim ng Regal Films.  Kamakailan lang ay naganap ang story conference ng bagong teleserye ni JM de Guzman sa Kapamilya network. Agad namang tinanong ang aktor ng mga press patungkol sa nararamdaman nito at isang panibagong proyekto na naman ang ipinagkatiwala sa kaniya ng Kapamilya network. Pinasinungalingan din ng binata ang lumalabas na isyu na mayroon siyang attitude problem sa kaniyang mga kasama sa teleserye. Ayon kay JM de Guzman, wala raw itong katotohanan at maaaring hindi lang daw siya nakikilala nang lubusan ng mga tao sa paligid niya.

Sa ngayon ay mas gusto umanong mag-concentrate ni JM sa kaniyang bagong teleserye at huwag munang intindihin ang kaniyang love life. Nauugnay ngayon ang pangalan ng binata sa dalagang aktres na si Jessy Mendiola. Aminado si JM de Guzman na hindi sila pwedeng magkaroon ng relasyon ng dalaga dahil kumplikado umano ang kasalukuyan nilang estado. Ang ikalawang yugto ng teleserye ng aktor ay magsisilbing pangatlong proyekto niya sa ABS-CBN kung saan gaganap niya ang isang malaking karakter. Camille Prats on life, love and career

Widowed for almost nine months now, 26-year old Camille Prats is not dating anyone nor is she ready for a love life.

"Pagdating sa lovelife, ayaw kong magsalita ng tapos, siguro I'll get there eventually but not now. Hindi ko siya hinahanap. I just want to enjoy all the blessings that I have been receiving from God," she expressed.

She knows that at her age she is bound to meet someone new someday but she is not rushing things. She is not closing her doors too but her priority remains to be her child and her work.

"Unti-unti nakakapag-move on na ako. Unti-unti natatanggap ko na hindi ko na siya makikita, hindi na siya babalik. That's actually one of my prayers because I want to focus everything on my child, work and school. Gusto ko lang muna na lahat ng gagawin ko para sa akin at sa anak ko," she shared.

She is aware however that some of her male friends are, as we say in the vernacular, "nagpaparamdam." She is not certain though if their intentions are to court her.

"Nagpapakita lang siguro ng admiration sa akin, natutuwa or nababaitan pero di siguro nanliligaw," she remarked.

If people would notice a "glow" on her face, it's because Camille's wish to become busy in her showbiz career has been answered. She is in "Luna Blanca" and has a new show with GMA News TV titled "MARS" with "Unang Hirit's" co-host Suzi Entrata-Abrera.

"Hosting was an oppprtunity that I was never given before. The last time I hosted was at 'Magandang Tanghali Bayan' I was around 10 years old then. Now I have a talk show which is a first for me," said Camille.

"MARS" for her is a perfect avenue to hone her hosting skills because she relates well to the show being a mother herself. In as much as she'll be learning a lot from the show, what she'll share her audience are her own experiences and what she's going through as a young mother.

"Napalinya ako sa drama so I never thought anyone would get me as a host. So when this was offered I was excited and pressured sa mga expectations sa akin," she related.

She also pointed-out that much of what she could learn from the show would be from her co-host Suzi.

"We'll have different inputs and her being a more experienced mom, iba rin ang understanding niya sa mga topics namin. The show is like a mixture of different generations of motherhood," explained Camille.

According to her, they already finished taping their pilot week and it consists of light and sensitive subjects. For her, topics that other talk shows avoid are discussed in "MARS."

"Nakakatuwa kasi nakaka-relate ako. It's always good that you get to share even your simplest thoughts on motherhood," she quipped.

"MARS" starts airing on June 11, 2012, Monday, 6 pm at GMA News TV 11.

GMA-7 Scores Another Nationwide TV Ratings Win this May

Leading broadcast company GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) scored another nationwide TV ratings win this May, according to data of the widely recognized ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.
 
Based on May 1 to 31 data (May 1 to 26 data and May 27 to 31 overnight data), GMA averaged 35.1 total day household audience share points in National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM), ahead of ABS-CBN’s 30.2 points by 4.9 points and of TV5’s 14.5 points by 20.6 points. 
  Using an assumption of five viewers per household, GMA’s margins translate to almost 900,000 viewers over ABS-CBN and 3.7 million viewers over TV5 nationwide.
  Nielsen’s comparative monthly nationwide ratings performance of the country’s three major TV channels nearly half-way into the year likewise reflects GMA as the established leading station in the airwaves.
  GMA’s share point lead over ABS-CBN from January to May 31 hit almost six points, while its lead against TV5 was at 21 points.
  In Total Urban Luzon, which makes up 77% of total urban television households nationwide, GMA hit 39 share points or a 13.1-point difference against ABS-CBN’s 25.9, and a 24.9-point gap against TV5’s 14.1 this May.
  The gaps translate to more than 1.8 million more viewers for GMA over ABS-CBN; and 3.5 million more viewers over TV5 in the said area.
  In Mega Manila, an area strategically important to advertisers as it comprises the bulk of total urban television households at 59.5%, GMA had an outright win with 40.2 share points, more than 15 points away from ABS-CBN’s 24.6, and 25.7 points higher than TV5’s 14.5 points.
  The gaps translate to almost 1.8 million more viewers over ABS-CBN and 2.9 million more viewers over TV5.
  Further, GMA strengthened its programming with a string of launches on primetime and daytime in the previous month.
 
GMA’s newest primetime offering Luna Blanca, the first multigenerational drama, outrated in Mega Manila ABS-CBN’s counterpart program Princess and I during its debut last May 21, while the early morning cooking show Cooking with the Stars has been a constant nationwide ratings winner over ABS-CBN’s Kris TV since its premiere last May 28.
  Pinoy Adventures, GMA's primetime adventure-travel show every Sunday, also records continuous ratings win in the strategic areas of Urban Luzon and Mega Manila over ABS-CBN’s Sarah G. Live since its premiere airing on May 13.
  On Saturday daytime, GMA’s My Chubby World is the recognized kids’ favorite over ABS-CBN’s The Penguin. GMA’s kiddie show had another season relaunch last May 12 and has consistently clobbered the competing program across all areas.
  Relative to TV5, GMA program launches enjoy high rating differences across all areas and timeblocks.
  GMA subscribes to the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement along with 21 companies including another major network, TV5; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 15 advertising agencies and three regional clients. On the other hand, ABS-CBN is the only local major TV network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.
  The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 1,190 homes in Mega Manila versus Kantar Media's 770 homes. Nielsen also has a nationwide sample size of 2,000 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media.
  GMA finished the first quarter of 2012 with P388 million in net profits, while ABS-CBN netted only P306 million for the period, a sharp 69% drop from 2011.

BATANG BABAE, NILALANGOY ANG DAGAT MAKAPAG-ARAL LANG

Habang ang mga estudyante sa siyudad ay abala sa pag-'update' ng kanilang Facebook accounts at pagpapabili sa mga magulang ng latest gadgets, maraming kabataan sa bansa ang malaki ang sinasakripisyo makapag-aral lamang.

Melissa Ricks, Paul Jake Castillo may relasyon

Namataan is Melissa Ricks sa isang event hindi para sa isang endorsement kundi para suportahan ang kaniyang napapabalitang nobyo na si Paul Jake Castillo. Inamin ni Melissa na espesyal sa kaniya ang binatang si Paul Jake kaya ganun na lang ang suportang ibinibigay niya rito. Sigurado naman din daw si Melissa Ricks na ganun din ang gagawin sa kaniya ng binata kapag siya naman ang mayroong special event. Hindi itinago ng dalaga ang nararamdaman niya kay Paul Jake Castillo dahil balik normal na raw ang kaniyang buhay pag-ibig. Aminado naman si Melissa na si Paul Jake ang kasalukuyang nagpapasaya sa kaniya.

Inamin niya na nagkakamabutihan na sila ni Paul Jake Castillo at hindi niya raw ito idedeny. Matatandaang napabalita noon ang relasyon ng dalaga sa binatang si Jake Cuenca. Ayon kay Melissa Ricks, ayaw daw ng dati niyang nobyo na aminin niya noon ang kanilang relasyon.

Mas bukas na si Melissa sa kaniyang relasyon ngayon hindi katulad ng relasyon nila noon ng dating nobyo na aktor. Sa mga panahong iyon ay nahirapan din si Melissa Ricks para sa kalagayan ng kaniyang buhay pag-ibig dahil pareho silang may career na pinanghahawakan.

Bukod dito ay may pinapangalagaan din daw na love team si Melissa noon para sa kaniyang mga fans. Masaya ang aktres dahil naiintindihan daw ni Paul Jake Castillo ang kanilang kasalukuyang sitwasyon. Araw-araw din daw pumupunta si Paul Jake sa bahay ng dalaga kapag wala itong trabaho. Bilibi na bilb din si Melissa Ricks sa pinapakitang effort ng binata kahit pa busy sila pareho. Aniya, kahit na gabing-gabi na ay ginagawan pa rin daw ni Paul Jake ng paraan para lang magkita sila ng nobya.

Halos limang taon naman ang tanda ni Paul Jake sa kaniyang nobya na si Melissa kaya mas marami raw itong alam at karanasan pagdating sa isang relasyon. Kilala na rin ng pamilya ng aktres ang kaniyang bagong nobyo pero ang kaniyang ina ay hindi pa ito nakikita nang personal dahil kasalukuyang nasa Amerika. Nakilala na rin ni Melissa Ricks ang pamilya ni Paul Jake Castillo noong nakraang Holy Week at natutuwa siya dahil mababait ang mga ito.

Rhian Ramos, girlfriend ni KC Montero?

Malakas ang bulung-bulungan na may espesyal na namamagitan sa pagitan ng dalagang si Rhian Ramos at ng radio DJ na si KC Montero. Una na itong itinanggi ni Rhian kaugnay ng balitang nag-uugnay sa kanilang dalawa dahil sa madalas nilang paglabas ni KC na magkasama. Ayon sa isang taong malapit kay KC Montero, madalas niya umanong nakikita ang dalagang si Rhian Ramos na pumupunta sa opisina ng TV-radio host sa Makati. Bukod dito ay madalas din daw nakikita ang dalawa na magkasama sa iba’t-ibang lugar. Hinala rin ng marami na may relasyon na nga ang dalawang GMA-7 talents.

Nakita rin sina Rhian at KC na kumakain sa Mc Donald’s sa may Alabang Town Center kung saan nakasakay lamang sila sa iisang kotse. Nagawa pa raw umanong pagbuksan ni KC Montero ang dalagang si Rhian Ramos ng pintuan. Samantalang habang nasa Party Pilipinas daw si KC ay tinutukso naman siya ng kaniyang co-host patungkol sa dalaga. Dahil sa madalas na pagkikita umano nina Rhian Ramos at KC Montero ay marami na nga ang nagdududa na maaaring nauwi na nga ito sa isang relasyon.

Hindi naman ito ang unang pagkakataon na napag-usapan ang tunay na ugnayan ng dalagang si Rhian kay KC. Kuwento ni Rhian Ramos, nais niya umanong maging parte ng kinabibilangang kumpanya para sa isang clothing company ni KC Montero kung kaya ang binata ang kaniyang nagiging trainer.

Aminado rin ang dalaga na madalas din silang mag-usap ng binata sa pamamagitan ng Twitter. Ayon kay Rhian Ramos, sa ngayon ay wala pa siyang planong magkaroon ng boyfriend matapos ang kaniyang makontrobersyal na relasyon sa DJ na si Mo Twister na nagkataon din na kaibigan ni KC Montero. Dagdag ni Rhian, alam ng mga lalakeng nakapaligid sa kaniya na nasa estado siya na kaibigan lang ang hinahanap at hindi pakikipagrelasyon. Wala rin daw siyang balak na mamili ng kaniyang susunod na magiging nobyo. Tinturing niya lang umanong kaibigan ang mga lalakeng nauugnay sa kaniya kung kaya pinagkakatiwalaan niya ang mga ito bilang mga kaibigan.

Nakarating naman sa dating nobyo ni Rhian Ramos ang nasabing balitang nauugnay ang dating nobya sa kaniyang kaibigang DJ. Halata naman na nadismaya ang kaibigan ni KC Montero sa kaniya nang malaman ang ugnayan ng dati niyang nobya at ang tinuturing niyang malapit na kaibigan. Aminado naman ang dalagang si Rhian na hindi niya pa kayang patawarin ang ginawa sa kaniya noong ng dating nobyo. Wala rin daw dapat ipaliwanag si Rhian Ramos kung ano ang mayroon sa kanila ngayon ni KC Montero.

I am so sure that famous blogger Rickey would be very glad to know that Philippines' dearest American Idol 2nd placer Jessica Sanchez will be singing the US National Anthem in the upcoming Manny Pacquiao boxing fight with Timothy Bradley.

Despite Pacquiao's announcement of his intention to ask Jessica to sing the Philippine National Anthem on his Sunday fight, Jessica as a born American citizen will be singing the "The Star-Spangled Banner" instead. Surely a bad news to her Filipino fans.

According to latest Pacquiao-Bradley bout bulletin, the 16-year-old part-Filipina singer will be part of the pre-fight ceremonies and will be singing “The Star Spangled Banner” prior to the fight.

Meanwhile, another Filipino-American teenage singer, Kirby Asunto, is expected to sing the “Lupang Hinirang” for the fight at the MGM Grand Arena on Saturday, June 9 (morning of June 10 in the Philippines).

Multi-awarded singer-songwriter-actor Mr. Ogie Alcasid plays the role of Bong, son of a rich man who grew up without the guidance and care of his mother.

In the story, Bong – just like his father – is a smooth “lady-killer” who lives the good life until he meets and falls in love with Rose, a simple, loving woman who has a unique gift for growing and tending plants. Their love continues to blossom with the birth of a beautiful daughter named Daisy.

But unfortunately, fate has other plans for Bong and his family. Rose dies in a tragic accident during Daisy’s first birthday. As a result, Bong goes back to his old playboy ways, obliviously leaving his daughter to fend for herself. He is unaware of the daily torments that Daisy goes through in the hands of her Lola Mercedes, her Tita Daphne, and cousin Lily — who all want nothing more than to possess all of Bong’s inheritance including the family company.

Despite the luxury being provided to her, Daisy feels lonely because of the absence of her father. Often, she finds refuge in her beloved mother’s garden, which, unknown to her, is occupied by a small magical pixie named Winnie. Knowing Daisy’s pain, Winnie decides to help her by granting her one wish: for Daisy’s dad to become a mom instead!

Bong’s life turns upside down as he transforms from a Macho-Papa to a Sexy-Mama! Meanwhile, Mercedes and her kin of spoiled socialites cease the opportunity and use Bong’s identity crisis as an excuse to take over the family company.

Director Marc Webb Talks About “The Amazing Spider-Man”


Given his surname, you might think that it’s inevitable that Marc Webb would end up directing a Spider-Man movie. But the 37 year old would be the first to admit that he’s something of a leftfield choice to oversee this latest iteration of the friendly neighbourhood webslinger, with The Amazing Spider-Man representing only his second film, following 2009’s hit romantic comedy, (500) Days Of Summer.

That movie’s wry humour, flashy setpieces and focus on characters, though, persuaded The Amazing Spider-Man producers, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and the late Laura Ziskin that Webb was their Spider-director. And Webb has risen to the challenge, with an earthy, grounded aesthetic that sees the webslinger’s legendary story take place in a very recognisable universe: ours.

We caught up with Webb in his Culver City editing suite, and talked to him about his decision to get involved with the project, the challenges of making Spider-Man swing, and finding Andrew Garfield...

How did you get involved with The Amazing Spider-Man?
I was meeting with these guys [Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach] and they brought up the idea. I was meeting with them on something else and I thought it was totally ridiculous. I said, I don’t make movies like that. They said, that’s why you should do it.

This is a new version of the Spider-Man story. How different is it?
There’s so much to tell in terms of who this kid is. My favourite thing about Spider-Man, is Peter Parker, the fact that he’s a kid from Queens who’s not a billionaire and he’s not an alien. He’s a kid who has the same problems we all do and that makes him intensely relatable. Spider-Man becomes wish fulfillment for that, flying through the air and beating up bad guys, but that all emanates from what Peter Parker would dream of, whether or not he was Spider-Man. To me, I wanted to start from a place where it felt like, if you walked into the theatre, that it was the same universe you lived in, and ground that both aesthetically and emotionally, which is difficult when you have a giant lizard running down the street.

How did you approach the scenes where Spidey is swinging through the city?
It was important for me to not just see Spider-Man swinging away from afar, but to be with him and feel that. We went to New York, near Columbia and Harlem and built a travelling rig system. We have motion capture elements that are there to create a sense of realism, weight and physical realism that we’re still working on and will be working on until the day before the movie comes out. It’s about expanding the universe, where you earn the spectacle of Spider-Man’s abilities.

You shot the movie in 3D. It seems that, if any character is suited for 3D, it’s Spider-Man.
I agree completely. 3D after Avatar was, for the studios, the thing to do because it was the salvation of the theatrical experience. But it was misused and maligned. But the truth is, it’s an incredible tool for specific things and particularly to create that sense of flying. There are movies for which it is made and there is no character better suited for 3D than Spider-Man.

Let’s talk about Andrew Garfield. What made you cast him as Peter?
He was just the right guy. In his screen-test, he killed it. It was one of those things - we did the screen-test and that night I was cutting it together and I couldn’t stop watching it. He moved like a kid, his elbows were flying all over the place, and even though he’s a little bit older, he had the humour, the awkwardness but also an ability to go deep in a way that very few actors can do. He’s a highly-trained actor, he’s very thoughtful about that and that grabbed me. The editors we’re working with, they didn’t know he was British! (laughs)

What can we expect from his Spider-Man?
We start off with a different kind of Peter Parker, without subverting the iconography of what Peter Parker and Spider-Man is. There are certain mythological obligations people have in any story, but it’s so radically different in terms of tone and what he experiences and backstory and the mystery about his father that I’m very comfortable with the movie occupying a different space. What we took for the beginning of the story is Peter being left by his father and mother, and what that does for him, and the emotion ripples through the movie, and subsequent movies as well.

So he suffers?
I wanted him to feel pain. We fall in love with heroes not because of the way they can punch someone, but for how they can take a punch. But he’s funny. We wanted to give him some quips, that was such an important part of the character that I really enjoy in the comics.

And then there’s Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, a hugely important character for Peter.
Listen, I’m a romantic. I love relationships, guy/girl stuff that’s interesting and relatable. And Gwen is very smart. Emma’s attitude is so not a movie star, but she’s the biggest movie star I’ve ever worked with. She’s so charismatic and funny and decent and a wonderful actor. The other thing I like about her, is the humour. She’s very funny.

And can you talk about choosing The Lizard as the villain?
I’m interested in the idea that Curt Connors was his mentor and then became his adversary and he cares about this guy who he has to fight. He’s the literal embodiment of the theme of the movie, which is we all have a missing piece. He has no arm, Peter has no parents. He has to fill that void, and he fills it with Spider-Man. Curt is not as strong as Spider-Man on the inside, but he’s much stronger on the outside, and essentially he becomes a big bully. But I like that The Lizard thinks that what he’s doing is right, in his weird, haywired brain, he’s right. He’s not the bad guy. I love that. I love the idea that Peter is trying to find the humanity in the inhumane, it gives him a very good obstacle to navigate.

Will we hear the phrase, ‘with great power comes great responsibility?’
That’s ingrained in the very DNA of Spider-Man, with great power comes great responsibility. There are different incarnations of that idea that are learned in different parts of this movie, and it’s part of his arc, but it doesn’t completely define his character. It’s about him growing up. Every movie is, who am I? We say that in the movie, explicitly. Being responsible for things bigger than himself is what he’s about, it’s what superheroes are all about. It’s why we love them.

Following in the footsteps of the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ release “Marvel’s The Avengers,” production on the highly anticipated film “Iron Man 3,” directed by Shane Black, has commenced production in Wilmington, North Carolina. The production schedule will also include locations in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, Miami, Florida and China.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, “Iron Man 3” returns Robert Downey Jr. as the iconic Super Hero character Tony Stark/Iron Man along with Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan.

Set for release in the U.S. and the Philippines on May 3, 2013, Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” marks the second feature to be fully owned, marketed and distributed by Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009.

“Iron Man 3” continues the epic, big-screen adventures of the world’s favorite billionaire inventor/Super Hero, Tony Stark aka “Iron Man.” Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Charles Newirth, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard and Dan Mintz.

PBB Teen Houseplayers Bing Boyce and Kim Balot Put Some PBB Teen Edition 4 Housemates in Awkward Position


The housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4” found themselves in utter discomfort after the introduction of houseplayer Kim Balot, the girlfriend and best friend of Yves Flores, who is also being romantically linked to fellow housemate Myrtle Sarrosa.




Kim entered the PBB house on June 4 as a houseplayer together with Bing Boyce, the older brother of Ryan Boyce, who is currently in a ‘mutual understanding’ phase with housemate Karen Reyes. Kim and Bing were both introduced by Big Brother to the housemates as ‘official’ additions to the group.




How will Kim and Bing affect the relationship of the housemates? Will their tasks include mucking up the season’s love teams Yves-Myrtle and Ryan-Karen?

Meanwhile, Big Brother announced that no nominations for eviction will be conducted this week so viewers can get to know the housemates better. The edition’s latest evictee was Mariz, the “Inday Husay of Cebu,” who was booted from the PBB house last Saturday (June 2) after receiving the lowest percentage of votes.

Velvet Presents the 2012 Tony Awards Nominees


The 66th Tony Awards will once again recognize Broadway’s elite who live and perform for their craft and for the sought after Tony Award medallion.

The world is eagerly awaiting for this grand event where all theatre professionals behind the musicals and plays will converge in one stage for one night on Velvet, as it presents the exclusive live telecast of the Tony Awards on June 11, 8:00 a.m. (Manila time).

The night of nights for Broadway fans will finally honor these men and women for their distinguished achievements on Broadway. With no understudies, they will come as themselves in gowns and suits to gather and walk down the red carpet at the landmark Beacon Theatre in New York City. On its second year now, Beacon Theater will glitter with the roster of veteran and new talents vying for the medallion in the history of plays.

The nominees for best musical are: “Leap of Faith”, “Newsies”, “Nice Work If You Can Get It” and “Once”.

“Once”, the Broadway musical version of a 2006 Irish indie film is still on its early days but it has caught Broadway by storm. It topped the list of Tony Award nominations with 11; the show’s leads, Steven Kazee and Cristin Milioti received nominations, in addition to Elizabeth A. Davis for best performance by an actress in a featured role in a musical. The low-tech indie-pop film about struggling musicians in love has definitely beguiled theater.

Coming up next are two musicals tied in ten are “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess” which staged the classic folk opera and “Nice Work If You Can Get It”, a nostalgic confection of Gershwin tunes. Other musicals that received the buzz of approval are “Follies and Disney’s Newsies” with eight nominations each.

Among plays, the nominees for best play are: “Clybourne Park” by Bruce Norris, “Other Desert Cities” by Jon Robin Baitz, “Peter and the Starcatcher” by Rick Elice and “Venus in Fur” by David Ives.

“Peter and the Starcatcher”, based on the children’s novel, received the most nominations with nine while Mike Nichols‘ revival of “Death of a Salesman” and the funny “One Man, Two Guvnors” based on the 18th-century “The Servant of Two Masters” each received seven.

James Corden, the fast-rising comedy man of “One Man” will vie against Philip Seymour Hoffman, James Earl Jones, Frank Langella and John Lithgow in the category of best performance by an actor in a leading role in a play.

The critically savaged “Spider Man” featuring U2‘s Bono and The Edge only received two nominations – best scenic and costume design while the acclaimed play “The Lyons” only received a best actress nomination for Linda Lavin.

This Sunday, June 10, “Reel Time” presents a telemovie based on the true story of female divers.

Apat na dalagitang may mataas ang parangarap. Sumisisid sa malalim na karagatan para makapasok sa paaralan.

Sinasalamin ng mga baku-bakong kalsada at mga mahihinang pundasyon ng bahay ang kahirapan ng isang komunidad sa Lungsod ng Batangas. Sinasabing ipinapanganak na mahirap ang karamihan sa kanila, at namamatay na walang-wala. Karamihan kasi sa kanila, lalo na ang mga kababaihan, nag-aasawa kahit dalagita pa lang. Hindi na nagagawang makapag-aral, at sa katunayan, wala pa raw kahit isa sa kanilang komunidad ang nakapagtapos na ng kolehiyo.

Ang kalagayang ito ang nais baguhin ng apat na ebang mandaragat – si Gina, ang magkapatid na sina Elizabeth at Abigail, Jolina at Sandara. Naniniwala silang edukasyon ang susi nila para maitawid ang pamilya sa lugmok na pamumuhay. Iyon nga lang, mistulang dinadala sila ng ahon pabalik sa pampang ng kahirapan.

Animo’y hindi na raw nila naranasan pang maging bata. Dahil ang laot na ang kanilang naging malawak na palaruan. At ang bangka ang kanilang naging bahay-bahayan.

Kilala nila ang kilos ng dagat. Pati ang awit ng habagat. Saksi ang mga alon sa kanilang mga pangarap. Sila ang Mga Ebang Mandaragat.

Mapapanood ang kanilang pelikula ng totoong buhay ngayong Hunyo 10, Linggo, 8:40 ng gabi sa Reel Time, pagkatapos ng Good News kasama si Vicky Morales sa GMA NewsTV Channel 11.

Sheryl Crow Brain Tumor Diagnosed Six Years After Her Breast Cancer


50-year-old country-pop singer Sheryl Crow revealed she has a benign brain tumor.

The tumor was discovered in November but the Grammy award-winning singer said she is staying upbeat.

She said:

"It's benign, so I don't have to worry about it.
"I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor.

"And I was, like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong.''

Crow, who battled breast cancer in 2006, suffered a memory lapse onstage at a May concert in Florida, when she forgot the lyrics to her hit song, 'Soak Up the Sun.'

"I'm 50, what can I say? My brain's gone to sh-t." she told the crowd about the flub.

Crow did not detail what treatment she is undergoing but said she will continue performing and noted she is working on her eighth studio album.
